The New Moto G Stylus Might Be the Fastest Charging Phone Under $400
Expertise Phones |Texting apps | iOS | Android | Smartwatches | Fitness trackers | Mobile accessories | Gaming phones | Budget phones | Toys | Star Wars | Marvel | Power Rangers | DC | Mobile accessibility | iMessage | WhatsApp | Signal | RCS Motorola's new $400 Moto G Stylus for 2025 is getting the big feature that I want to see in more expensive phones: superfast 68W wired charging. Outside of this Motorola phone, it's primarily OnePlus and gaming phones from Asus and RedMagic that hit these speeds, and it could make the Moto G Stylus a very convenient phone to use. To put this into perspective, I'm currently testing Motorola's $300 Moto G Power that offers 30W charging and a 5,000mAh battery, the latter of which is also in the new Moto G Stylus. The Moto G Power recharged from empty to 61% in 30 minutes. If the Stylus holds to this pattern, we might be able to get a nearly full battery within that time. At a time when budget phones are getting more features to compete with more expensive smartphones that cost twice or three times the price, Motorola is trying to make its new Moto G Stylus phone stand out with features like fast charging. The 68W wired charging is joined by 15W wireless charging, which Motorola notes will require the company's own TurboPower wireless charger to reach. The Moto G Stylus has a Sketch to Image feature, which sounds similar to the one we've seen powered by Samsung's Galaxy AI in the Galaxy S24 and S25 lines. You can use the stylus to draw in the Moto Note app, and artificial intelligence will "bring consumers' drawings to life" according to Motorola. The Chicago-based company also says the Stylus will also support AI photo enhancement features to improve images, regardless of the lighting conditions of the picture, and other Google AI features like Circle to Search. The Moto G Stylus has a 6.7-inch 1,220p display that runs at a 120Hz refresh rate and a 3,000-nit max brightness level that is rather impressive since the phone costs $400. The Moto G Stylus comes in two colors with wild names: Pantone Gibraltar Sea and Pantone Surf the Web. Both appear to be different shades of blue with the former veering on navy while the seems looks closer to purple. The phone has IP68 water protection, which Motorola says will allow it to be submerged in 1.5 meters of water for up to 30 minutes. The Stylus has a 50-megapixel main camera and a 13-megapixel ultrawide camera, the latter of which can also take close-up macro photos. There's also a 32-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and video calls. Inside the phone is Qualcomm's Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor, which is also used in the $400 Samsung Galaxy A36. The Moto G Stylus has 256GB of storage alongside 8GB of onboard memory, with the option to virtually increase through a RAM Boost feature. While we need to test it, on a specs level there's a lot of value to appreciate with the Moto G Stylus, even compared with phones such as the $500 Google Pixel 9A. I do wonder about software and security support since it remains an area where the Stylus lags Samsung and Google. The Moto G series in 2025 gets two years of software updates and three years of security updates. For an extra $100 you can get a Pixel 9A with seven years of support, and Samsung provides six years to the similarly priced Galaxy A36. But if fast charging speeds and a long battery life are your biggest priorities, the Stylus may indeed be worth the look, as long as you only want to use the phone for its three year security support period.

This new $400 Motorola has all the display and battery you need - but the stylus sells it for me
Motorola's latest handset may look identical to the Moto G, but under the surface lies more impressive yet affordable power. Motorola started the year off strong. The 2025 Moto G and Moto G Power proved to be solid midrange smartphones thanks to their lengthy battery life, high-definition screens, and decent camera systems. Now the company has announced a third model: the 2025 Moto G Stylus. Also: The best Android phones you can buy (including top models from Samsung and Google) As the name reveals, this model has a built-in stylus to help users jot down notes, navigate the UI, and enable better interactions with such key features as Sketch to Image, which utilizes artificial intelligence to bring crude drawings to life within the Moto Note app. There's also Google's Circle to Search, which lets owners look up on-screen items on the search engine just by circling them. On the surface, the Moto G Stylus looks identical to the Moto G. It houses a 6.7-inch touchscreen, a three-camera array led by a 50MP lens, a 5,000mAh battery, and an IP68 resistance rating. It even has similar dimensions, measuring 166.62 x 77.10 x 8.72mm. However, there are notable differences. Also: This $300 Motorola has a better display and battery life than iPhone 16e - at half the price First, the device has a pOLED Super HD (2,712 x 1,220 pixels) display running at a refresh rate of 120Hz, making it the best screen in Motorola's 2025 series. The 8MP rear camera has been replaced by a 13MP ultrawide option -- one that, according to Motorola, is "integrated with a macro lens... allowing users to fit more within their shot." Even the selfie camera has improved, upgrading to a 32MP lens. You'll have access to the AI features on Google Photos for editing. If that's not enough, Motorola is giving its new smartphone support for the Photo Enhancement Engine, which will automatically improve the quality of photographs and video recordings. Arguably the most significant change is found inside. The 2025 Moto G Stylus runs on Qualcomm's Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 mobile platform, a notably better chipset than the other two phones, which run on a MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset. Regarding RAM, the Stylus model has 8GB of memory, much like the Moto G Power, although that amount can be increased via RAM Boost. It's unknown how much the RAM boost will be, but if it's anything like the Moto G Power, memory could go as high as 24GB. Also: This midrange OnePlus phone is such a good deal, I struggle to recommend pricier flagships Other notable features include a faux leather finish, stereo speakers, plus 68W TurboPower charging. Because of all the various upgrades, the Moto G Stylus will be the most expensive option in the 2025 series. It will retail for $400 and is set to launch on April 17.

Moto G Stylus (2025) brings a new SoC and upgrades for $399
The Moto G Stylus has been a wonderful entry into the smartphone market for users who need a phone with an included stylus sans the heavy price tag. Coming in at $399, the Moto G Stylus 2025 is offering some great specs with some much-wanted AI tools from Google. On April 17, Motorola plans to launch the Moto G Stylus at a nice $399, which places it in the midrange category. Still, it offers some competitive internals to not be brushed off so easily as a cheap device. First off, it brings back the built-in stylus. With some software upgrades in Android 15, the stylus will be useful for Google Photos editing tools, Circle to Search, and Motorola's own Sketch to Image. Sketch to Image works with Moto Note and generates AI artwork from drawn sketches. The Moto G Stylus (2025) is equipped with a brighter display coming in at 3,000 nits. The 6.7-inch pOLED panel runs at 120Hz, which seems to be no different than the previous generation. Inside, the phone runs on a Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset with 8GB of RAM. Qualcomm's Snapdragon 6 line has proven to be a workhorse without the cost of the highest specs available. The rear of the phone touts a 50MP main camera sensor with a 13MP ultrawide and integrated macro lens. The main unit is a Sony Lytia 700C sensor, which is found in some other Motorola devices, though it's new to the Moto G Stylus lineup in 2025. Motorola notes that it's using its own Photo Enhancement Engine to process captured content. It'll be exciting to see if this processing engine is any better, as Motorola has already had a record of rather good post-processing. It seems that the 3.5mm audio jack has been dropped in the 2025 version. A 5,000mAh battery has become common, but that doesn't mean it's any less useful. That cell will be charged via 68W Turbo Charging, so long as there is a capable brick around. It also packs 15W wireless charging, though a proprietary charger is also needed for that speed. As is the tradition, the Moto G Stylus comes in a couple of stunning colors and materials. Both "Gibraltar Sea" and "Surf the Web" are available, as well as a faux leather finish. As mentioned, Motorola plans on launching the Moto G Stylus (2025) on April 17 for $399.

Moto G Stylus 2025 arrives to tempt Galaxy S25 Ultra buyers away
Are you looking for a smartphone with a stylus but aren't interested in splashing out for the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra? Once again, Motorola raises its hand to catch your attention, and in the other it holds the new Moto G Stylus 2025, which costs a lot less than the Galaxy S25 Ultra, but still has the all-important stylus inside. The built-in stylus can be used with Google's Circle to Search feature and with Motorola's own Sketch to Image feature, which uses AI to turn your sketches into AI art for the Moto Note app. It can be used elsewhere on the phone, such as interacting with system settings and apps, and Motorola claims it is 6.4x more responsive than the previous Moto G Stylus's pen. Recommended Videos You use the stylus on a 6.7-inch pOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak 3,000 nits brightness. The phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor with 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage space, while the phone's body has an IP68 dust and water resistance rating and meets MIL-STD-810H toughness standards. A 5,000mAh battery with 68W TurboPower fast charging supplies the energy, and it's great to see the phone also come with 15W wireless charging for some added convenience. Google's Android 15 software is installed, and the phone also has stereo speakers. Motorola's continued partnership with color experts Pantone means the Moto G Stylus 2025 comes in two special colors: Pantone Gibraltar Sea and Pantone Surf the Web, both of which are shades of blue. The camera is made up of a main 50-megapixel camera with optical image stabilization, a 13MP wide-angle camera with a 120-degree field of view, and a light sensor to assist with exposure and color balance. On the front is a 32-megapixel selfie camera. There are several AI features including Motorola's Photo Enhancement Engine, and some Google AI editing features which can be used with the stylus. Motorola will release the Moto G Stylus 2025 on April 17 and it will cost $400. It'll be sold through Motorola's own website, Amazon, and Best Buy, plus a wide range of carriers including T-Mobile and Verizon. It will subsequently be released in Canada on May 13. The G Stylus 2025's specification is similar to the Motorola Edge 60 Fusion announced earlier in April, which will be sold in the U.K. and Europe, but does not come with a stylus.
