If you think foldable phones are a bit too much, look away now, as a leaked Lenovo image shows off perhaps the largest foldable device I've ever seen. Think of a normal laptop, then stretch that screen to the realm of ridiculousness. Longtime writer and leaker Evan Blass took to their private X account (via liliputing) to show off the Lenovo Thinkbook Flip AI laptop, which is the first laptop with a foldable OLED display. As you might be able to guess from that description, it looks like a normal laptop until you reach the screen, which now doubles in size. Thankfully, the foldable aspect of this screen does mean it should look like a normal(ish) laptop when you fold one of the screens over. This is somewhat similar to the Lenovo Thinkbook Plus Gen 6 rollable laptop we saw last month, which has a screen which rolls out from the base to get larger. As the screens are foldable, leaked imagery shows you can flip the bottom of the two screens into the keyboard, and keep the top one on for videos, presentations etc. Alternatively, you can flip the top screen to the back of your laptop and use the Thinkbook Flip as a traditional laptop (but with a screen dangling over the other side). This would have to have plenty of software controls to avoid accidentally revealing your social media feed to whoever dares to sit opposite you in your local cafe. One of the bigger concerns with hinged devices like this is long-term reliability. There are multiple hinges in this build, which means multiple places that could falter. We do tend to rate Lenovo's build quality but it's still a consideration should this device make it to market. There's no word yet on how much this huge laptop will cost or what kind of components will be powering it but it bearing the Thinkbook name implies it's more designed for productivity, like coding, editing imagery, or browsing. The leaked imagery, showing the full laptop fully extended, has a noticeable crease in the display right where the hinge between two screens sits and there has been no word just yet on exactly how far back the screen can bend. This is not the first time we've seen a foldable device like this, with the Asus Zenbook Duo being a similar concept but the Duo is effectively two screens and a separate keyboard. Lenovo's machines appear to be all-in-one, which might make it harder to carry around but could leave room for a bit more power in that included chassis. As these are just leaks, designs could always change or not be fully indicative of scope if the real laptop launches but my first impressions are 'huh?'. My second is 'How could I sit a webcam on that thing?'

It uses an OLED screen that's about twice as tall as what you'd find on a normal laptop. The extra screen space isn't just designed for coding or showing extra-long chats or social media feeds, though it will likely be helpful in those cases. It can also fold in the middle so the top half of the screen is facing away from the user. Flipping the screen in half could allow someone else to view the display while a person is working on the laptop, or maybe they just want to use a regular-sized screen for a while. The laptop could also double as a tablet, which is something 2-in-1 convertible laptops also offer. Dual-screen laptops aren't new. Intel revealed a concept model back in 2019 that resembled the ThinkBook Flip AI. It was the same year that Asus showed off the latest ZenBook Pro that came with a 14-inch, 4K secondary display above the keyboard. There's also the powerful ROG Zephyrus Duo with its two screens. Asus also unveiled the 2024 Zenbook Duo last year. The dual-screen laptop with detachable keyboard can either be used as a standard laptop where the bottom screen is covered entirely by the keyboard, or as a regular dual-screen laptop with the two screens arranged vertically. It can also be used in desktop mode, with the two screens arranged horizontally. Lenovo's laptop is different from most as the screen bends in the middle like a foldable phone, rather than being two separate screens connected by a hinge, a design the similar-looking GPD Duo employs. Hopefully, there won't be a visible crease like we see in many folding devices. No word on the ThinkBook Flip AI's specs or price, but it'll almost certainly be expensive. This isn't the first futuristic laptop from Lenovo. Its ThinkBook Plus Gen 6 (above) features a 14-inch OLED display that can expand vertically to 16.7 inches at the press of a button or a wave of the hand. There is also speculation about potential AMD variants, possibly integrating Strix Point-based Ryzen AI 7 series chips. Essentially, it could end up being a high-performance device catering to both professional and creative users. Leaked images suggest it will have a similar form factor as the Lenovo ThinkBook Plus introduced at CES 2025 as the first-ever retail laptop with a rollable display. The upcoming laptop appears to be equipped with a screen which expands vertically upwards to reveal more real estate beneath. Further, it is also speculated to have the capability of bending to form a tent-like shape. The tipster suggests that it will be a "hybrid laptop". While specifications remain unknown, it is tipped to have artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities and could be dubbed as an AI PC. This suggests that the purported laptop could be powered by either Intel Core Ultra or Snapdragon X Elite processors, as only those two chips currently offer AI capabilities. Its wallpaper hints towards it running on Windows 11. Additionally, it might also include a physical keyboard.
