After reports, Qualcomm and Samsung have confirmed that the new Snapdragon 8 Elite Mobile Platform for Galaxy powers the Galaxy S25 series globally. This revolutionizes intelligent mobile experiences on the most powerful and world's fastest mobile system-on-a-chip, said the company. It features the second-generation custom Qualcomm Oryon CPU, new Qualcomm Adreno GPU, and Qualcomm Hexagon NPU for on-device AI capabilities promising unparalleled performance, transforming the way users interact with their Galaxy AI device. It has up to 4.47GHz peak speeds, compared to 4.32GHz in the standard Snapdragon 8 Elite. There is Snapdragon X80 5G Modem-RF System and Qualcom FastConnect 7800 Mobile Connectivity System for ultra-fast cellular and Wi-Fi 7 speeds. Additionally, the Galaxy S25 series are the first commercial devices to feature Snapdragon Satellite, which allows consumers to send and receive messages via satellite (narrowband NTN) natively supported in Android OS. Samsung has juts announced the new Galaxy S25 lineup with major focus on AI features and based on the first look, the devices do feel refreshed. While the general design language is more or less the same, the company ensured that the Galaxy S25 Ultra is way faster than last year's model. It is now being reported that the new Snapdragon 8 Elite chip for Galaxy is a slightly tweaked version developed by Qualcomm solely for the new handsets. The new version offers better CPU and GPU performance compared to the standard variant of the chipset. The Snapdragon 8 Elite chip is miles ahead of Qualcomm's previous chips for smartphones with notable computational and graphical performance gains. Samsung and Qualcomm also worked together to customize the chipset for the Galaxy S25's unique display specifications.
