Samsung's New Galaxy Buds 3 FE Cost $100 Less Than the Flagship Galaxy Buds 3 Pro
Maggie Award for Best Regularly Featured Web Column/Consumer Samsung's $250 flagship Galaxy Buds 3 Pro are among the top noise-canceling earbuds. Now Samsung has launched the more affordable "fan edition"Galaxy Buds 3 FE that look nearly identical to the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro but are missing those buds' LED lighting element, have a single-driver design instead of a dual-driver design and leave off a few other features. They're available on Sept. 4 in black or gray. Read more: Best wireless earbuds of 2025 Like the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro, the Galaxy Buds 3 FE have a noise-isolating design with silicone ear tips, and they feature noise-canceling as well as a transparency mode. Samsung is touting their AI features, which include "accessing Gemini for conversational AI assistance and Galaxy AI Interpreter app to use Real-Time Interpreter or Live Translate to translate phone calls." The Galaxy Buds 3 FE's "blade" design is a departure from the early Galaxy Buds FE ($70), which have a stemless design with wing tips that help lock the buds in your ears. Since I haven't tried the Galaxy Buds 3 FE yet I can't tell you how much their performance differs from the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro's, but I suspect there will be a slight drop off in sound quality due to the fact that the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro have a planar driver alongside a dynamic driver that helps improve clarity and treble performance. The Galaxy Buds 3 Pro are regularly on sale (you can get the Latin American version for $125 on Amazon) and Samsung says you can trade-in any wired or wireless headset and receive up to $30 off the Galaxy Buds 3 FE. So they, too should be regularly discounted and perhaps dip to around $100 during the holiday buying season. I'll let you know how they compare to the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro and other earbuds in their price range as soon as I get my hands on a review sample. For now, here are the Galaxy Buds3 FE's key specs:

Samsung's budget Galaxy Buds 3 FE are here
The Fan Edition Galaxy Buds 3 have ditched the blob for a stemmed design popularized by Apple and found in Samsung's higher end Galaxy Buds 3 models launched last year. The Galaxy Buds 3 FE arrive with improved sound, enhanced active noise cancellation, and IP54 resistance to dust and rain, according to Samsung. For music, the Buds 3 FE promise 6 hours of listening with ANC on, or 8.5 hours with it off. Those numbers extend to 24 hours / 30 hours, respectively, when recharged in the case. Talk time is 4 hours with ANC on or off, which can be extended to 18 hours through case recharging. The Buds 3 FE are also designed for seamless access to Galaxy AI capabilities on Samsung smartphones. A "hey google" or long press puts you in a conversation mode with Gemini or the Galaxy AI Interpreter app to translate someone speaking in another language. Other specs in include Find My Earbuds support, an ambient sound transparency mode, voice isolation to help improve call quality in noisy environments, and the ability to auto-switch between Samsung devices. Samsung's Galaxy Buds 3 FE will be available in black and gray models with a price starting at an economical $149.99 when they arrive in US on September 4th -- that's $50 more than the price of the Galaxy Buds FE at launch two years ago.

Samsung's New 'Fan Edition" Earbuds Beat the Pricier Buds 3 Pro in One Key Way
Just because the Galaxy Buds 3 FE are cheaper doesn't mean they have to be worse. After some major leaks earlier this month, Samsung's Galaxy Buds 3 FE are finally here, and on paper, they look like a pretty good deal. While the "FE" moniker, short for Fan Edition, often signifies a lower price point in exchange for some compromises on features, the new Galaxy Buds 3 FE actually beats Samsung's Galaxy Buds 3 Pro in a couple of key areas, and one of those battlegrounds is battery life. According to Samsung, the $150 Buds 3 FE offer 6 hours of battery with active noise cancellation (ANC) activated and 8.5 hours with ANC off. That's compared to the $190 Buds 3 Pro battery life, which clocks in at 6 hours and 7 hours with ANC on and off, respectively. I would have liked to see the ANC battery life get a bump here too, but it's nice to know that if you need to, you can get an extra hour and a half for less money. Those battery life numbers aren't mind-blowing in the general field of wireless earbuds, but they do put the Galaxy Buds 3 FE on par with comparably priced buds from OnePlus. The other category that the Galaxy Buds FE 3 excel in is weight. These wireless earbuds are actually 5 grams lighter than the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro, which isn't an enormous difference but is enough to give the FE a slight edge if you're comparing the two against each other. It's also worth noting that Samsung managed to decrease the weight while upgrading the battery life, which is always a feat worth mentioning when it comes to any gadget, earbuds included. The next biggest selling point is the fact that the Galaxy Buds FE 3 match a lot of the Pro features while keeping the starting price lower. The first thing you'll probably notice is that the new Buds FE 3 borrow the same AirPods-like design as the Buds 3 Pro, which is nice if you like Apple's white earbuds but maybe not so nice if you're looking for something different. There is a slight difference here in that the Galaxy Buds FE 3 come with a matte finish as opposed to the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro's glossy one, though, and they don't have any LED lights on the stemsâ€"sorry, bladesâ€"themselves. On top of a similar design, the Galaxy Buds FE 3 also come equipped with real-time AI translation features (only if you have a Samsung phone) and hands-free Gemini compatibility so you can activate and use your voice assistant without unlocking your phone. AI features probably won't be make-or-break for most people, but it's nice to know that they'll be there if you should need/want them. As is the case with any pair of wireless earbuds, the biggest question will be in the sound. One notable difference between the Buds 3 Pro and Buds 3 FE is that the former has a dual-driver design while the latter has just one driver. It's hard to say what kind of difference that will make without hearing them back-to-back, but I'm guessing the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro will have an edge when it comes to fidelity and dynamic range. Even with that difference, however, the Buds 3 FE feel like a good deal for the price, and if you're looking to save a little bit of money but not make any major compromises, this could be the pair of Samsung wireless earbuds you're looking for.

Samsung's New $150 Galaxy Buds Have ANC and AirPods-like Design
You Can Still Use Your Internet Service During a Power Outage, Here's How Samsung has revealed the Galaxy Buds 3 FE as a new pair of affordable true wireless earbuds, complete with ANC support and a more AirPods-like design. You'll be able to buy a pair for $150 when it becomes available on September 4, 2025 in the United States. Samsung already has a budget option for earbuds, the Galaxy Buds FE, but the new Galaxy Buds 3 FE is much closer in design and features to the company's Buds 3 lineup. It now has the same basic stem design as the Galaxy Buds 3 and Buds 3 Pro, Apple's AirPods, and other earbuds. Samsung calls the stem component the "blade," and you pinch it to make selections or swipe for volume control. The microphone position has also been moved for better voice pickup, and the earbuds have IP54 water and dust resistance. There are some important upgrades compared to the previous Galaxy Buds FE. It now has larger speakers, which Samsung says will help "deliver rich, powerful sound with deep bass and clear treble." There's also active noise cancellation (ANC), which is great to see. The charging case is also similar to the other Buds 3 models, though there's no mention of Qi wireless charging support. The usual voice assistant features and AI integration are also present, like "Hey Google" hotword support (which is off by default) and live translation with the Galaxy AI Interpreter app running on the connected phone. As a fun aside, "FE" has been Samsung's label for budget flagships for the past few years, most notably for devices like the Galaxy Tab S10 FE and Galaxy S24 FE. The label originated from the Galaxy Note 7 FE, which was the fixed version of Samsung's infamous Note 7 phone that kept catching on fire and exploding. At that time, the FE label meant 'Fan Edition,' but Samsung hasn't used that full name in years. It's interesting that a product line that originated with the Note 7 is still around, but product marketing is sometimes strange like that. Samsung also said in its announcement, "Galaxy Buds3 FE mark a new chapter in expanding the Galaxy Experience. Designed for users who want reliable performance, smart features, and a stylish design at a great value, Galaxy Buds3 FE make it easier than ever to join the Galaxy ecosystem. The earbuds also offer seamless integration with Galaxy devices, including quick access from system settings and app-free control from any screen." You'll be able to buy the Galaxy Buds 3 in the United States starting on September 4th, at a price of $150. The earbuds will be available in Black or Gray colors. You can sign up on Samsung's website to be notified when it is available to purchase, and it should also appear at other retail stores when release day arrives. Source: Samsung

Samsung announces AI-powered Galaxy Buds3 FE
All products featured here are independently selected by our editors and writers. If you buy something through links on our site, Mashable may earn an affiliate commission. Samsung just announced that its Galaxy Buds3 FE are set to launch in the U.S. on Sept. 4, and will be available in black or gray for $149.99. This announcement comes with some pretty high expectations on our end -- we were so impressed by the Galaxy Buds FE that we awarded them a 4.4 out of 5 stars. According to Mashable's RJ Andersen, the Galaxy Buds FE had a sound quality that was "unmatched" for their price point. So, naturally, the question is: will Samsung be able to replicate this success with the Buds3 FE while making upgrades that are worth the increased cost? The official press release says these buds will feature upgraded audio and offer "seamless connection to Galaxy AI," including hands-free voice commands and real-time translation through the Galaxy AI Interpreter app, but you'll need to have a Galaxy smartphone to fully leverage the AI capabilities. (The company also noted that these features will be free until the end of 2025 on supported Samsung Galaxy devices, so that's something to think about.) The new model also introduces something Samsung is calling an "iconic blade design" with updated pinch and swipe controls for music and volume. The battery life is expected to last up to six hours with ANC on and up to eight-and-a-half hours with it off. Of course, the charging case extends your listening time to 24 and 30 hours, respectively. We'll be paying close attention to the nuanced improvements in active noise cancellation and other features that distinguish the Buds3 FE from its predecessors. In the last generation, we noticed that switching between devices was "annoying" even between Samsung's own products. The microphone quality was subpar and sounded "a bit fuzzy and far away" during calls. Samsung's announcement of improved Auto Switch functionality and "Crystal Clear Call technology" suggests that these issues may have been addressed. If the new Galaxy Buds3 FE can deliver on these promised enhancements, they could eventually be one of our top picks for affordability and quality.

Samsung Galaxy Buds 3 FE arrive with real-time translation, Buds 3 Pro looks, and the longest battery life of any Galaxy Buds
Buds 3 Pro looks and controls, including pinch and swipe gestures It's not a leak, it's not a rumor and it's not another mishap: the Samsung Galaxy Buds 3 FE (or Buds3 FE as Samsung likes to style it) are here. This hasn't been an easy road: the buds were spotted on June 12, leaked on July 22, then actually launched prematurely by Samsung's Panama arm on August 7, but now they're officially officially here, as announced by Samsung. So what's new? The first thing to note is actually something that's not new, and that's the Buds 3 FE's strong resemblance to the flagship Buds 3 Pro. And it's not just a pretty dress either: you also get the Buds 3 Pro's control functions, including pinch and swipe gestures (yes, you can swipe the blade to adjust volume). Also, the Buds 3 FE are IP54-rated for dust, sweat and water resistance, which is a high rating for buds, and something I love to see. Another thing I love to see? The longest quoted battery life of any Galaxy Buds to date, with up to 8.5 hours of uninterrupted listening in the earpieces (or 6 with ANC on), or 30 hours including case recharging (24 hours with ANC on). On the subject of ANC, Samsung promises enhanced noise cancellation and call quality from the six-mic array, since one mic in each earpiece has been moved into the blade, closer to the mouth for clear voice pickup. And although the buds still contain a solo dynamic driver under the hood - which also houses a Bluetooth 5.4 chipset with SSC (Samsung Seamless Codec) plus AAC and SBC support - it's a little bigger this time around for more immersive audio. But let's get granular: what about AI? Like their Pro siblings, the Galaxy Buds 3 FE feature Google Gemini including voice activation, plus translation piped into the buds in real time via the Samsung Interpreter app - all part of the Galaxy AI suite. To clarify (in case you're yet to be acquainted with this particular kind of Samsung-meets-Google tech), that means you'll be able to access Google Gemini for conversational AI assistance, but with the Galaxy AI Interpreter app you'll also be able to use Real-Time Interpreter through the buds or Live Translate to translate phone calls while they're happening. Of course, this is Samsung, so the Buds 3 FE will work seamlessly with your Samsung TV, tablet, PC or phone, with Auto Switch for easy-breezy device switching - and as you'd expect, the Find My earbuds feature is here, so you can get the buds to emit a 'beep' should you misplace one. The Samsung Galaxy Buds 3 FE are available in two finishes - black and gray - with a matte dual-tone finish. We can't vouch for the sound just yet, but if these 'Fan Edition' buds live up to the hype in testing, our best earbuds buying guide may well have a fresh contender... watch this space. The Galaxy Buds 3 FE will go on sale in the US on September 4 at Samsung.com, as well as selected retailers, priced at $149.99 - that's around £110 or AU$230, although official prices for these regions are yet to be confirmed.

Samsung's budget Galaxy Buds 3 FE give you AirPods-like design and a battery bonus
Samsung's budget buds present heaps of promise for their $150 price tag Samsung has expanded its Galaxy Buds lineup with the 'Fan Edition' Galaxy Buds 3 FE, finally delivering a more affordable earbud alongside the existing Galaxy Buds 3 and Buds 3 Pro models it released in July 2024. Like its family members, the Galaxy Buds 3 FE commit to the move away from the circular earbud shape of Samsung earbuds of old to the familiar, AirPods-like 'stem' one, which Samsung calls its 'Blade' design. This can be pinched to make playback selections or swiped to adjust the volume. Recommended Videos Alternatively, you can go hands-free courtesy of Google Gemini integration - saying phrases like "Hey Google" when you're wearing the earbuds can initiate voice playback controls, and when paired with a Galaxy phone there's the option of sending messages and checking emails via voice activation. Using the Galaxy AI Interpreter app, real-time translation can also be fed to the earbuds to facilitate conversations with someone speaking in another language. Neat. The Blade design isn't the only notable aspect of the new Samsung buds' physical design, either; the Buds3 FE have been blessed with an IP54 waterproof rating, making them suitable for wearing during sweaty workouts or out in rainy weather. Promising performance upgrades Like their 2023-released Galaxy Buds FE predecessor, the new Samsung budget earbuds have active noise cancellation onboard, only this time it has been improved to reduce ambient noise and therefore increase its effectiveness to isolate you and your music or voice calls. They also sport a larger driver than the previous-gen buds for supposedly 'rich, powerful sound with deep bass and clear treble', which bodes well for the new FEs considering we called the originals "clear, full-frequency sound signature, with a generous soundstage". Perhaps unsurprisingly considering their modest price point, the Galaxy Buds 3 FE settle for Samsung's SSC Bluetooth codec alongside the 'vanilla' AAC and SBC. While the higher-quality aptX and LDAC codec can be found in similarly affordable wireless earbuds such as our favorites, the Anker Soundcore Liberty 4 NC, which supports the latter codec, their absence is hardly a deal-breaker at this price. One thing that does thoroughly impress at this price level is the Galaxy Buds 3 FE's battery life - you get 8.5 hours in the buds (or 6 hours with ANC on) and an extra 24 hours of juice in the charging case (or 30 hours with ANC on). Plenty of much pricier earbuds don't manage those numbers (as you can see in our best wireless earbuds guide) - including Samsung's flagship Buds 3 Pro, which have a maximum on-bud battery life of seven hours. Available in black or gray, the Samsung Galaxy Buds 3 FE will become available in the US on September 4, priced at $150, with availability in other territories to follow.

Galaxy Buds3 FE offer AI voice and real time translation
Samsung has unveiled its latest audio offering, the Galaxy Buds3 FE, slated for release in the United States on September 4th. The new earbuds will be available in black and gray color options with a retail price of $149.99. This launch follows the success of the Galaxy Buds FE, which garnered positive reviews. According to Samsung's official press release, the Galaxy Buds3 FE will boast upgraded audio capabilities. These earbuds will also feature "seamless connection to Galaxy AI," integrating hands-free voice commands and real-time translation via the Galaxy AI Interpreter application. The Galaxy AI functionalities require a compatible Galaxy smartphone to be fully utilized. The company stated that access to these Galaxy AI features will be provided free of charge until the end of 2025 on supported Samsung Galaxy devices. Video: Samsung Aesthetically, the Galaxy Buds3 FE introduce what Samsung terms an "iconic blade design." This design is accompanied by updated pinch and swipe controls intended for managing music playback and volume levels. In terms of battery performance, the earbuds are projected to deliver up to six hours of listening time with Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) enabled. With ANC disabled, the battery life extends to approximately eight-and-a-half hours. The included charging case will provide additional power, extending the total listening time to 24 hours with ANC on and 30 hours with ANC off. Samsung also announced improvements to existing features. Specifically, the company highlighted enhanced Auto Switch functionality alongside "Crystal Clear Call technology." These announcements suggest a focus on addressing areas where previous models, including the Galaxy Buds FE, had shortcomings. Earlier assessments noted that switching between devices was "annoying," even within the Samsung ecosystem. Furthermore, microphone quality was described as subpar, with audio sounding "a bit fuzzy and far away" during calls.

Samsung's Newest Galaxy Buds Offer More Than You'd Expect for a Budget-Friendly Price
Though Samsung's most anticipated launches of the year are already behind us, the company isn't done yet. After weeks of leaks and speculation, the Galaxy Buds3 FE are finally here. Samsung announced the Galaxy Buds3 FE as its latest affordable earbuds As announced via a press release, Samsung introduced its newest addition to the Galaxy Buds lineup today, the Galaxy Buds3 FE. If you aren't familiar with the FE series, it's the Korea-based giant's "Fan Edition" line, where the company takes some of the best features from its premium devices and repackages them into a more affordable product. The Galaxy Buds3 FE is no exception, and might just be the best value yet in Samsung's earbuds lineup. Starting at $149.99, the Galaxy Buds3 FE feature an "iconic blade design" with a matte dual-tone finish and are built with a larger speaker compared to their predecessors. With most affordable earbuds, you'll notice one thing: they skip features that most users would want, like Active Noise Cancellation (ANC). Take Apple's AirPods 4, for example. Though there's a higher-tier model available with ANC, the standard budget-friendly model comes without noise cancellation for $129. Instead of taking the same route, Samsung has once again kept ANC in its Fan Edition lineup, which is enabled by default and can be configured through your device's settings or the Galaxy Wearable app. The Buds3 FE also use Crystal Clear Cell technology, powered by an "advanced pre-trained machine learning model to isolate your voice." This way, you can take calls without worrying about background chatter drowning you out, whether you're in a café, commuting, or working in a noisy environment. The Galaxy Buds3 FE Bring AI Features You'll Actually Use Of course, a device announced in 2025 without AI features built-in would feel incomplete. That's why Samsung is bundling Galaxy AI smarts into the Buds3 FE, which integrate seamlessly with Galaxy AI capabilities on Galaxy devices. For instance, if you're traveling and having a conversation with a foreigner, you can use the earbuds with the Galaxy AI Interpreter app to translate the conversation. You can also use the "Hey Google" command to ask questions, control playback, check your daily agenda or email, and more. Given that earbuds are extremely easy to misplace, the Buds3 FE thankfully also integrate with the Find My Earbuds feature, letting you quickly locate them from your phone. Samsung claims that the Buds3 FE can provide up to 6 hours of music time with ANC enabled, and 24 hours total with the charging case. With ANC disabled, the number jumps to 8.5 hours of music time and 30 hours total with the case. The Galaxy Buds3 FE will be available in the U.S. starting September 4, 2025, in two colors: Black and Gray. You can also opt for the trade-in program, where you can receive up to $30 off your purchase by trading in a wired or wireless headset.

The latest affordable true wireless stereo (TWS) earphones from the South Korean tech conglomerate arrive as the successor to the Galaxy Buds FE, which debuted in October 2023. Samsung promises up to 8.5 hours of playtime on a single charge with ANC off. Samsung Galaxy Buds 3 FE Price in India, Availability Samsung Galaxy Buds 3 FE is priced at $149.99 (roughly Rs. 13,000) in the US. Samsung's new cheap wireless buds are almost identical to the Buds 3 Pro for $100 less | Stuff
The Galaxy Buds 3 FE manage to cram in Gemini, real-time translation, swipe gestures, and the best battery life on Galaxy Buds for $100 less Looking for a new set of top earbuds? While there are plenty of options to pick from, if you want the best features, they'll usually set you back a fair amount. But not the new Samsung Galaxy Buds 3 FE. They're the cheapest model in Samsung's latest earbuds line-up, and are nearly identical to the Buds 3 Pro. But you get all that for $100 less - leaving me wondering if FE standards for financially efficient. Not only that, the Galaxy Buds 3 FE actually manage to offer the best battery life across all of Samsung's earbuds. Combine that with swipe gestures, Gemini AI, and real-time translation, and I think we're on to a winner. The Galaxy Buds 3 FE look nearly identical to the more premium version version, right down to the new Blade design. They've got a matte, dual-tone finish with semi-transparent touches that looks pretty decent. They're also IP54-rated for protection against dust and sweat. But it's what these buds can do that counts. Even though these are Samsung's affordable earbuds, the brand kept all the essentials. You'll find Active Noise Cancelling, bigger speakers for better bass, and even Samsung's Crystal Clear Call tech, which uses AI to filter your voice like it's auditioning for a podcast. The microphones are better placed too, now pointing toward your mouth instead of vaguely hoping for the best. Combine all that with Gemini AI features like voice commands, real-time translation (if you've got the Galaxy Interpreter app), and the usual voice assistant antics, and it's hard to work out what you're missing out on compared to the Buds 3. Samsung's Galaxy Buds3 FE Are Here, Mirroring AirPods Stem-Style Design, With AI, Active Noise Cancellation, And Premium Features For $149, Delivering Performance In A Budget-Friendly Package
Samsung has finally unveiled the much-anticipated Galaxy Buds FE, the latest addition to its Fan Edition lineup that offers premium features at an affordable price. The accessory is said to be available in the U.S. on September 4th, 2025, for $149.99 and in two color options: Black and Gray. The tech giant seems to be balancing affordability and cutting-edge technology by not only offering some noteworthy capabilities but also bringing about a design that truly stands out. When you first glance at the design of the Galaxy Buds 3 FE, you immediately notice how it looks miles away from what the Buds FE looked like two years ago. The new earbuds tend to sport a stem-style design, stepping away from the rounder look and bringing the model closer to the Galaxy Buds 3. Samsung also seems to be bringing the new version closer to the aesthetics of the AirPods and opting for a design that resonates with users more. The Galaxy Buds3 FE is said to come with an IP54 rating for dust and splash resistance to make the accessory suitable for traveling and use during intense workouts. In terms of performance, the earbuds are packed with Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) and an adjustable sound mode that allows users to switch between immersive listening and situational awareness. The battery life is also impressive, as the accessory can last up to 6 hours with ANC on or 8.5 hours with it off. The charging case allows for the battery to be extended up to 20 hours. The call time, on the other hand, can go up to four hours, and eighteen hours with the case. Samsung is determined to differentiate itself and make AI an integral part of its entire ecosystem. The Galaxy Buds3 FE follows a similar approach by extending support for Galaxy AI, voice translation, voice isolation, and seamless device switching within the system. With Google Gemini integration, there is more contextually aware smart assistance available directly through the earbuds. The specifications show that the earbuds weigh about 5 grams each, keeping them light and comfortable to wear for an extended period. They are powered by a 53 mAh battery and a charging case with a battery capacity of 515 mAh. The Black and Gray finish adds to the premium touch of the new Buds FE. We see a major upgrade from the older FE models with more advanced features and a fresh design.
