While it's been a few years since the big boom of AI, the tools still keep coming. And each step of the way we're left speechless with what's being accomplished, only to ponder how things might look in just a few years time. Despite these major advances, it still feels like we're in the early stages. With that said, Google is now rolling out a new update to Veo, making it even easier to create videos just the way you want. While detailed prompts are good, being able to use reference images is even better. Get exactly what you want on the first try Google shared the news on X, with the update rolling out to those on mobile and desktop. While you'll still be able to make videos by just using prompts, you can now add in some reference images in order to get more accurate results. This also adds a bit more personality to your creations, as you can add original content, and just have Veo do the heavy lifting. Of course, while this feature can be great just to have a bit of fun and see what Veo is capable of, it can also be used as a new tool to express yourself as well. As stated before, this is just the beginning, and Google is working hard to make Veo 3 the one tool users look for when creating new AI video clips. Google is so confident in its tech that it recently unveiled an ad made using its own technologies. And for the most part, it looks fantastic. If I weren't told that it was created using Veo, I probably wouldn't even know. So if you want to give Veo a shot, you'll need to get started using Google Gemini. Most tools are available across a wide range of devices, but you'll get the best access using a desktop PC or mobile device. While the base account will give you access, you're going to get more extensive tools and creation options when signing up for an AI Pro or AI Ultra account. Google offers those with a new Pixel phone free access, and students can also get free access as well.

Gemini app gets a new way to guide photo-to-video generations
Google is updating the Gemini app today with a better way to use photo-to-video generation by adding visual ingredients. You can now upload up to three reference images to guide Veo in the Gemini app. These visual "ingredients" -- like in the Flow video tool -- can be of characters, objects, styles, and scenes to allow for: In the example below, we see the characters in the three images placed into the scene and act as specified by the prompt. Google sees this as a way to cut down on long, complicated prompts. This is rolling out starting today with full availability next week for Google AI Plus, Pro, and Ultra subscribers next week. Meanwhile, Google on Android and iOS recently updated Gemini's Tools menu to specify what model you're using for video generation (Veo 3.1).
