The new centre will present its AI agents and orchestration tools while helping enterprises co-design effective AI strategies. IBM opened its new Agentic AI Innovation Centre in its Bengaluru office on July 16, to help enterprises co-create and experiment with autonomous AI agents. The facility enables clients to build agents, fine-tune Small Language Models (SLMs), and audit outcomes within hours, signaling a strong push toward practical and hands-on AI adoption in enterprise settings. The centre will support clients, partners, and startups in accelerating AI adoption, driving co-innovation, and enabling developers through hands-on learning and collaboration with IBM AI experts. During the inauguration, Dinesh Nirmal, SVP, IBM Software said, "The IBM Agentic AI centre brings this vision to life by urging local enterprises to evolve their AI strategy from reactive to proactive." Developer hangouts and AI Accelerator Days will be organised for an ongoing engagement with the community to foster learning in the latest advancements in AI technology and deep engagement that leads to building tangible outcomes. At the core of the centre and IBM's agentic AI strategy is IBM watsonx Orchestrate, a unified platform that enables businesses to build, deploy, and manage AI agents and assistants while integrating them seamlessly into their existing technology stack. "To unlock its full potential and realise the vision of Viksit Bharat, Indian enterprises must deepen their understanding and focus on high-impact use cases," Sandip Patel, managing director, IBM India and South Asia, said. "With its new Agentic AI Innovation Center, IBM will drive industry-wide collaboration, nurture homegrown innovation, and ensure scalable, real-world impact within a strong governance framework." A recent survey by IBM, in collaboration with Oxford Economics, found that 78% of Indian leaders see the greatest value of agentic AI in improving decision-making. The same proportion are encouraging employees to experiment with these tools, reflecting a strong culture of innovation and progressive leadership.
