You can now get 50% off Google's AI Pro plan with Nano Banana Pro (but there's a catch)
The AI Pro plan includes Nano Banana Pro, the Deep Research tool, 2TB of cloud storage, and other perks. Google has a variety of AI services you can use at no cost, including Gemini, Nano Banana, and more. The company also offers subscription plans if you want more advanced capabilities and a ton of cloud storage. Now, Google has announced a hefty discount on one of these plans. Google confirmed via the Gemini Twitter account that it's offering 50% off the Google AI Pro annual plan. The Google AI Pro plan offers Nano Banana Pro, the Deep Research tool, the more advanced Gemini 3 Pro plan, and 2TB of cloud storage. Other benefits include higher usage limits in services like NotebookLM and Jules, access to the Flow tool, and AI-powered calling for local businesses in the US. Not seeing this promotion in your market? That might be because the offer only applies to new subscribers. In fact, a Google employee clarified that existing Google One subscribers can't take advantage of this deal, either. The employee noted in other tweets that this promotion was available in regions like Chile, the EU, and the UK. It's unclear when the deal expires, but the deal URL and tweet suggest that it'll be available until December 31. So you likely still have some time if you're considering a purchase.

Google's AI Pro plan gets a huge year-end discount

Unless you are a student or recently purchased a Pixel phone, you must subscribe to Google's AI Pro tier to unlock Gemini's full capabilities. Free Google accounts only get limited access to select Gemini features. If you have been on the fence about upgrading, especially because of the price, Google is offering a last-minute gift before 2026 arrives: 50% off its annual AI Pro subscription. While Gemini's X post only mentions a discount on the AI Pro plan, you can get a similar discount on almost all Google One plans, with only one exception. The Basic plan, which will expand your Google account storage by 100GB, is discounted to only $10 for the whole year. That's over 50% off its annual subscription of $20. Similarly, the Premium plan with 2TB storage is available for only $50 -- down from its yearly price of $100. Both plans do not provide higher limits for using Gemini 3 Pro or more AI credits. Instead, they will only increase your Google account storage, which you can share with up to five other family members. The Google AI Pro (2TB) plan is currently discounted to $100 for a full year, a $100 reduction from its regular price. The subscription includes priority access to the latest Gemini model, higher rate limits for Gemini and Nano Banana Pro, additional features and filters in Google Photos, access to Whisk with Veo 3, and Google Home Premium Standard. That's on top of higher rate limits for several other AI tools from Google, such as Antigravity, Gemini CLI, and Code Assist. No discount on Ultra tier Unfortunately, for power users, Google is not offering a similar last-minute discount on the AI Ultra tier, which costs $200 per month. The deal is also not available in all regions. The 50% off only applies to new users. So, if you are an existing subscriber or have previously paid for Google AI Pro, your account won't likely be eligible for the offer. Also note that the plan will auto-renew after one year at its original price unless canceled. You Can Now Get Google One and Gemini Annual Plan for Half the Price
Google AI Pro offers higher rate limits to the Gemini 3 Pro AI model Google, on Wednesday, announced a new offer for eligible users that slashes the price of the Google AI Pro annual plan by 50 percent. It is a limited-time offer, and there are caveats as to who can avail the benefits and who cannot, but with the new pricing, the Mountain View-based tech giant is letting individuals access its full suite of artificial intelligence (AI) features with higher rate limits without it weighing too heavily on the wallet. Additionally, a report claims that a similar discount is being offered on Google One's annual plans as well. Google One, Google AI Pro Plans Cheaper by 50 Percent In a post on X (formerly known as Twitter), the official handle of Gemini announced a 50 percent flat discount on the annual Google AI Pro plan. The offer is only available to new subscribers, meaning they should not have purchased the plan previously from that Google account. Additionally, the discount is only available in select regions. It is available in the US, but Gadgets 360 staff members were not able to confirm it in India. Further, the offer is only valid till January 15. So, for a new subscriber in the US, the 12-month Google AI Pro plan, which is usually priced at $199.99 (roughly Rs. 17,950) for the first year, is priced at $99.99 (roughly Rs. 9,000). After the offer period, the next year will be charged at $239.88. Do note that the subscription auto-renews after the duration of the offer, so users who do not wish to continue should either turn off auto-pay or disable the mandate. With the Google AI Pro subscription, users will get higher access to the Gemini 3 Pro AI model, Nano Banana Pro, Deep Research, Veo 3.1 Fast for video generation, as well as access to the Gemini chatbot across the company's Workspace products. Users will also enjoy 2TB of cloud storage across Drive, Photos, and Gmail. Separately, a 9to5Google report stated that Google One is also running a similar offer where new subscribers can get a 50 percent discount on the annual plans. The terms and conditions are the same as the Gemini plan. With this change, the Basic 100GB plan will cost users $9.99 (roughly Rs. 900) for 12 months instead of $19.99 (roughly Rs. 1,800). Similarly, the Premium 2TB plan, which typically charges $99.99 (roughly Rs. 9,000) for a year, is currently available for $49.99 (roughly Rs. 4,490).

Google One rolls out massive price drop on 2TB and AI Pro plans: Everything you need to know
The offer is exclusive to first-time subscribers and ends around New Year's Eve. As the new year approaches, Google has rolled out a special limited-time offer on Google One plans for its new users who are looking to explore its AI tools. The company is giving discounts on some yearly AI plans. It presents smart features as something people can use every day, not just a special extra. Along with cloud storage, these tools offer quicker insights, personalised summaries, and easier use across different devices. The promotion is open only to new subscribers and is expected to run through the final days of December, ending around New Year's Eve. By tying the offer to the holiday transition, Google signals its confidence that AI will be a practical part of daily digital life in the year ahead, not just an experimental add-on. One thing to keep in mind is that this discounted Google One offer is strictly for new subscribers. Users who already have an active Google One or AI Pro subscription will not be able to take advantage of the offer. Furthermore, the offer is only available for annual plans and is expected to expire around New Year's Eve. Originally priced at Rs 708, you can get it for Rs 499 for one year. This allows shared storage across Gmail, Google Drive, and Google Photos, which should be quite convenient for users who need that extra little space for their emails, documents, and photo backups. For users wanting more storage, the Basic plan (100 GB) is available at Rs 1,049 for the first year, instead of the usual price of Rs 1,560. This also shares storage across Gmail, Google Drive, and Google Photos and can, therefore, be shared with up to five other people, making it a good value option for families. The Premium 2 TB plan is available at Rs 5,399 for the first 12 months (instead of Rs 7,800), after which it costs Rs 6,500 per year. This provides 2 TB of storage space, Gemini with Pro-level features, limited Veo 3.1, and some AI features such as Flow, Whisk, and NotebookLM. There's an additional 200 AI credits every month and AI-backed integrations coming into Gmail and Google Docs. In addition, users get 1,000 monthly AI credits, higher usage limits across most AI tools, and all benefits included in the Premium plan. Users also get higher limits inside the Gemini app. Gemini 3 Pro allows up to 100 prompts per day. For image creation and editing, Nano Banana supports up to 1,000 images daily, while Nano Banana Pro allows 100 images per day. Video creation is also part of the plan, with up to three short videos per day using Veo 3.1 Fast. The AI Pro plan adds deeper support across Google apps, and users can generate up to 20 deep research reports per day and work with very long documents using a large context window. AI tools appear directly inside Gmail, Docs, and Drive, making everyday tasks quicker. Other than that, the users will also get higher limits that will be applied to Google Photos, NotebookLM, Flow, and Whisk. Developers also get added access to tools like Gemini CLI, Gemini Code Assist, and Jules.

The promotion comes with strict limitations that have frustrated some potential users. Google confirmed the discount applies exclusively to new subscribers, meaning anyone who previously purchased the plan or holds an existing Google One subscription cannot take advantage of the offer

3
. The deal appears set to expire around December 31 or January 15 depending on the region, though Google has not provided definitive clarity on the exact end date3

.Notably absent from the promotion is the AI Ultra tier, which continues at its regular $200 monthly price point without any discount
2
. This suggests Google is strategically targeting mid-tier users who want enhanced capabilities but aren't ready to commit to enterprise-level spending.Related Stories

. By tying the discount to the holiday transition period, the company appears to be building momentum for broader AI adoption in 2026. However, users should note that subscriptions auto-renew after one year at the original pricing—$239.88 for AI Pro—unless manually canceled3
.This aggressive pricing strategy may pressure competitors to respond with similar offers, potentially reshaping the consumer AI subscription landscape in the coming months. For users considering the switch, the immediate question centers on whether the enhanced capabilities justify the eventual full-price renewal, and whether Google will maintain feature parity as the AI tools mature throughout the subscription period.
