Google's AI Mode gets new agentic capabilities to help book event tickets and beauty appointments
Google announced on Tuesday that it's launching new agentic capabilities in AI Mode, its feature that allows users to ask complex questions and follow-ups to dig deeper on a topic directly within Search. Users can now get help with booking event tickets and beauty and wellness appointments in AI Mode. For example, you can ask "find me 2 cheap tickets for the Shaboozey concert coming up. prefer standing floor tickets." AI Mode will then search across multiple websites to find real-time ticket options that meet your specific requests. It will then present you with a curated list of ticket prices to choose from. AI Mode links you directly to the booking page so you can finalize your purchase. The new agentic capabilities are available to all users opted into Google's experimental arm, Search Labs, in the U.S. The company notes that Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers have access to high limits. Google first brought agentic capabilities to AI Mode back in August, when it started letting people use the feature to find restaurant reservations. With this capability, you can request dinner reservations based on multiple preferences, such as party size, date, time, location, and preferred cuisine. For example, you could ask "find me a dinner reservation for 3 people this Friday after 6pm around Logan square. craving ramen or bibimbap." AI Mode will then search across different reservation platforms to find real-time availability for restaurants that match the inquiry. It then surfaces a curated list of options to choose from. "Our priority in Google Search is connecting you with high-quality information you can rely on," Google explained on its Search Labs page. "This new mode is rooted in our core quality and safety systems, but it's still an early experiment and may make mistakes." Google first launched AI Mode in March to take on popular services like Perplexity AI and OpenAI's ChatGPT Search. Since then, the tech giant has brought AI Mode to more than 180 countries and has been building it out with new functionalities. For instance, AI Mode recently got access to a Canvas feature that helps you build study plans and organize information over multiple sessions in a side panel. It also now lets you use Google Lens to ask about what's on your desktop screen.

Google's AI mode agents can snag event tickets for you now - here's how
Follow ZDNET: Add us as a preferred source on Google. ZDNET's key takeaways * Google's AI mode uses agents to help you book event tickets. * The agents can also find wellness spas and restaurant tables. * The skill is available through Search Labs to all Google users. Finding tickets to your favorite events can be challenging, especially with prices at many venues so sky-high. Why not get a helping hand from AI? For that, you can turn to the latest agentic powers brought to you by Google's AI mode. On Tuesday, Google Search VP Robby Stein announced two new skills available through AI mode's agents. Specifically, you can now ask for assistance booking event tickets and beauty and wellness appointments. Available through Google's Search Labs, this help is accessible to all Google users, both free and paid. However, those with AI Pro and AI Ultra subscriptions will enjoy higher limits. Also: You can talk with Google Maps now, thanks to its big Gemini upgrade - how it works The two new skills are just the latest ones on tap through Google's AI mode. In August, the company spruced up its AI-powered search with agents designed to find and help you book restaurant reservations. The idea is to provide a smarter search engine that can carry out tasks on your behalf rather than you tackling each step yourself. How it works Head to the Search Labs page for "Agentic capabilities in AI Mode." Make sure you're signed in with your Google account and then click the Try it out button. At the prompt, type your request for event seats, a restaurant table, or an appointment at a beauty or wellness spa. In your description, you'll want to specify the venue or city, the date or dates you'd like to book, and any other relevant details. "For example," as Google said on the page, "you can now ask 'find me a dinner reservation for 3 people this Friday after 6pm around Logan square, craving ramen or bibimbap' or 'find me 2 cheap tickets for the Shaboozey concert coming up, prefer standing floor tickets.'" On my end, I asked it to find two tickets for a game at Yankee Stadium between the Yankees and the Red Sox for any Saturday or Sunday afternoon in June, July, or August of 2026. In response, the AI found two possible dates and then offered to browse current availability and recommend top options for me. After I told it to start the task, Google kicked off 16 different searches looking at a variety of different ticket providers. In the end, the search found cheap, premium, and value seats for both of the games across a range of providers. I chose a "Best Deal" option for lower-level seating, taking me to a StubHub page where I could directly purchase the tickets. The process is the same for restaurant reservations or wellness and beauty appointments. I asked the AI to find a table for four people at an Italian restaurant in the theater district in Manhattan for this coming Saturday afternoon. Here, the results found several possible places with links to book a table via OpenTable through Google. Also: How to turn off Gemini in your Gmail, Photos, Chrome, and more - it's easy to opt out of AI Next, I asked it to find an appointment at a wellness spa in Greenwich Village for this coming Sunday. For this one, Google came up with several suitable spots, allowing me to directly book one of my choice. "AI Mode will search across multiple websites to find real-time availability for reservation or ticket options that meet your specific needs and then present you with a curated list with available time slots or ticket prices to choose from," Google said on its page. "AI Mode does the legwork and links you directly to the booking page, so you can easily take the last step and finalize your reservation."

Google's agentic AI Mode experiment has learned some new tricks
You can also set us as a preferred source in Google Search by clicking the button below. To take advantage of these new options, you'll need to sign up for the experiment on Google Labs. Once you've done that, you can ask AI Mode to find tickets or reservation slots for "beauty & wellness" appointments. Set Google to the task, and it'll take a couple of minutes to research your options, eventually serving up links to manually confirm what you want on service provider websites. That last bit is important -- AI makes mistakes and event tickets are pricey, so you probably don't want to leave any transactions to chance.

Google's AI Mode now books your event tickets and beauty appointments for you
If you've ever tried to book concert tickets during a big sale or reserve a table for Friday night and found yourself juggling tabs, Google just made your life a lot easier. Its latest update to AI Mode, goes way beyond answering questions, it can now track down event tickets and book beauty or wellness appointments for you, just by chatting in Search. Picture this: You ask, "Find me four VIP tickets for the [X] concert in December. Standing floor tickets ideally." Instead of sending you off to wrestle with ticket sites, AI Mode scans multiple platforms and brings you live ticket options, directly in your search window. With one tap, you're directed to the booking page; no more refreshing four different sites or missing out when the good deals slip away. But AI mode isn't stopping at concerts. Let's say Friday's around the corner, and you're in the mood for pizza or sushi in your local town. You state your group size, time preference, and of course, cravings; and Google's AI combs through reservation sites to find matches that align with your plans in real time. It's like having a super organzied friend who knows the internet inside out, and ready to suggest the best restaurants with no fuss. Currently, this agentic capability is rolling out in the US to users who've opted into Google's Search Labs, almost like a VIP club for experimental features. While Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers have access to 'high limits'. Though this Google magic hasn't landed worldwide just yet, its debut in 180+ countries hints that global access is on the horizon. "Our priority in Google Search is connecting you with high-quality information you can rely on," Google explained on its Search Labs page. "This new mode is rooted in our core quality and safety systems, but it's still an early experiment and may make mistakes." This is the second major update after Google first launched its AI mode in March; when it already starting flexing its agentic muscles with restaurant bookings and the Canvas tool (for managing study plans and projects). Also, it now lets you use Google Lens to query what's on your desktop screen.

Google's AI Mode Can Now Arrange Your Appointments and Event Tickets
Google's AI Mode has new agentic capabilities for booking event tickets and beauty and wellness appointments, so AI will do most of the work to find and curate the best options based on your inputs. Google first launched agentic capabilities for AI Mode in August: The initial feature could help locate restaurant reservations based on inputs like party size, location, cuisine, and preferred dates and times. For example, you can enter "find me a table for 8 people next Saturday for a birthday dinner ... thinking outdoor rustic garden vibes with live music" and AI Mode will return suggestions with links to book. While they won't actually finalize the reservation for you, Google's AI agents can present you with real-time availability using live web browsing as well as integrations with OpenTable, Resy, Tock, Ticketmaster, StubHub, SeatGeek, and Booksy. Google Flights also has an AI tool called Flight Deals, which can suggest itineraries based on a general search query (or simply your current location) and then connect you to the main Google Flights interface with links for booking. As with restaurant reservations, AI Mode can conduct searches for tickets to events, such as concerts, as well as wellness appointments like haircuts and massages. Enter parameters like performer name or preferred service and pricing, and the AI agent will return recommendations with instructions on how to finalize your booking. For example, I used queries like "I'd like to get a massage in the next two weeks with someone specializing in sports massage. Prefer availability on Fridays or in the evenings." and "Find me tickets for the upcoming Nate Bargatze show in Utah. Prefer mid-range pricing." AI Mode compiled ticket options broken down by show date and ticket price and provide links to the booking platforms (like StubHub, SeatGeek, and Vivid Seats) with the cheapest tickets for each event. Again, the agent can't actually complete the transaction, but it can get you all the way to that final step. According to Google's Search Labs page, these agentic features are available to U.S. users ages 18 and over who are signed into their personal Google Account. You must have Web & App Activity turned on and enable Agentic capabilites in AI Mode.

Google announced on Tuesday that it is expanding the capabilities of AI Mode, its experimental feature in Google Search, to include new "agentic" functions for booking tickets and appointments. The update allows users in Search Labs to ask AI Mode to handle complex tasks like finding and booking event tickets or beauty and wellness appointments. For example, a user can now ask, "Find me two cheap tickets for the Shaboozey concert coming up. Prefer standing floor tickets." AI Mode will then search multiple booking websites in real-time, present a curated list of ticket prices that match the request, and provide direct links to finalize the purchase. These new agentic capabilities are available to all users in the U.S. who have opted into Google's experimental Search Labs. The company noted that subscribers to its Google AI Pro and Ultra plans will have access to high usage limits for the feature. AI Mode was first launched in March to compete with services like Perplexity AI and OpenAI's ChatGPT Search, and has since rolled out to over 180 countries. Google's Search Labs page reminds users that while the feature is rooted in its core quality and safety systems, "it's still an early experiment and may make mistakes."
