Haier unveils new AI-led Gravity AC lineup, priced from Rs 49,990
Haier India has introduced its new Gravity AI Series air conditioners. These premium units feature AI-driven climate personalisation and predictive cooling. The series also includes India's first fully automatic outdoor unit cleaning system. Haier is expanding its manufacturing and aims for a significant share of the AC market by 2030. Haier Appliances India on Friday unveiled its Gravity AI Series air conditioners, said to be the company's most premium and AI-integrated line yet. Powered by the new AI-AtmoX platform, the series introduces features such as AI-driven climate personalisation, predictive cooling and India's first fully automatic outdoor-unit cleaning system. According to Haier, the Gravity AI Series uses AI-AtmoX across three layers: energy savings, comfort and service. These help deliver real-time power optimisation, adaptive cooling based on user behaviour, and automated self-cleaning for both indoor and outdoor units. "Our Gravity AI Series represents the next frontier in AI-driven appliances," said NS Satish, President, Haier Appliances India. He added that 90% of Haier's products are now locally made as part of its "Made in India, Made for India" strategy, which includes strengthening component localisation for a more agile supply chain. Satish said Haier has shifted almost entirely to digital in its marketing strategy. "We haven't released even a single print ad in 2025," he told ET Online. The brand is using AI tools to speed up creative turnaround, personalise campaigns and optimise spending across digital, connected TV and sports-entertainment properties, backed by in-market pushes through e-commerce and Haier's own direct-to-consumer channels. He added that air conditioners are the appliance category that stands to benefit the most from AI because they can sense, clean and optimise cooling dynamically. At the same time, Haier is pushing AI across its broader portfolio -- from televisions and washing machines to refrigerators -- as it works to build an interconnected device ecosystem. Satish said this multi-category approach is also helping Haier build its own interconnected device ecosystem, joining the likes of Samsung and Xiaomi in trying to create cross-device control inside Indian homes. "Today our devices can talk to each other," he said. "If you have a television, you can control your air conditioner. If you have a washing machine, you can control it through the TV. The refrigerator can be controlled through the TV as well." Haier believes this interoperability will help deepen customer engagement and extend the lifetime value of its users. Satish also noted that AI's value goes beyond hardware performance, calling it a brand mover. "AI pushes the brand up," he said, adding that it helps attract consumers who prioritise comfort and convenience over traditional specs. Haier sees AI as a tool for premiumisation and stronger consumer stickiness, rather than something that can be tied to a specific growth percentage. The Gravity AI Series starts at Rs 49,990 and will be available across online and offline retailers in four colour variants -- Morning Mist, Moon Stone Grey, Midnight Dream and White. Haier is simultaneously scaling up its manufacturing footprint. With Phase 2 of its AC plant and a new injection-moulding facility coming online at Greater Noida in early 2025, the company's annual AC capacity will rise from 1.5 million units to 4 million by 2027. The brand, which currently holds an 8% share of India's AC market, is targeting 17% by 2030.

Haier has expanded its premium air conditioning portfolio with the launch of the Gravity AI series, a new line of AI-powered ACs unveiled at the company's AI for Air event in Greater Noida. These air conditioners are designed around Haier's in-house AI-AtmoX platform and aim to offer intelligent cooling with predictive climate control, automated maintenance and advanced energy optimisation. The Gravity AI series is positioned as Haier's most technologically advanced AC range yet and is built on the company's three core AI pillars- reduced power consumption, personalised comfort and automated servicing. The company has also introduced a first-of-its-kind outdoor unit auto-cleaning technology in India, which uses reverse airflow to clear dust without any manual intervention. The indoor unit also follows an automated frost cleaning cycle every 240 hours. The ACs come equipped with AI Climate Control 2.0, which analyses the user behaviour, indoor-outdoor temperatures, and real-time comfort patterns to adjust cooling dynamically. It also offers a host of features like AI Pre-Cooling, which uses geofencing to detect when a user is close to home and begin cooling in advance, along with AI Target Cooling, which directs airflow to specific areas based on installation data. The company has also focused on energy efficiency. The AC uses AI-AtmoX Power Manager that tracks daily and monthly electric consumption, displays real-time power costs and allows users to set customised saving goals. The company recently expanded its Greater Noida plant with a new injection moulding facility and Phase 2 of its AC factory, increasing the total AC production capacity to four million units by 2027.
