HubSpot launches a CRM connector for Anthropic Claude. Here's why
First it was ChatGPT, now it;'s Claude - HubSpot continues to build integrations with leading Large Language Models (LLMs) to empower its customers to take advantage of AI capabilities. In June, HubSpot announced a deep research CRM Connector for OpenAI's Chat GPT. It started as a read-only connector that could retrieve core CRM objects like contacts, companies, deals, and support tickets, and run analysis on the data. But that was just the start. About a month ago, OpenAI announced the beta version of a deep research connector via MCP (Model Context Protocol). MCP is the industry standard for connecting AI models across the internet. A few days ago, OpenAI extended its MCP to chat for all paid subscriptions in the US (and all paid subscriptions above Pro in the EU). What this MCP extension to chat means is that you can now connect to HubSpot (and other applications) and ask everyday questions via chat. So, not just deep research, but simple questions like 'How many tickets do I have open this week?', or 'How many contacts opened my last email campaign?'. Currently, the MCP only supports search and retrieval. If you have already connected HubSpot for in-depth research, you can also start prompting for basic queries. HubSpot is, however, recommending you reconnect for optimal performance. Anthropic's Claude is, as you well know, another popular LLM, so it makes sense that HubSpot would want to connect to it as well. The HubSpot CRM Connector for Claude not only provides information and summaries on your HubSpot data, but it also creates visualizations. The connector for ChatGPT follows a similar setup: you can only view the HubSpot data to which you have permission, and that data is limited to core HubSpot CRM objects such as contacts, companies, deals, tickets, and their associations. Additionally, a company admin must set up the connector before employees or partners can access it. Although Claude, like ChatGPT, does not use the data you share through HubSpot to train its models, there may be circumstances where a user might permit it, such as if they opt into training or choose to provide feedback. The differences are important to point out. First, you can use the CRM connector on all versions of Claude, including web, desktop, and mobile versions (HubSpot does not support mobile). But more importantly, Claude can create visualizations of your data, something you don't get in ChatGPT. HubSpot's MCP Server that connects to Claude is not the same You may have heard that HubSpot created its own MCP Server (still in beta), and that you can use it to connect to Claude. It's not the same thing. To create a HubSpot MCP Server that connects to Claude, you have to create a private app in HubSpot that gives you a unique access token to make the connection in the MCP server. Connecting Claude and HubSpot in this way gives you complete control over what users can do in Claude. So, if you want users to have the ability to perform actions in HubSpot, you can give them those permissions. When Karen Ng, now EVP and Head of Product for HubSpot, announced the ChatGPT connector for HubSpot, she wrote on LinkedIn, No more choosing between small and mighty. This is what democratizing AI for scaling business looks like - easy to use, easy to trust, game-changing in impact. We're not just adapting to the AI shift. We're helping businesses lead through it. The work HubSpot has been doing over the past few years with AI in the platform has been interesting to see. It often leads the way, showing us that enterprise tools can evolve quickly. Now, what it is doing outside its platform by connecting with leading LLMs is equally interesting and a clear demonstration of its desire to stay relevant at a time when there are so many new tools and technologies popping up to take on leaders in the B2B tech industry. HubSpot often acts like a scrappy star-tup, introducing new capabilities fast and furiously. In today's AI-driven landscape, it has to.

HubSpot Launches First CRM Connector for Anthropic's Claude
Claude can now generate tailored answers, summaries, and visualizations based on each team's unique context in HubSpot. Teams can then take action on insights directly in HubSpot, from optimizing campaigns to accelerating lead engagement. The HubSpot connector for Claude is available now to HubSpot customers across all tiers with a paid Claude subscription (Pro, Max, Team, or Enterprise). More go-to-market teams are using multiple AI tools to move faster -- but without customer context, those tools can only go so far. HubSpot is changing that. Today, we're introducing the first CRM connector for Claude -- bringing each customer's unique HubSpot context into Claude. With this connector, customers can ask questions in plain language, generate visualizations like charts and graphs, and take action on insights directly in HubSpot. "The HubSpot connector makes Claude more useful for our customers by grounding its responses in real context from their business," said Karen Ng, EVP and Head of Product at HubSpot. "It's a simple, powerful way to get insights you can trust, wherever you work. And it's another step in making advanced AI accessible to every business." Now, teams can use Claude to get personalized answers that help them work smarter and stay focused on what matters most, with visualizations tailored to their needs: * Marketing teams can ask Claude to find contacts who opened a recent email campaign but didn't click through, and generate a pie chart to support follow-up segmentation. * Sales teams can ask for a summary of active deals organized by name, amount, and stage, and sorted by closing date to help prioritize the week. * Support reps can ask for all open tickets assigned to them, sorted by priority and creation date. * Customer success teams can ask Claude to compare resolution approaches and outcomes across support channels to drive consistency and quality. "Claude is designed to reason through complex questions and deliver thoughtful, conversational answers," said Scott White, Head of Product, Claude.ai. "With the HubSpot connector, customers can bring their real-time CRM context into Claude -- making it more valuable for HubSpot-powered teams looking to gain insight and take action." We built the HubSpot connector for Claude to ensure users only see the CRM data they're allowed to access in HubSpot. For example, individual sales reps will only see pipeline data for deals they have permission to view. Anthropic does not use the data shared through HubSpot to train its models except in certain instances, like when a customer chooses to provide feedback or opts into training. Customers can refer to the terms (consumer & commercial) in their specific Anthropic plan. The HubSpot connector for Claude is available now to all HubSpot customers across all tiers with a paid Claude subscription (Pro, Max, Team, or Enterprise). It's part of a growing set of AI connectors from HubSpot designed to bring CRM context into the LLMs our customers use every day.
