Solos AirGo Vision Smart Glasses With ChatGPT Integration Launched
The Solos AirGo Vision is powered by OpenAI's GPT-4o AI model It is available in three colours and two frame styles Solos AirGo Vision starts at Rs. 25,878 Solos AirGo Vision, a new pair of smart glasses powered by artificial intelligence (AI), were launched on Tuesday. The smart glasses come equipped with front cameras and OpenAI's GPT-4o AI model to answer queries about the user's surroundings. In functionality, the device is similar to the Meta Ray-Ban smart glasses, although the Solos wearable cannot record videos. The smart glasses also feature virtual buttons and support USB Type-C charging. The device will go on sale later this year and will be available to be shipped to India as well. The Solos AirGo Vision price starts at Rs. 25,878 in India or $299 in the US for the AI-enabled frames. For an additional cost, users can purchase prescription lenses and choose from blue blocker, photochromic, or polarised lenses. In the US, users can also opt for a bundle offer with the smart glasses' frames and three frame-fronts for $349. This allows users to choose when to use the front cameras and when to switch them for regular frames. Solos will start shipping the glasses on December 23. Individuals can purchase the device from the official website. The frames are available in the Shiny Black, Dark Crystal Gray, and Shiny Crystal Brown colour options. Solos AirGo Vision smart glasses will be available with either the standard rectangular frames and prominent nose pads or a slimmer version of the frames. The frames feature two cameras but the company did not specify details about the sensors. It is built using TR90 thermoplastic material. While the cameras on the smart glasses can capture photos, there is no option for video recording. The device supports Bluetooth 5.1 and is compatible with both Android and iOS operating systems. The company claims that the Solos AirGo Vision offers 16 hours of operational time that includes capturing photos and making AI enquiries. It is also claimed to offer approximately two days of standby time when connected with a smartphone. It supports USB Type-C charging and is said to offer three hours of operational time with 15 minutes of charging time. The frames also have an IP67 rating for dust and water splash resistance. Coming to features, the Solos AirGo Vision offers a hands-free AI experience where the user can simply speak and ChatGPT will respond to the queries. The chatbot can answer general queries as well as identify and answer questions about objects, people, environments, and text captured by the camera. Additionally, users can also ask the AI to perform complex tasks such as live-translation of text into different languages or asking for directions to nearby locations. The company previously claimed that the frames can be integrated with other AI models such as Gemini or Claude, however, it is unclear whether that feature will be available out-of-the-box or will be added in the future. Apart from AI tasks, the Solos AirGo Vision smart glasses can also be used to capture photos, listen to music, and take calls.

Solos launches AirGo Vision -- ChatGPT-enabled AI smart glasses with a camera
The new glasses with integrated ChatGPT 4.0 is aimed at making wearable AI available to all users. AirGo Vision offers seamless AI integration with features like real-time visual recognition and hands-free operation. With privacy as a core focus, the company said users can easily swap out frames, giving them the flexibility to choose when and where to use the front camera, while otherwise maintaining all other smart functionalities. Solos said AirGo Vision redefines wearable technology by prioritizing user control, convenience, and personalization. "We've been releasing new hardware and software updates constantly over the last year, all driven by what we know consumers are asking for," said Kenneth Fan, cofounder of Solos, in a statement. "One thing we promised to deliver on was allowing consumers to have control of their experience with AI and smart technology, particularly with privacy options in mind. That's why we developed frames that can easily be changed to decide when and where a camera may be appropriate without sacrificing any of the fun features." A design prioritizing privacy and convenience AirGo Vision prioritizes user privacy and personalization with an innovative design that seamlessly integrates a camera on the frame that is inserted directly into the arms of the glasses. Solos' proprietary SmartHinge technology, with USB Type-C connectors, allows users to effortlessly switch between frames giving the choice to use camera-enabled frames or opt for a standard frame while keeping all other smart functions active. This customizable approach provides both flexibility and peace of mind, empowering users to decide when to use the camera, and when to prioritize privacy. Modular AI integration and visual processing With advanced real-time visual recognition, AirGo Vision can instantly identify people, objects, activity, and text, offering responses to questions like, "What am I looking at?", "What am I doing?", "Translate the text on this sign to English," or "Tell me about this monument." Users can also receive directions to popular landmarks such as "Give me directions to the Eiffel Tower" -- or find nearby restaurants, making daily interactions and exploration more intuitive and informative. Designed for hands free convenience, users can also capture photos on command -- ideal for documenting progress in activities like cooking, home improvement, education, or shopping. AirGo Vision's unique open architecture design supports popular AI frameworks like Anthropic's Claude and Google's Gemini, ensuring compatibility across all major mobile platforms, making smart glasses and AI capabilities universally accessible to all consumers. All day wearability with new always-on capabilities The AirGo Vision is designed for all day use, offering continuous AI support for easy access to the internet, weather updates, and news with the SolosChat Online, language translation with SolosTranslate, responding to texts, and more. With an extended battery life, AirGo Vision can support more than 2,500 AI interactions or image captures on a single charge, making them ideal for all day wearability. Responding to valuable user feedback, Solos developed the new always-on mode, eliminating the need to use the Solos AirGo app while interacting with the AI. Now, after opening the app once, it will run in the background on a mobile device without needing to stay open. This ensures essential features like SolosChat remain fully operational without requiring the app to be actively displayed; a truly hands free experience that integrates seamlessly into daily life. Continued eyewear-first mentality Staying true to its eyewear-first approach, each frame style from Solos is designed for lightweight comfort, weighing only 42 grams, making them ideal for all day wear. AirGo Vision will launch in two frame styles, Krypton 1 and Krypton 2, with seven color variations and more options to come, and can be customized with prescription lenses. The frames can also be paired with existing Solos AirGo3 smart glasses. AirGo Vision is now available for purchase on Solosglasses.com and Amazon for $299. You can also purchase the frame only for $149 or bundle a camera frame with a regular frame for enhanced privacy, priced at $349. Born out of Kopin Corporation, with MIT engineers, Solos combines wearable electronics with the comfort and style of traditional eyewear. With an IP portfolio of over 100 patents and patent applications, the company has won a CES Innovation Award four times. It's similar to Meta's Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses, which have been selling well in places like Europe.

Solos challenges Meta's Ray-Bans with $299 ChatGPT smart glasses
Solos' camera-equipped smart glasses have arrived to provide some much-needed competition against Meta's Ray-Bans. The AirGo Vision is available now starting at $299 -- the same price as the Ray-Ban Meta eyewear tech -- and features integration with OpenAI's GPT-4o AI model to identify and answer questions about the people, objects, and text seen by the camera. That allows the AirGo Vision to do things like translate text into different languages, provide directions to nearby locations or landmarks, and give the wearer more information about what they're looking at. Solos says the glasses can also be integrated with other AI models like Google Gemini and Anthropic's Claude, something the company previously teased when it announced the AirGo Vision in June. Like the Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses, the AirGo Vision camera can capture photos on demand. A swappable frame system means that you can wear the glasses with or without the camera -- the battery and touch sensors used to control the device are housed in the frame's USB-C chargeable hinges, providing an audio-only option when paired with the standard, no-camera-included AirGo frames. "One thing we promised to deliver on was allowing consumers to have control of their experience with AI and smart technology, particularly with privacy options in mind," Solos co-founder Kenneth Fan said in the announcement. "That's why we developed frames that can easily be changed to decide when and where a camera may be appropriate without sacrificing any of the fun features." Soros says the Vision comes "with the option to purchase the frame only for $149 or bundle a camera frame with a regular frame for enhanced privacy, priced at $349." It's available in seven colors and two frame styles: Krypton 1, which sports a large square design with prominent nose pads, and the slimmer Krypton 2.

These new smart glasses remind me of Meta Ray-Bans - but have a clever privacy feature
The new wearables have ChatGPT-4o and a detachable camera frame for visual processing, and they're priced about the same as the Meta glasses. Until today, if you wanted to a pair of smart glasses that can both put an AI voice assistant in your ears and be able to process visual information, you'd have -- realistically -- only one option: the Ray-Ban Metas. Also: Forget the Ray-Ban Metas: Samsung's upcoming smart glasses are the wearables I've been waiting for But competition is a wonderful thing, and smart eyewear brand Solos is releasing today its pair of multimodal smart glasses: the AirGo Vision. Much like previous versions of Solos AirGo glasses, there's a ChatGPT-powered voice assistant baked into the system, allowing you ask questions and communicate hands-free. With the AirGo Vision model, the addition of camera sensors in the side frames allows the glasses to process visual information for more context and environmental-based queries. For example, you can ask the Solos to identify people, objects, activities, and text, according to the company. Theoretically, the glasses can help translate text in a foreign language. Users can also tell the glasses to capture photos. Of course, this multimodal aspect is nothing new in the industry. We've seen glasses, pins, and other quirky AI-powered devices leverage cameras to help users better understand their surroundings. But there is one thing that makes the Solos a little more unique: the removable side frames. Due to the modular nature of the wearable, you can easily swap out the camera-mounted side frames for a more traditional pair, fully removing any possibility of miscapturing or capturing things that you shouldn't. Also: Qualcomm's secret project with Samsung and Google is mixed reality smart glasses, and I'm glad Solos also says that the glasses are based on an open-architecture design, meaning they'll support multiple AI frameworks like Anthropic's Claude and Google's Gemini. For someone who has become well acquainted with Gemini and uses it daily for work and play, that's great news. As for battery life, Solos claims the glasses can support up to 2,500 AI interactions or image captures on a single charge. The company is also pushing out a new "Always-On" mode that keeps the onboard AI running even when the companion app is closed. You can buy the Solos AirGo Vision glasses today for $299, with the option to purchase a traditional frame and camera frame for $349, and select from two different styles (Krypton 1 and Krypton 2), seven colors, and prescriptions.

My favorite ChatGPT-powered smart glasses just got a massive upgrade
Including a Ray-Ban Meta-like camera and multi-modal AI boost from ChatGPT-4o I was once told that if I had brains I'd be dangerous. I'm not sure which part of that is more offensive. Is it the questioning of my morality or the fact this statement came from my parents? (Routinely). Thankfully, while existing too early to explore strange new worlds on spaceships, and too late to be sailing the seven seas under the banner of the Jolly Roger, I do occupy the perfect moment in space-time where technology can make me appear like I have an IQ that reaches the triple-digit threshold. My disguise of choice? AI-powered smart glasses. A face-worn revolution that lets me tap into the power of AI so I can quickly find out which months have 31 days again or allow something more reliable than my useless human brain to remind me of when the bins go out. At the start of the year, I reviewed one of my favorites: the Solos AirGo 3 smart glasses -- a pair of ChatGPT-powered frames that kept me connected to the world's most popular AI chatbot while on the go, all the while offering a fitness tracker, music playback, and the Babel Fish-like power of real-time language translation. Now, at the tail end of 2024, Solos is back. From today, you can buy the company's latest AirGo Vision smart glasses for $299 from Amazon or the Solos Store. The new AirGo Vision frames offer an expanded battery life, ChatGPT-4o integration, a discrete LED notification system, and a camera with which to capture moments or identify people, objects, and activities, and feed that information to your AI assistant for more contextually aware replies. The only problem you'll likely have with Solos' new AirGo Vision smart glasses is controlling them, as with all of that powerful technology to hand, hands-free voice operation might be a struggle while you're left speechless. Comparisons to the Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses are unavoidable. Both frames offer a camera, mic, and speaker setup while providing easy access to an AI assistant. However, while Meta's frames are locked to using Meta AI, Solos' makes use of an open-architecture design that supports multiple AI frameworks, from Google Gemini to Anthropic's Claude. It's a neat level of customization that leaves you free to choose your preferred AI copilot to help navigate your day. Featuring a new Always-On mode and an expanded battery life, Solos rates these smart glasses to support up to 2,500 AI interactions or image captures on a single charge. Pair this with the frame's 42 grams of weight and you have the makings of a solid pair of all-day AI glasses. However, making these glasses all the more interesting, Solos has designed them so that you can swap out the front frame for one without a camera. Meaning you can hot-swap for situations that you feel require a little more privacy. You can also grab both of these frames as a bundle for $349. Another area in which the Solos AirGo Vision will shine is when making further use of the company's powerful SolosTranslate features. SolosTranslate offers real-time translation of foreign languages in audio or text forms. The glasses use Solos' built-in Whisper Tech speakers to feed you back the information in your preferred language, and by using the Solos AirGo app you can even output your own speech to several languages through your phone to let others better understand you. With the new visual element, supplied by the smart glasses' camera, you can now also translate the written word at a glance -- understanding signs, menus, and more while traveling. All of this is done with the speed and precision offered by ChatGPT-4o, and makes for a fascinating way to break down the language barrier, and an impressive way to put that green Duolingo owl out of a job. I was greatly impressed with Solos' AirGo 3 smart glasses in January, and the AirGo Vision looks to be a quality improvement on an already solid pair of frames. The thought that's been placed into privacy and customization is commendable, and those who make great use of AI already will no doubt get plenty of play from bringing your preferred AI assistant with you throughout the day. For more information on the AirGo Vision and other Solos smart glasses, check out the Solos Glasses homepage, or to grab a pair yourself, take a look at the AirGo Vision listing on Amazon, or the Solos store.

Solos AirGo Vision smart glasses work with Gemini, now available from $299
After being initially revealed earlier this year, the first pair of smart glasses with Google Gemini are hitting the market in the Solos AirGo Vision. Solos isn't a new name in smart glasses, but the company announced in June that it would be launching the "AirGo Vision," a new pair of smart glasses with support for multimodal AI interactions through OpenAI's GPT-4o model for visual processing. AirGo Vision's unique open-architecture design supports popular AI frameworks like Anthropic's Claude and Google's Gemini, ensuring compatibility across all major mobile platforms, making smart glasses and AI capabilities universally accessible to all consumers. AirGo Vision have a built-in camera and speakers, offering the ability to prompt an AI for voice questions or utilize the camera for multimodal prompts. They can also handle translation features and handle music streaming or voice calls. You'll be able to purchase the AirGo Vision starting today for $299 at Solos' website or at Amazon, while a standalone module that includes the camera and the frame will be $149, designed to be used with existing AirGo3 smart glasses. Bundles with the additional frame styles will be available from $349.

The Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses just got an interesting new competitor
Wearing a camera on your face can make you and others uncomfortable. That's something Solos has addressed in its latest pair of smart glasses, the Solos AirGo Vision. While the frame has a camera in it, the unusual modular design means you can swap the front plate out for one without a camera without losing the AirGo Vision's other features. Recommended Videos The AirGo Vision's camera takes photos and enables visual search, so you can "look" at something and ask the AI in the smart glasses to tell you more about it, plus the camera will help translate text. Other features include directions to popular landmarks and restaurants. Solos uses an open architecture, so you can choose different AI frameworks, with Google Gemini, ChatGPT, and Claude all supported. When you want all the AI functionality without the camera, Solos' SmartHinge system comes into play. The front of the smart glasses are attached to the arms using USB-C connectors, and you simply pull each arm off and put them on a non-Vision AirGo front plate. This modularity means you never have to worry about others being concerned about the camera mounted on the AirGo Vision. We've seen the SmartHinge feature in action on a pair of Solos AirGo 3 smart glasses already, and it's a simple process that takes just a few moments. Please enable Javascript to view this content Alongside the new hardware, Solos has updated the companion app with new features. Most importantly, it now supports always-on use, with the app running in the background so you can interact verbally with the glasses without having the app open in front of you anymore. The app facilitates internet searches, weather reports, and access to news. Solos has two frame designs for the AirGo Vision, Krypton 1 and Krypton 2, as well as seven different color options. It's possible to order the smart glasses with prescription lenses. There are also several ways to purchase the AirGo Vision. The first is with the camera for $299, but if you already own a pair of Solos AirGo smart glasses, you can buy just the front plate with the camera for $149. The other option is to buy the AirGo Vision with a non-camera front plate included for $349. The Solos AirGo Vision's top rival are the Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses, where a ring around the camera lights up to show it's operating to reduce privacy concerns.
