Ceva, Inc. and Edge Impulse have announced a significant advancement in computer vision capabilities for embedded machine learning (ML) applications. This breakthrough comes through the integration of NVIDIA's TAO (Train, Adapt, and Optimize) toolkit with Ceva's NeuPro-Nano Neural Processing Units (NPUs) 1.

Integration of Edge Impulse Studio and NVIDIA TAO

The collaboration includes full integration of Edge Impulse Studio and support for NVIDIA TAO toolkit with Ceva-NeuPro Studio for both the NPN32 and NPN64 NPUs. This integration optimizes AI performance for the NeuPro-Nano NPUs with minimal coding requirements, offering cutting-edge AI/ML models and popular digital signal processing (DSP) blocks 2.

Benefits for Developers

The integration ensures that developers receive accurate cycle count emulation for full end-to-end AI applications. This is particularly beneficial as the NeuPro-Nano's architecture supports AI inference, feature extraction, and DSP workloads commonly used in audio, voice, and vision applications 1.

Availability and Future Implications

Ceva-NeuPro-Nano NPUs are now available for licensing. This collaboration is expected to simplify AI adoption at the edge, offering ease of use to customers and partners.
