How Cisco is Using Apple Vision Pro to Create the Next Evolution of Spatial Collaboration
Cisco has always had an obsession of putting the user experience at the center of everything we do. And part of that commitment is providing the best possible experiences for Webex users on Apple devices. We demonstrated this earlier this year with our launch of Webex for Apple Vision Pro. Today marks another step in this evolution with Cisco Spatial Meetings for Apple Vision Pro. It takes a concept we call "Distance Zero" to the next level using spatial computing. In the era of hybrid work, it can be hard to replicate the feeling of in-person collaboration when all the participants are not together in the same physical space. Distance Zero is our vision for breaking down barriers by eliminating the sense of distance between people. We're delivering Distance Zero experiences today through our Cisco devices and Webex software using purpose-built AI for audio and video. The experience is so inclusive and engaging, that people feel like they're in the same room together even when they're not. Now we're extending that vision by introducing an experience that lets our customers engage in a spatial video environment. Cisco Spatial Meetings enables Apple Vision Pro users to interact with others like they're right there with them. Imagine having life-like video with such incredible depth that the experience is breathtaking. It's not just video conferencing. It's a meeting experience where people and objects come to life with amazing realism. Cisco uniquely delivers this, thanks to our AI-powered devices with NVIDIA chipsets and dual-lens cameras that can capture every nuance in a three-dimensional (3D) environment. It's like turning any room with a Cisco Room Bar Pro into a 3D studio for things like product demos, remote training, education and more with video that includes remarkable depth and dimension. Think of all the use cases for companies in industries like manufacturing, retail, and healthcare. I believe that this combination of Cisco Spatial Meetings and Apple Vision Pro will drive unprecedented levels of creativity, productivity, and innovation. Once you experience this, you'll fully appreciate our commitment to product design excellence. I'm proud of our team for this innovation, and for taking yet another step forward in our commitment to give workers the flexibility they deserve to collaborate on their own terms.

Cisco Spatial Meetings now available for Apple Vision Pro
Cisco Spatial Meetings have been announced for Apple Vision Pro. Cisco has updated its Webex application for the Apple Vision Pro with the introduction of Cisco Spatial Meetings and the Webex AI Assistant. Webex has been available as a native application since the launch of Apple Vision Pro, back in February of 2024. Cisco also has Webex applications for the Apple TV and Apple Watch, which let users participate in meetings via the two platforms. Now, Cisco's latest update to its Apple Vision Pro application makes it possible to engage in virtual meetings with the headset. Through the so-called Cisco Spatial Meetings, users will be able to conduct product demos, organize education and training sessions, and much more. Cisco revealed the idea behind the concept it calls Distance Zero. As its name would imply, the goal was to improve hybrid work by eliminating the sense of distance between people during meetings, especially in cases where participants are far away from each other. The company used purpose-built AI for audio and video to make this happen. It's worth pointing out, though, that Cisco Spatial Meetings require an additional device to work. The feature is only available when the user has both an Apple Vision Pro as well as a Cisco Room Bar. The latter is an AI-powered device featuring NVIDIA chipsets and dual-lens cameras. The company believes that its Spatial Meetings feature will have applications in a multitude of different sectors, including manufacturing, retail, and healthcare. The Apple Vision Pro by itself is already used by some surgeons, so the use of Webex for virtual meetings on the device isn't hard to imagine. In addition to Cisco Spatial Meetings, a new AI assistant for Webex on the Apple Vision Pro was announced. The assistant will help people improve their productivity with summaries, writing assistance, and meeting catch-up features.
