Samsung Galaxy AI features leak ahead of Unpacked 2025
A new leak has seemingly revealed the hotly anticipated Samsung Galaxy S25 will see a major Galaxy AI upgrade. The new leak comes from veteran smartphone leaker Evan Blass, who published what seems to be a marketing video showing off some of the new features coming to Samsung's Galaxy AI suite of features. These features are expected to launch alongside the Samsung Galaxy S25 series, which will likely be unveiled at Samsung's latest Galaxy Unpacked event, set to take place on Wednesday, January 22. The leaked video starts with a user being woken up by the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra's alarm, after which a feature called Insights delivers information like the weather, sleep scores, and other data that the user might want to see when they first wake - all in a single scrollable screen. The video then cuts to another user who asks Google's Gemini assistant to "find a pet-friendly Italian restaurant with outdoor seating and send it to Tony." Gemini sends a rundown of nearby restaurants, then compiles a message that the user approves to be sent with a simple tap. Perhaps the best AI features are those that aren't as in-your-face, though. In the video, Samsung shows off the new Night Video mode on the Galaxy S25 series, which can seemingly capture more detail than before. It's kind of like how night mode photos have worked in the past, but in video. The user then makes use of the Audio Eraser tool to remove nearby noise, and focus the audio on a person playing piano. Not all of these features are completely new. For example, Gemini can already send text messages, and Google's Audio Eraser tool has been available on the Pixel since the launch of the Pixel 9 series. That said, Audio Eraser has so far been limited to Pixel devices, so the video at least shows off the fact that it's expanding to more phones. As mentioned, the likely reveal of the Galaxy S25 is only a few days away. It's expected to comprise the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25 Plus, and Galaxy S25 Ultra. All three new devices are expected get a series of upgrades apart from those that are AI-based, including the new Snapdragon 8 Elite chip.

Tapping on the cards will give more details and insights. Apart from this, Google's Gemini will see deeper integration with Samsung phones with the Galaxy S25 series. For example, users will be able to tell Gemini to get info about a particular kind of restaurant and ask Gemini to forward it to one of their friends saved in the contacts. This will be aided by the addition of the night mode for videos. Read More - Tecno Spark 30C 5G Launched in New 8GB RAM Variant This will be a new addition to Samsung's camera ecosystem. At present, users can click photos in night mode, but very soon, they will be able to record videos in night mode. How exactly will it be different from the existing night mode is also something we will have to see, as it is aided by AI. The new AI features were tipped by Evan Blass, via Substack. These new AI features haven't been announced by Samsung directly, so we will have to wait for the official confirmation which is not long from now.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Series AI Features Leaked Ahead of Galaxy Unpacked
Samsung Galaxy S25 series may also get offer Gemini integration in apps Samsung Galaxy S25 series is expected to debut with support for new features powered by artificial intelligence (AI). The company's next Galaxy S series of smartphones is expected to be launched on January 22. The South Korean tech giant has already teased that these devices will arrive with new Galaxy AI capabilities. Now, a tipster has shared what appears to be a leaked promotional video for the Samsung event that highlights the new features these devices could be launched with. The promotional Galaxy S25 series video was leaked by tipster Evan Blass via Substack. The video starts with the Galaxy AI logo, indicating that the new AI features will all be part of the company's upcoming Galaxy S25 series. Throughout the video, people are seen using the features in different real-life scenarios. The first feature showcased in the video is the previously reported Brief Now, which shows insights to the user based on their usage of the smartphone and other Galaxy devices. In the video, these insights were displayed on the lock screen, inside rectangular cards -- tapping on them reveals more information. The Samsung Galaxy S25 lineup will reportedly offer better integration of Gemini AI with several first-party Samsung apps. In the leaked video, a user tells Gemini to "find a pet-friendly Italian restaurant with outdoor seating nearby and text it to Tony." This suggests that Gemini in the Galaxy S25 series can break down complex multi-step tasks and find the relevant information. A new AI-powered Night Video mode is also seen in the leaked video. Described as "capture your evening out in vivid detail," the feature is shown to record brighter videos while reducing noise and capturing greater detail. However, it is unclear how the feature differs from the existing Night Mode in Galaxy smartphones. Audio Eraser feature in the Samsung Galaxy S25 series Photo Credit: Evan Blass Finally, a Pixel-styled Audio Eraser feature was also shown in the video. The AI feature can identify sounds coming from different sources and can isolate them automatically, as per the video. Once done, users can control the audio level of isolated sources and adjust them manually. It was shown to adjust voice, music, winds, crowd noise, and more. The video also highlights that the feature is compatible with common video formats in the Gallery app. While the leaked video details several new AI features that could be added to the upcoming Galaxy S25 series, it is noted that these features have not been announced in an official capacity. Confirmation will only come after Samsung announces them during the event.

Official Samsung video leaks for unannounced Galaxy S25 and new AI features
TL;DR: A leaked Samsung marketing video reveals that the upcoming Galaxy S25 will feature a significant AI-powered upgrade. Samsung Unpacked is just two days away. The highly anticipated event, announced at CES 2025, conjured all kinds of speculation regarding the Galaxy S25, the new AI features, and potential announcements such as the Galaxy Ring 2. A good chunk of the speculation has been squashed following a series of leaks from smartphone leaker Evan Blass. A key portion included a promotional video from Samsung highlighting the S25 series and its associated Galaxy AI features. Among these included: The standout feature appears to be the Gemini Assistant. In the promotional video, a user asks Gemini to "find a pet-friendly Italian restaurant with outdoor seating and send it to Tony." This ability to search and compose a message in one tap highlights the assistant's potential. However, the true practicality of these features will only become clear once they're in the hands of users. To see what else Samsung has in store, make sure you tune into the live stream from Samsung.com, Samsung Newsroom, or Samsung's YouTube Channel on the 22nd of January at 10 AM PT.

Samsung Galaxy S25 promo materials leak just revealed specs and top AI features
With Samsung set to launch the Galaxy S25 lineup next week at the January 22 Galaxy Unpacked event, a set of marketing materials has surfaced, potentially revealing a number of specs and AI features coming to the new flagship Android devices. The promotional images were shared by the Brazilian site Tecnoblog in Portuguese; using machine translation, we're able to figure out what specs appear in the leaked ad. The first set of images showcases the Galaxy S25 Plus, which we presume will have similar features as the entry-level Galaxy S25. The images highlight a 50MP main camera with 2x zoom, coupled with a 10MP telephoto with 3x zoom and a 12MP ultrawide lens. These specs are unchanged from the Galaxy S24 Plus. The Plus and the Galaxy S25 Ultra will both feature 12MP front-facing cameras, according to the listing. That's another repeat spec from the 2024 model The Ultra images reveal a potential upgrade to the S25 Ultra's ultrawide lens, listing a 50MP sensor for that camera. The Galaxy S24 Ultra features a 12MP ultrawide lens. Otherwise, the listed camera specs for the remaining rear cameras match what the Galaxy S24 Ultra offers -- a 200MP main camera and a pair of telephoto lenses (a 50MP sensor with a 5x optical zoom and a 10MP sensor with a 3x optical zoom). The materials highlight "the most powerful processor made for Galaxy." Presumably this is referring to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset that is expected to feature in every S25 handset. The S25 Plus looks to have a 4,900 mAh battery with the materials claiming up to 30 hours of video watching. The Ultra offers a slightly bigger with a 5,000 mAh battery and 31 hours of video watching. Battery sizes look to be unchanged from the equivalent S24 models. The Tecnoblog images also highlight a few new AI features that look to be launching with the S25 lineup and the updated One UI 7 software. Now Brief is one, which has been teased by Samsung previously. The tool is meant to create personalized summaries using AI with three different versions; a morning brief, a summary for your commute and an evening brief. The morning brief will highlight the upcoming day with weather forecasts, your schedule and your energy score if you also have a Samsung Watch. The evening one will summarize your day including how you did on activity. The images also hint at a new Google Gemini integration. Gemini looks like it will work like the Hey Google assistant and read content for you while interacting with apps like YouTube and Samsung Notes. Samsung should be bringing big upgrades with One UI 7 plus Galaxy AI, and we'll find out what other new features are coming when the Korean company unveils the S25 lineup at Unpacked. Be sure to read our guide on how to watch the Galaxy Unpacked live stream to follow along with Samsung's announcements.

Samsung Galaxy S25's free Galaxy AI access may only last until 2025 end
It took an 8-hour flight for Samsung's DeX mode to finally click with me Summary More marketing materials for the Galaxy S25 have surfaced online before the official announcement. The Galaxy S25 Ultra will feature ProScaler to improve the clarity and sharpness of images. Galaxy AI will only be free for a year on the Galaxy S25, until the end of 2025. Samsung will officially unveil the Galaxy S25 series in just over 24 hours. Over the last couple of weeks, several leaks have detailed the key specs and improvements of Samsung's 2025 flagship phones, and there's little we don't know about them. But the leaks continue to flow, with more Galaxy S25 and S25 Ultra marketing materials making their way to the internet. Related 7 announcements to expect at the Samsung Galaxy S25 Unpacked event (and 2 not to) All new gadgets Samsung may show at Unpacked Posts Evleaks shared marketing materials for the Galaxy S25 Ultra and its two smaller siblings with his Leakmail subscribers. The images highlight features we have seen in previous leaks, including Now Bar, Daily Briefing, and Night Video with Audio Eraser. They will be available across the entire S25 lineup and will not be limited to the Ultra model. The Galaxy S25 Ultra will exclusively support ProScaler, which will "make your images feel lifelike" and "clearer than ever." While not mentioned, it seems to be an AI upscaling feature for pictures to improve their sharpness and clarity. Close The Galaxy S25 lineup will supposedly not get any selfie camera upgrades, sticking to the same 12MP shooter found on its predecessor. However, Samsung will purportedly make processing improvements to enable the phones to "capture selfies that feel real with natural skin tones and textures." Galaxy S25 owners will only get a free year of Galaxy AI When Samsung introduced Galaxy AI with the Galaxy S24 series in early 2024, it promised to offer the AI suite of features free of charge for two years. With the Galaxy S25 launching a year later, you might expect the company to extend the complimentary access period for Galaxy AI for its new flagship phones. However, a footnote in the marketing image confirms this won't be the case. The Galaxy S25 lineup will have free access to Galaxy AI through 2025 -- the same as other Samsung devices. Other features highlighted in the promo materials include Samsung Wallet, RCS messaging in Google Messages for a better cross-platform texting experience, and Smart Switch. None of them are new, though, and are already available on existing Galaxy phones. If you are sold on the Galaxy S25, you won't have to wait long to get your hands on it. Samsung's Unpacked event is almost here, and the company should start accepting preorders for its newest flagship phones right after the event. Thanks: Moshe!

These clever Galaxy S25 AI features look surprisingly helpful
With fewer than seven days to go until Samsung's January 2025 Galaxy Unpacked event, the specs and look of the Galaxy S25 series is pretty well known, but a new leak has dished out more on the lineup's Galaxy AI features and its camera. It looks like the Galaxy S25 will integrate the Gemini assistant into Samsung Notes and YouTube, but the most interesting find is the Now Brief feature. The Now Brief feature looks like it offers real-time information throughout the day, like a morning message with the weather and your energy score, the "For your route" section with a map and even a coupon to use along the way, while the "Night Summary" talks about your overall physical activity for the day. All of these examples were shared with the Portuguese website Tecnoblog, and the names of the cards are translated from Portuguese, but if accurate it appears Galaxy AI is on its way to becoming a lot more helpful in day-to-day life. Recommended Videos We already knew Gemini AI is impressive, but these images tease even more functionality than expected. It appears you can play a YouTube video and ask Gemini to "List the places mentioned in this video and save a Note," which shows at least two apps that will integrate with the AI, and there are likely several others not shown. Even if these are the only two apps at the moment, on-demand video summaries could save a lot of time, especially when learning to perform a new task, identify places, or understanding if the video contains information you need. As for the camera arrangement, the Galaxy S25 Plus will have a 12MP front camera, a 12MP ultrawide camera, a 50MP main camera with 2x optical zoom, and a 10MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom. It will be powered by a 4,900mAh battery which Samsung claims will keep you going for up to 30 hours per charge. Please enable Javascript to view this content The Galaxy S25 Ultra has an even more impressive camera setup. The three cameras on the rear are a 50MP wide-angle, a 200MP main camera, a 50MP telephoto lens with 5x zoom, and a 10MP telephoto lens with 3x zoom. The S25 Ultra also has a 5,000mAh battery. We will find out how much of this is accurate, and what else the Galaxy S25 series holds, on January 22.

S25 leak spills juicy details on Samsung's new Galaxy AI features
Samsung's making a last-ditch effort to ensure its Galaxy S25 series underperforms in some markets Samsung's much-anticipated Galaxy S25 series will finally go official next week on January 22. Much has been leaked about the devices regarding their specs, designs, features, and even pricing. But a new leak that just surfaced sheds some light on the new Galaxy AI features. Spoiler alert: they could change how we use our phones. ✕ Remove Ads Samsung's 2025 Galaxy Unpacked event will be headlined with the S25 trio, viz. the Galaxy S25, the 25+, and the S25 Ultra. Rumors also hint at the release of a new "S25 Slim", but it may arrive later. As the trend has been over the last few years, the new phones will come with a healthy serving of artificial intelligence features on the side, enabled by the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy SoC. Called Now Brief, the new features seem poised to compete with the likes of Apple Intelligence in meaningful ways. Related Samsung Galaxy S25: News, leaks, rumored price, and release window The Galaxy S25 trio is coming early next year -- here's what we know Posts2 The AI race continues Advantage Samsung? Source: Technoblog ✕ Remove Ads Brazilian publication Technoblog got its hands on marketing materials that detail how Now Brief will work on the Samsung Galaxy S25 series. This implementation of Galaxy AI and Google Gemini allows the phone to be able to interact with other apps on the device to provide far more contextual and useful tips and actions. One of the leaked images shows the phone summarizing a YouTube video and creating a new note with the information, when prompted "Hey Google Gemini, list the places mentioned in this video and save a Note." Such integrations can significantly cut down the number of steps required to complete an action, thus saving users a lot of time. Cupertino should take notes Source: Tecchnoblog Now Brief, as the name suggests, provides contextual information at a glance based on the time of day. Three examples are shown in the imagery: ✕ Remove Ads A morning summary that shows the weather forecast for the day, the user's energy score (likely pulled from a connected wearable), followed by the schedule of events for the day. A commute brief that automatically starts the navigation and music playback, along with a suggested coffee stop based on available coupons. An evening summary that shows "memorable moments" from the day as well as the achievement of daily activity goals. It is commonly understood that for AI to be better at its job it needs access to more data points. By allowing your phone's operating system to pull data from installed apps for more context, AI assistants can be supercharged. However, there will be obvious privacy concerns for a feature like this, where users might not want Galaxy AI to go through all their apps to find links. Hopefully, Samsung will address these concerns during the announcement. ✕ Remove Ads Related 7 announcements to expect at the Samsung Galaxy S25 Unpacked event (and 2 not to) All new gadgets Samsung may show at Unpacked Posts

Samsung Galaxy S25 AI leak teases major Gemini upgrades and new morning briefings
Gemini might be taking a more active role as a Bixby replacement Samsung's next Galaxy Unpacked showcase is set for January 22, and it's there that we'll find out everything there is to know about its 2025 smartphone flagships (perhaps even the much-rumored Samsung Galaxy S25 Slim). We're expecting a slew of upgrades to the hardware, but also to the phone's software - specifically in the AI department - and new leaks are teasing just that. The new details come via Brazilian tech outlet Tecnoblog (translated from Portuguese), which claims to have received official Samsung assets highlighting new Gemini integration and a feature called "Now Brief." This follows previous Samsung Galaxy S25 teasers which highlighted several impressive AI tricks which could be on the way to the next-gen Samsung devices. Take the following with a pinch of salt as always, but here are three Samsung Galaxy S25 AI features we could soon have our hands on. Now Brief, according to the leaked info, appears to be a sort of personalized morning briefing that your phone's AI presents to you, containing various handy stats - like today's weather and your Energy score based on how well rested you are (presumably measured by a smart ring or fitness tracker) - as well as useful reminders for the day ahead. For example, in the leaked image Now Brief is reminding us to use that coupon for coffee before it expires in the next few days. It also appears that your Now Brief doesn't have to come in the morning, the final part of the leaked image shows us a recap of the day we've just had with "memorable moments" to relive and an overview of how we did achieving our daily activity goal. So whether you'd rather have a retrospective recap or a guide to help you navigate the day ahead it looks like this could be a nifty AI tool. As we noted on the recent CES special episode of our podcast Samsung has a few too many named AI assistants. There's the Galaxy AI, classic Bixby, and also Google's Gemini, which it uses via the Android OS. Another AI leak suggests the new phones will try to simplify things by making Gemini more front and center. It's not clear whether Bixby is being phased out, but one leaked image suggests Gemini will at least have a more integrated role on the new Samsung phones - with it suggesting users will be able to more easily call on the Google assistant to help them with tasks across various Android and Galaxy apps (such as YouTube and Samsung Notes). That same leak which teased better Gemini integration also hints at Galaxy AI being able to perform tasks across multiple apps with one prompt, and that the new Galaxy AI will have a better understanding of what's happening on your phone. The teaser image example shows us a request for the AI to save a summary in Samsung Notes of what was said in a YouTube video playing on the phone - highlighting both cross-app integration, and the ability for Gemini to understand it needs to pay attention to on-device media.

New video teases the Samsung Galaxy S25's big AI upgrades
Samsung has hinted at an AI-powered phone for ages now, and we always expected the Galaxy S25 series to focus largely on Galaxy AI. It turns out there may be a lot more than expected; a new video from Samsung teases a "true AI companion" and displays the AI performing tasks well outside the scope of Bixby. In the video, a woman tells the AI, "Hey, I'm off to my next meeting, but I need to find an Italian restaurant. Outdoor seating, pet friendly, of course. Can you send that to Luca? Oh, and can you put that in my calendar?" That's a complex series of requests, spoken with a natural, meandering cadence, and the AI appears to take it all in without missing a beat. Her request for a restaurant also implies the AI knows her preferences well enough to suggest a location she would like. Recommended Videos Let's break it down. "I'm off to my next meeting" implies the AI has calendar access and knows the timing of the meeting so that the phone can be put into Do Not Disturb mode. She requests a specific type of restaurant with specific features, then asks the AI to send the meeting to a contact and add it to her calendar at once. That's a big lift from most current AI assistants. Please enable Javascript to view this content Bixby has always been the brunt of jokes because it's less capable than Google Assistant (among other reasons), but the video points to some serious upgrades. This isn't wholly surprising, though; in China, the next-generation Bixby AI has already been released, and a global launch is expected soon. A true AI companion is coming | Samsung The video ends with the words, "A true AI companion is coming," and the Galaxy AI logo underneath them before fading to a teaser screen for Galaxy Unpacked (that's in eight days, by the way. Wednesday, January 22.) This upgraded AI will likely be available on the Galaxy S25 series out of the box after its announcement at Galaxy Unpacked, but there's a chance it could come to other Samsung devices, too. Since it's already available on Samsung phones in China, it doesn't require the S25 chipset, but it's also likely that it would come at the cost of performance on underpowered devices. Either way, Gemini AI has already shown the ease of back-and-forth questions with AI. Bringing a similar functionality to the Galaxy S25 series will make it feel like a true next-generation upgrade.

Samsung teases that the Galaxy S25 could be a 'true AI companion'
We were always expecting the Samsung Galaxy S25 series to feature new and improved AI features, and now Samsung itself has hinted that we could see some major AI upgrades. In the company's latest teaser for Galaxy Unpacked - the January 22 event at which the Samsung Galaxy S25 series will almost certainly be unveiled - Samsung has teased the arrival of "a true AI companion." The company uses those exact words in a brief video in which we see someone ask an AI assistant to find them a pet-friendly Italian restaurant with outdoor seating. In a single request they ask for all that, and also for it to be put in their calendar and sent to someone. This sort of request is well beyond what Bixby, Samsung's digital assistant, is capable of currently. Or at least that's the case outside China - Bixby has already had a ChatGPT-like overhaul in China, and this teaser suggests the same upgrade will be going global soon. Samsung says its currently China-only Bixby upgrade can understand "complex user instructions" that combine multiple commands in a single sentence, which is exactly what we see in this teaser video. It also has on-screen awareness, so you can ask it about things on your phone's display, and it has a more modern interface than the Bixby we're used to. So with the global launch of this Bixby upgrade presumably being announced at Galaxy Unpacked, it may well be available on the Samsung Galaxy S25 out of the box - and since this is already available in China we know it doesn't require the power of the Galaxy S25, so we might well see this come to some existing Samsung handsets too. That said, we'd expect some of the very best new AI features to be reserved for the Galaxy S25 series, either because they require the power of its new chipset, or just as a selling point. It's also very possible that Bixby itself will run faster on the upcoming phones. We'll find out soon, and TechRadar will be in attendance at the Samsung Galaxy S25 launch, so stay tuned for that. In the meantime, stick with TechRadar and we'll bring you all the Galaxy S25 news, leaks, and teasers ahead of the full announcement.

Latest Leak Reveals New Galaxy AI Features, Highlighting What Apple Could Change To Boost iPhone Sales
With the Galaxy Unpacked 2025 merely a week away, Samsung is gearing up for its star of the show, the S25 lineup. While many speculations have emerged up till now, giving away quite a few details about the upcoming series. We see tipsters constantly draw a comparison between the AI efforts by the South Korean tech giant and Apple and how they both are going about the capabilities at a different pace. While sparse information has been available on the type of AI features, we could see on the new models, a new leak sheds some light on some of the Galaxy AI features we could soon see at the upcoming event. The Galaxy S25 lineup is expected to be rolled out at the Galaxy Unpacked event to be held on January 22nd. While there is hardly any time left for the big event where Samsung is expected to unveil some major products, several reports have left little mystery, giving away some key information on the upcoming series. Until now, the design and camera specifications have been leaked, but there are scarce details available on the AI features of the models. The only information available about the AI capabilities has been how they would help the series stand out and leave Apple behind. Now, the latest leak by a Brazilian publication, Technoblog, shares marketing material for the Galaxy S25 that confirms the design and camera specifications and gives away some of the features making their way to the upcoming lineup. While there is no doubt that the Galaxy S25 series will be talked about for the major part of the event, we also know there will be a huge focus on AI and how it is being used to leverage user experience. The material highlights a new feature that could potentially leave Apple Intelligence behind: the new Now Brief feature coming to the series. The capability is meant to enhance users' convenience by efficiently managing their daily productivity. For instance, the Morning Summary feature would display all important information related to the weather and schedule and help users be prepared for what would be upcoming in the day. Similarly, Commute Brief would start navigation, play music, and even suggest nearby coffee shops or ongoing deals so that users are able to move around easily through a simplified process. There is also an example of a Night Summary that would give you a glance at the memorable moments throughout the day and let you focus on the physical activity goal you set for yourself. Google Gemini's integration with other apps is also evident in the material shared, and it seems that the interactions would be more fluid and intuitive. The Galaxy S25 Ultra design is also confirmed in the leak, and we can see rounded corners similar to the ones shown in other speculations. The camera and battery specifications also mirror those of previous leaks. It is the fresh AI capabilities coming to the S25 models that have our attention and are something that Apple could learn from when it comes to approaching Apple Intelligence and taking a more radical stance towards it by bringing in such noteworthy features and truly working on improving user experience.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra: A Leap into the Future of AI-Powered Smartphones
Samsung is all geared up to recapture the smartphone market with the Galaxy S25 Ultra, a smartphone that will be the part of Galaxy S25 series. During the Galaxy Unpacked event, this device will set the foundation for the development of Galaxy AI and place Samsung in a strategic position in the market of mobile artificial intelligence. Galaxy AI first emerged with the S24 series, and people got to know AI-focused smartphones. Recently in 2024, it was evident that AI was a key factor towards sales with more than 25% of the buyers choosing the Galaxy S24 for its AI features. Samsung now wants to expand its use of AI and become a market leader in mobile electronics with the Galaxy S25 Ultra. The S25 Ultra will include facial recognition, an improved built-in voice assistant, new AI-powered on-device AI and cloud services. This includes things such as photo enhancement, generative media and interactive user experience. As the Samsung Galaxy S25 launch date gets closer - there's an event in the calendar for Wednesday, January 22 - we're getting a better idea of some of the new AI features and tricks that Samsung is set to unveil alongside the new hardware. Yesterday we had an official teaser video from Samsung promising the Galaxy S25 would be a "true AI companion", and hinting that Bixby would be front and center - something that's been predicted in earlier leaks as well. Over the last few days and weeks, we've had some official and unofficial sneak peeks at what's coming in terms of AI - and it seems like the upgrades might be substantial enough to put Apple Intelligence and the iPhone 16 in the shade. We've previously covered the Sketch to Image feature that's part of the Galaxy AI suite of tools on recent Galaxy phones: It lets you scribble out a basic drawing, then get AI to turn it into a proper piece of artwork (and the results are pretty impressive). Now Samsung itself has teased a multimodal upgrade for Sketch to Image with the arrival of the Galaxy S25 and One UI 7 (Samsung's take on Android 15). That means you'll be able to use voice commands and text prompts to further enhance your AI drawings. The AI-powered notification summaries that appear as part of Apple Intelligence on the iPhone have been a bit hit and miss so far: some alerts don't really lend themselves to being summarized and can end up being confusing and garbled. Nevertheless, Samsung is pushing on with its own version. According to tipster @GerwinvGiessen (via SamMobile), Galaxy AI will be able to prioritize the conversations that are most deserving of your attention, summarize notifications, and group notifications together in a smarter way. Another new feature coming with One UI 7 and the Galaxy S25 is what Samsung is calling a Now Bar. This is a pop-up on the interface that provides context-sensitive information for your day, such as weather forecasts and travel plans. "It's where you'll control your entertainment, time your next personal best workout, get directions to your next meeting or start communicating in other languages," says Samsung. "Now, your phone won't just ping you, it will power your lifestyle." Having previously teased "many new AI functions" for the Galaxy S25, well-known tipster @UniverseIce has also linked to a post detailing some of these functions - and it looks like there's lots more to come, including features that haven't been rumored yet. According to @AhmedQwaider888, Galaxy AI will improve video capture on the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra by giving you more control over color and brightness, and by making it easier to switch between different cameras while filming - with the increase in frames minimizing lag and stutter. We've already mentioned the upgraded Bixby AI that's set to appear on the Galaxy S25, but of course Samsung is a partner of Google, and the Galaxy S25 is an Android phone - and there's a rumor that the handset will come with a free year of Gemini Advanced. The Advanced plan, which typically costs $19.99 / £18.99 / AU$29.99 a month, gives you access to newer features and more powerful AI models, compared with the standard Gemini apps and functionality that anyone is able to access.

Leaked Galaxy S25 promo focuses on AI above all else, including Gemini [Video]
Samsung isn't going easy on AI this year. The Galaxy S25 series is supposed to be filled to the brim with AI features we haven't exactly seen yet. Some are less unfamiliar, such as Google Gemini on the Galaxy S25. A new promotional video has been leaked showcasing those AI improvements and Google Gemini in action. Prior to the actual release and announcement of the Galaxy S25 series, a promotional trailer for the phone has been leaked online (via Android Headlines). The video showcases a few of the things Samsung wants to highlight on the device. You can probably guess a lot of it has to do with AI. In the first part of the video, we get a good look at the light blue Galaxy S25 Ultra variant. This might not be a focus in the video, but the sheen on the back of the phone looks pretty good! The phone itself displays a set of quick tiles at the bottom of the lock screen. Swiping through those showcases a "Morning brief" button. Morning brief is part of Samsung's new AI summary suite, pulling data from select apps in the morning that may be pertinent to the user. That includes weather and sleep data if you're wearing Galaxy wearables. It'll surely be a useful part of One UI 7 and likely not exclusive to Samsung's newest devices. The video goes on to show off Google Gemini in our first look at Google's AI model on Samsung's Galaxy S25 series. Gemini, activated by a long-press of the power button within the Messages app, shows up in a small box that doesn't take on the same UI design as on Google's own hardware. Samsung's iteration is a simple box with a single send arrow. The box does take on the same glow to note that it's listening. Gemini is used to send a restaurant suggestion to a friend with a simple, detailed command. Samsung goes on to advertise "nightography." Night video in One UI 7 will be a better option for low-light videos, though it remains to be seen how well Samsung's phones will perform in the photo department this year. The feature looks similar to Google's video boost, which can be useful, although sometimes inconvenient. Audio eraser gets a mention in the promo as well. The feature also uses AI to detect certain sounds in your videos, allowing the user to pull them out for a cleaner clip. The demo shows off voices, music, wind, and generic noise categories that can be manipulated with AI. The last few frames of the promo show off the three main devices: the Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra. This has, by far, been the most interesting leak we've seen because it covers AI features that will affect other devices beyond the Galaxy S25 series, including Google Gemini. Still, the Galaxy S25 will be posied to take the most advantage of what One UI 7 will offer in full. Samsung has reservations open now for the Galaxy S25 series, with a $50 credit when you pre-order and up to $1,200+ in savings. Reservations are free, and there's no obligation to actually buy a device if you sign up, but there's no other time you can get that $50 credit.

Leaked: Galaxy S25 to feature Gemini AI and 'Now Brief'
A major leak from Technoblog ahead of Samsung's Galaxy S25 launch event reveals significant AI enhancements and new features integrated into the Galaxy S25 series, including the S25, S25 Plus, and S25 Ultra. The promotional material shared by Tecnoblog, alongside marketing visuals, confirm the "Gemini experience" and various specifications. The Galaxy S25 lineup will incorporate Google's Gemini AI assistant, which promises advanced cross-application functionality. Users will be able to execute commands such as extracting information from YouTube videos and creating notes based on that information through a single voice command. Marketing imagery showcases Samsung's new "Now Brief" feature, delivering personalized daily summaries. This functionality will provide users with updates regarding weather, activity recaps, photo summaries from the day, and other recommendations. The design appears to utilize artificial intelligence to compile this information from different applications and connected Galaxy devices. According to the leaked information, Galaxy S25 devices will respond to the voice command "Hey, Gemini," indicating a stronger integration with Google's AI assistant compared to Samsung's proprietary Bixby. The new "Now Brief" feature appears to replicate aspects of Google's previous services, providing summaries in a card format. Official Galaxy S25 wallpapers are leaked: Make your own versions now Furthermore, the promotional materials suggest that Samsung is adopting Google's branding colors for Gemini, shifting away from its traditional blue and purple hues. The visual representation indicates a move towards a more integrated marketing strategy, aligning with Google's visual identity. One notable command demonstrated in the marketing materials includes: "list the places mentioned in this video and save a Note," hinting at future Gemini Extensions for Samsung Notes. Currently, users rely on Google's Keep for similar functions. The latest updates on Gemini and the full details of the Galaxy S25 series are expected to be officially announced next week, with the rollout of this new AI overlay presumably occurring shortly thereafter.

Samsung teases new Galaxy AI for Galaxy S25 ahead of Unpacked -- and it puts Apple Intelligence on notice
Galaxy Unpacked is only a few days away, and with it comes a new teaser for an improved AI companion. And it goes beyond what the new Siri can do in Apple Intelligence. We have heard a fair amount about possible upgrades for Galaxy AI, but with Samsung's show on the horizon, we are seeing more official announcements. For instance, Samsung released a press release yesterday about enhancements to its Sketch-To-Image tool. It seems that isn't the only change that's coming, as a new teaser is showcasing an improvement to the Galaxy AI experience. Samsung's teaser shows a woman requesting to find a pet-friendly Italian restaurant with outdoor seating. She then asks it to send the details to a contact and add it to her calendar. What is impressive in the video is how this is all done in a single sentence. She doesn't have to make a request, then wait, then make a second request. It makes it appear that the Galaxy AI on the Galaxy S25 series can handle multiple requests over multiple apps. While the video doesn't go into much detail, the new functionality is likely connected with the next-generation Bixby. For reference, Samsung has reportedly been readying a substantial AI upgrade to Bixby. This includes Large Language Model (LLM) support, which silently released in China on the Galaxy Tab S10. While we didn't see the new version appear on the Galaxy Z Fold 6 or Galaxy Z Flip 6, it is expected to roll out globally on the Galaxy S25 series as part of OneUI 7. The new Siri in Apple Intelligence is smarter and more conversational, but the ability to voice control your apps isn't coming until a later update, likely iOS 18.4 in March. A new and improved Galaxy AI isn't all we are expecting to see at Galaxy Unpacked. We know that the show will likely focus on the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25 Plus and the Galaxy S25 Ultra. However, we expect the show to include information on Samsung's Project Moohan as well. We may also get more news on the Galaxy S25 Slim and the Galaxy Ring 2, but they don't appear to be on the cards. Galaxy Unpacked is only a few days away, so expect a lot of teasers in the lead-up. We will be sure to keep you appraised of all the new information, as well as a hands-on review of all the devices and features at the event itself.

Samsung's latest Galaxy S25 AI teaser channels major Jarvis energy
These capabilities are expected to arrive with the stable One UI 7 update but could be exclusive to the Galaxy S25 series at the start. Samsung's Galaxy S25 teasers are in high gear right now, with its January 22 Unpacked event approaching fast. Yesterday, the company unveiled upcoming Galaxy AI enhancements for its Sketch-to-Image tool. It also released a short teaser showcasing a seamless, conversational Galaxy AI experience set to debut on the next-generation flagships. The video shows a woman interacting seamlessly with Galaxy AI, asking it to find a pet-friendly Italian restaurant with outdoor seating, sharing the details with a friend, and adding the information to her calendar -- all in one flow. This suggests that the upcoming Galaxy S25 series will enable Galaxy AI to work across multiple apps on the user's behalf. This functionality is likely tied to the next-generation Bixby, which Samsung launched with advanced AI capabilities in China last year. With the Galaxy S25 series, the upgraded Bixby is expected to roll out globally as part of the One UI 7 experience, potentially also making it accessible on older Galaxy flagships. As highlighted in Samsung's latest teaser, the revamped Bixby aims to deliver a more natural and intuitive user experience. It is designed to retrieve information from apps like Calendar or Samsung Internet, understand on-screen context, and seamlessly integrate with apps for tasks such as getting directions or managing schedules.

New leak reveals what Gemini could do on the Galaxy S25 -- should Samsung be worried?
A new leak has revealed some of the possible Gemini AI extension integration with Samsung's stock apps on the Galaxy S25 series. As Galaxy Unpacked gets closer, we are seeing a lot of leaks and rumors in the build-up to the January 22 product launch. One of the most intriguing was a recent trailer that showed how seamless the Galaxy AI companion conversations will be with the Galaxy S25 series. However, it seems it isn't just Galaxy AI features that are part of the rumor mill as Google's Gemini has been the focus of one particular leak. A recent post on social media from user Chun Bhai on X, showed off several screenshots of the extensions Gemini will use with some of the base apps on Samsung phones. If accurate, these screenshots could give us our best clue regarding how third-party AI could work on the new devices and what limitations it might have. For instance, it seems Gemini will be able to create, edit and delete events in Samsung Calendar, as well as capture info from images. However, the image indicates that the Gemini can't detect overlapping events or share created ones, something Galaxy AI seemed to do in the trailer. The next screenshot gives us an idea of what Galaxy AI could do with Samsung's notes app. According to the image, the AI can create and summarize notes as well as retrieve notes based on descriptions and titles. However, users can't direct the AI to create or delete folders, add note tags or invite people to share notes. The final image shows off the extensions available for the Samsung Reminder app. The image indicates that Gemini can create reminders for a specific time and date, edit details and search for specific reminders. Although the image reveals that there are no extensions to add details to an already-created reminder. We should take these images with a grain of salt, although the content doesn't show off anything we wouldn't expect. What is interesting is that, compared to what we saw in the Galaxy AI trailer, Gemini appears pretty minimal. Considering the rumored improvements to Bixby, this isn't surprising. However, we won't know more until we can directly compare the two on one of the new devices. There's a lot more coming during Galaxy Unpacked, including the likely launches of the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25 Plus and the Galaxy S25 Ultra. The event takes place Wednesday, January 22 in San Jose, California. The event gets underway at 1 p.m. ET/ 10 a.m. PT/ 6 p.m. GMT. We have a full guide on how to watch Galaxy Unpacked so that you don't miss anything.

The Samsung Galaxy S25 debut is the biggest test of AI phones yet
It's still too early to call a second-gen iteration a make-or-break moment, but it's clear the rest of the AI smartphone hopefuls will be looking to Samsung next week. A new lineup of flagship Galaxy devices is right around the corner. On Wednesday, January 22, Samsung will hold its annual January edition of Unpacked, where the tech giant has historically pulled back the curtain on its latest and greatest. This includes new iterations of its mainstay Galaxy phones, which about 1 in 5 smartphone owners worldwide have. This year will likely be more jam-packed than usual, with rumored AR glasses and a new Galaxy ring on the agenda. And sure, a first-ever pair of smart glasses would steal the show, but Samsung's Galaxy phones may have stakes equally as big as a first-ever product category -- and that has everything to do with (drum roll) ... AI. AI in phones isn't new. Samsung launched Galaxy AI last January, and both Google and Apple have their version of what an AI-centric phone can be. But that fact -- that AI phones aren't new -- makes this year's launch even more critical. Last year, Galaxy AI introduced an array of new features to the Galaxy lineup, including AI photo assist, live translation, Circle to Search, and more. Whether people have fully embraced those AI features outside of Circle to Search remains up for debate, but one thing is sure: We expect Samsung to expound on Galaxy AI somehow. With any year-over-year software update, AI features aren't groundbreaking; they're a work in progress. That means Samsung's job will not be to create a fully realized AI device but merely to move the needle. Despite the focus on AI in phones, many of the applications for it -- whether from Apple, Samsung, or Google -- are fairly similar. Image generation, photo editing, text writing, and email interpretation are just some of the uses of AI in phones. Despite the nascency of AI in phones, there's a general playbook, and but it's too early to tell if that playbook is practical and changing user behavior. There's just not enough evidence yet. In fact, data show that the opposite may true. According to a recent survey, both Samsung and Apple users have responded tepidly to AI features, with most people saying they find little to no value in using them. The mild reaction to AI features in phones could be due to the newness of those features, or it might just be that the applications that titans like Samsung and Apple are currently offering don't feel compelling yet. The onus is on Samsung to find out what does speak to people. According to recent reports, that answer might be AI agents. According to a recent teaser video from Samsung, a new AI agent (or companion as the company bills it) in Galaxy AI could expand Galaxy AI's capabilities to help you do things like fill your calendar and make reservations. That might not be mind-blowing, but if AI agents are in fact on the agenda, then why stop there? As long as you're giving AI the keys to pulling levers on your device, why not unleash an agent to do even more burdensome tasks like ordering you an Uber or maybe pulling a picture from your camera roll and posting it to Instagram? Why not unleash an AI agent to read your calendar and then send a relevant email? The point is: If Samsung is tasked with providing a real second-gen version of Galaxy AI and the response thus far has been tepid, we might see a lot more out of this year's update than you think. A new iteration of Galaxy AI will obviously be big for Galaxy phones, but it's not just Samsung in the spotlight, it's the entire idea of an AI smartphone. With so much of the value of future smartphone experience being hinged on AI, Samsung, Apple, and Google will have to prove that their future is one worth buying into. And while generating emoji is fun and cute, I think most people's expectations are probably higher. While lots of people love useful features like Circle to Search, generative AI on smartphones is still firmly first-gen, and as the awareness and hype around AI smartphones grows, so too will the expectations. Whether Samsung is actually capable of rolling the ball forward in a way that feels substantive will be a major test of whether AI smartphones can deliver on their promise of a transformative UI. It's still too early to call a second-gen iteration a make-or-break moment, but it's clear the rest of the AI smartphone hopefuls will be looking to Samsung next week.

Gemini Could Be Integrated With Samsung Apps With Galaxy S25 Series
Now Brief is tipped to be a part of the Galaxy AI suite of features Samsung Galaxy S25 series is tipped to get two new artificial intelligence (AI) features. The next generation of Samsung's flagship smartphones is expected to be unveiled at the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event on January 22. Ahead of the launch, the tech giant had teased a couple of new AI features for the devices. Now, a tipster has leaked two new AI features that could be introduced. As per the leak, the Gemini AI assistant could be integrated with several of the company's first-party apps, allowing it to perform more complex tasks. According to a Technoblog post, the South Korean tech giant is planning two new AI features for the Galaxy S25 series that it has not teased so far. The tipster claimed to have accessed promotional images of the smartphone lineup that detail these features. First is the integration of Google's Gemini with Samsung's first-party apps. The tipster claimed that Gemini will gain access to apps such as the Calendar, Notes, and Reminder, allowing the AI-powered virtual assistant to carry out more complex tasks previously not possible. The same feature was also tipped by an X (formerly known as Twitter) user in a post. Based on the shared image, users can say the command "Hey Gemini" to trigger the assistant and ask it to capture specific information from a YouTube video and save it in a Samsung Note, and it will be able to do it. Notably, Gemini can already connect with several Google apps such as Maps and YouTube via extensions. It appears similar extensions for Samsung apps will be used to give access to the AI assistant. However, since the tech giant has already teased an AI makeover for Bixby, it raises the question of whether a stronger integration of Gemini could negatively impact Bixby's adoption. Additionally, the tipster claimed a new Now Brief feature will also arrive with the Galaxy S25 series. The feature is said to show a summary of the user's day styled within cards. Based on the image shared, there are three screens. First says "Good morning" and shows the weather forecast and energy score. The latter appears to be based on data collected from a Galaxy Watch or the Galaxy Ring. Apart from that, the "For your route" screen shows cards for Maps and music player apps, likely to assist the user while they're on the move. A "Night summary" screen shows information such as "memorable moments" and daily activity goals. It is unclear whether there are other such screens within Now Brief or not. It should be noted that the information about the new AI features has not been announced by Samsung, and they may or may not be present when the Galaxy S25 series is launched. Confirmation can only be ensured after the features are officially announced.

Samsung Teases Bixby's AI Features, Could Arrive With Galaxy S25 Series
Samsung rolled out the AI-powered Bixby in China last year AI features in Bixby are said to be part of One UI 7 Bixby appears to be able to handle multiple tasks at once Samsung shared a video teasing artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities in its native virtual assistant Bixby on Monday. While the South Korean tech giant did not directly mention Bixby, it showed a woman speaking to her device and asking it to perform several tasks, which is how Bixby works. Last year, the company released the AI-powered Bixby in China with the Galaxy W25 series. The AI assistant is now rumoured to arrive globally with the Galaxy S25 series, set for debut at the Galaxy Unpacked event on January 22. In a 17-second-long video posted on YouTube, the tech giant gave a glimpse at what users can expect with the next generation of Bixby. Titled "A true AI companion is coming", the video shows a woman speaking with her device. In a conversational tone, she tells the device to "Find a cat-friendly Italian restaurant with outdoor seating." She also tells the device to send it to a friend and to add it to her calendar. Interestingly, nowhere in the entire video did Samsung name-drop Bixby or showcase any of the AI features that might be integrated into it. However, some features were still quite easy to point out. First, it appears that the AI-powered Bixby will be able to understand natural language commands and can process multiple tasks at once. It also seems to have gained better integration with third-party applications since it can make a restaurant reservation and add it to the Calendar app. Additionally, it might also have agentic capabilities if it can book reservations. None of these features are confirmed and have only been hinted at in the video. Samsung revealed that the Chinese version of the AI-powered Bixby features a better understanding of the context behind commands. It can also respond via text and videos sourced from the web to share the most relevant information. Additionally, the virtual assistant can also translate web pages and save generated outputs in different Microsoft Office file formats such as Word, PPT, and more. AI-powered Bixby in China also received a redesigned interface. The virtual assistant can be opened in full-screen mode with the text field at the bottom and a minimal layout with a white background. Its usual pop-up window can also be summoned on any other screen and over any app.

'Hey, Gemini!' Mega Galaxy S25 leak confirms major AI upgrades and lots more
The next generation of Galaxy is coming! Reserve your new Galaxy device today ahead of the January 22 launch and receive $50 Samsung Credit when you preorder and purchase the reserved device. Samsung is also offering up to $1,250 additional savings with trade-ins, and a chance to win $5,000 Samsung Credit, too! The image also shows that Gemini will be able to perform functions across multiple apps on the new phones. It highlights how the AI could possible extract information from a YouTube video and create a Note using that information with a single command. This cross-app functionality is also something Samsung recently showcased in a teaser the company posted on YouTube just the other day. At that time, we didn't know Gemini would be the AI helper doing all the heavy lifting. We thought it would be a Galaxy AI-infused Bixby. Looks like Samsung has opted for Google's powerful AI assistant over its own.

Galaxy S25 AI features -- I asked the Tom's Guide staff what they want to see
We're just a few days away from Galaxy Unpacked 2025 and the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S25 lineup. And that should bring us a whole new batch of Galaxy AI features, as Samsung looks to bolster the number of tools on its phones powered by artificial intelligence. Galaxy AI made its debut on the Galaxy S24 series a year ago, and Samsung has made no secret of its desire to add more features to its AI toolkit. Already, Galaxy flagships support simple-yet-useful features like Circle to Search as well as more complex generative editing capabilities for photos. From rumors surrounding the Galaxy S25, it sounds as if Samsung's primary focus with the next round of Galaxy AI additions will be on its Bixby personal assistant. Samsung reportedly wants a smarter assistant that can handle complex commands based on the information it retrieves for you -- a teaser video from Samsung has the assistant looking for restaurants, sending that info to a contact and blocking out a meeting time on a calendar, all at the same time. That sounds interesting enough, but we hope it's not the only Galaxy AI feature Samsung plans to introduce for its latest phones. Ahead of Galaxy Unpacked, the phones team at Tom's Guide put our collective heads together and came up with a short wish list of AI features we hope to see when the Galaxy S25 lineup arrives later this week. In some of the videos I record of myself, I frequently rely on a teleprompter to read a script -- but in doing so, it can be telling that I'm reading because of my eyes. That's why I'd love to see some sort of recording feature with Galaxy AI that would let me read a script on the phone's display, while making it look like my eyes are always locked straight at the camera. Technically, this wouldn't be a new capability, as similar features already exist, even if they cost a lot. There's NVIDIA's "Eye Contact" feature and a similar one from Descript just to name two. By using AI to track my eyes, it could "correct" video if I were looking away at a teleprompter, or if my eyes have the subtle movements of reading a script. It's a cool feature and something I think that Samsung could whip up as part of its updated Galaxy AI suite. This would be one way of making the videos I host easier because let's face it, reading a script is a lot easier than trying to wing it -- especially if it's something long. -- John Velasco If you're like me, you sign up for a lot of subscriptions from your phone -- streaming services, subscription-based apps and the like. If you're also like me, you've got to keep tabs on when those subscriptions are up for renewal or when that free trial you signed up for morphs into a recurring payment. But why keep track of those things on your own, when an AI tool should be able to do it for you? What I'd like to see is a subscription manager built into my phone that's smart enough to ping me whenever a subscription is about to roll over for another billing cycle so I don't wind up paying for something out of inertia or forgetfulness. It'd be even better if I could extend that capability beyond whatever subscriptions I've signed up for on my own to any sort of recurring payment with a regular due date, from utilities to gym memberships. Phone makers want their devices to become your digital wallet. Well, that doesn't just mean being able to pay for things with your phone but also managing the different things you're supposed to be paying for, too. -- Philip Michaels I prefer my AI features to be productivity-flavored, and while it's not particularly flashy, Google's At a Glance widget, found on its Pixel phones, is one of the more useful tools I've come across. This widget can display all kinds of information, from the current weather to upcoming events to your Bluetooth accessories' battery level to tickets for upcoming shows or flights. A version of At a Glance is available to all recent Android phones via the Google app, but it's nowhere near as fully-featured as what you get on devices like the Pixel 9. That's why Samsung ought to try and make its own version. Samsung also has the unique option to integrate both Google-made apps and its own Galaxy apps to add even more utility for its users. Plus, with its larger portfolio of devices like the Galaxy Ring, its Galaxy Book laptops or its numerous WiFi-connected home appliances, there's much more potential to be found in cross-device functionality. Seems like a no-brainer to me. -- Richard Priday With AI, there's always a lot of emphasis on improving communication between you and your phone -- particularly when it comes to being understood by the AI. So far this has been focused on asking your phone to do stuff, but I haven't seen any mention of using AI to improve dictation and other speech-to-text features. Because, frankly, the process right now is often so bad that it isn't even worth bothering with. As someone who has to spend a lot of time typing at my desk, it would be pretty helpful not to have to use a keyboard, even more so if I'm typing on my phone, since I'm usually pretty clumsy and prone to errors when using an on-screen keyboard. Being able to say those words and have my phone understand what's going on would be a massive help. But, sadly, current methods are pretty lackluster and prove to be either difficult to get going or limited in their understanding of what you say. Dictation isn't really worth much if you have to go back and edit every other word. Samsung has long offered these little productivity flourishes with its phones, like DeX, and enabling a free, easy-to-use AI dictation app could be the next addition in that spirit. And since Samsung can fall back on Google AI and its own expertise, it has the opportunity to do something few big tech firms have bothered with. -- Tom Pritchard

Gemini extensions for Samsung apps could supercharge Galaxy AI on the S25
Summary New Gemini extensions are in the works for Samsung apps. Users will be able to interact with Samsung Calendar, Notes, and Reminder through Gemini. Gemini integration is expected to be announced at a Galaxy Unpacked event next week. ✕ Remove Ads It looks like stock Samsung apps are getting Gemini extensions in the near future. Leaker Chun Bhai (@chunvn8888 on Twitter) has shared screenshots detailing Gemini integration for a number of Samsung apps: Samsung Calendar, Samsung Notes, and Samsung Reminder. Given the timing of the leak, it seems likely that these new integrations will be announced alongside the Galaxy S25 series, set to debut at a Galaxy Unpacked event next week. The highlighted functionality doesn't include any surprises, but it all seems relatively useful. You'll be able to create and search through notes, reminders, and calendar events in Samsung's app ecosystem through Gemini, using natural language. There are some limitations spelled out in the screenshots: for example, you can't create or delete folders in Samsung Notes using Gemini. You can see all the info in the tweet below. ✕ Remove Ads This new info comes just a day after we saw another S25 AI feature leak: Now Brief, which seems like a Samsung-branded, AI-powered take on an older Android feature called Google Now. Like Google Now, Now Brief shows relevant info that updates throughout the day, including weather conditions, info from Samsung Health, and "memorable moments" from the day in the form of photos. (I don't think I need AI to curate a selection of photos I took today, but the feature could be fun on days when you've snapped a lot of pictures.) Coming to Galaxy S25? Source: @UniverseIce on Twitter Samsung and Google both offer their own suites of AI features, but Samsung's Galaxy AI has integrated Google services since the beginning: Circle to Search was rolled out alongside Samsung's other Galaxy AI features, and was even exclusive to Samsung devices for a time. Samsung's working on its own AI assistant in Bixby AI, but this type of collaboration is hardly unprecedented for Google and Samsung. ✕ Remove Ads We don't have any direct confirmation that these Gemini integrations for Samsung apps will debut on the Galaxy S25 series, but given the timing, it seems like a sure thing. We'll know more soon: the next Galaxy Unpacked is scheduled for January 22. Thanks: Moshe

Gemini may soon be able to tap into Samsung Notes, Calendar, and Reminders
AI is a central focus of Samsung's smartphone efforts nowadays, and the company is partnering closely with Google to leverage Gemini on Galaxy devices. According to a new leak, Gemini may be able to tap into Samsung's core apps on the Galaxy S25 series including Samsung Notes and more. Samsung's partnership with Google over AI features primarily focused on Circle to Search in last year's Galaxy S24 series, but it seems the company will be leaning more on Gemini this time around, as leaks have been hinting. Now, we're getting a better look at what's in store. Leaker @chunvn8888 on Twitter/X posted screenshots of Gemini extensions for Samsung Notes, Samsung Calendar, and Samsung Reminder. This would allow Google's AI to tap into - with user permission - those preinstalled Samsung apps to better provide answers, perform tasks, and more. For Samsung Calendar, Gemini would be able to create, edit, and delete events, including being able to create an event from an image. Similarly, Gemini could use Samsung's Reminder app to create, edit, or delete reminders, though it's limited in some functions as pictured below. Samsung Notes will also be able to integrate with Gemini, with the ability to not only create new notes, but summarize existing ones, and "retrieve your notes based on descriptions and titles." It all sounds pretty useful. These features will most likely arrive alongside the Galaxy S25 series in Samsung's latest wave of Galaxy AI features, but the functionality will be tying into Google's app more than anything else. Other Gemini extensions available today include Gmail, WhatsApp, Google Workspace, Spotify, and many more. Samsung has reservations open now for the Galaxy S25 series, with a $50 credit when you pre-order and up to $1,200+ in savings. Reservations are free, and there's no obligation to actually buy a device if you sign up, but there's no other time you can get that $50 credit.
