Latest One UI 7 leak reveals Samsung features and new lock screen coming with Android 15
Likely ahead of a beta announcement, a new One UI 7 leak has revealed some of the features Samsung will launch on Galaxy devices alongside Android 15. We've already learned a lot of what's coming in Samsung's One UI 7 update such as split notifications and Quick Settings, redesigned icons, and a lot more, but a new leak from Android Headlines is revealing some other features coming in the update. According to this latest report, Samsung is planning to bring a handful of new features, starting with the previously-announced ability for Circle to Search to help with homework. That functionality has yet to roll out, but Samsung apparently plans to include it in One UI 7. Along the same lines, Samsung's own Parental Control tools are getting a boost in this update including the ability to track the location of child's device and for kids to send a request to buy a specific app. There are, of course, more AI features as well. One UI 7 will apparently use AI to add depth to pictures through "Live Effects," as well as adding new styles to "Sketch to Image," a feature that launched on Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6 in One UI 6.1.1. The "Energy Score" feature that works across a Galaxy smartphone and a Galaxy Watch also appears to be expanding in One UI 7. Compared to other leaks, this latest one doesn't reveal much in terms of tangible or exciting changes, but that may help temper expectations for when the update does finally arrive. From the looks of it, One UI 7 seems much more focused on delivering a visual overhaul than new features. This latest report does help show that, too, with a clear look at Samsung's new app icons from the update. The same video, seen below, also shows off the new lock screen with a visible chip for ongoing activities, similar to Apple's Live Activities and Google's work with "Ongoing notifications" for Android 16. Another leaked video recently showed off lock screen updates, but didn't showcase this new functionality. That same video also showed that the split notifications and Quick Settings, also seen in Samsung's clip below, will be optional.

Here's our first good look at One UI 7's revamped lock screen for Galaxy phones Key Takeaways Samsung's One UI 7 update for Android 15 is delayed until early 2025. A new leak offers a detailed peek at what's to come, including revamped icons, a new lock screen, new AI photo effects, and new styles of Sketch to Image. Most importantly, Samsung is focused on bolstering its built-in parental controls, and it seems to be doing just that by introducing live location tracking. ✕ Remove Ads We know that Samsung has hit a roadblock with its Android 15-based One UI 7 update. The major OS update, which landed on Pixel devices earlier this month, is not coming out in stable for Samsung devices until early 2025, coinciding with the launch of the Galaxy S25 series. While the official release is months away, One UI 7 beta will be available to developers before the end of this year. Related Samsung's Android 15 update is arriving depressingly later than usual At least One UI 7 Beta is coming by the end of the year 2 We know you're eagerly awaiting the official release, we are too -- however, while we wait, a newly leaked sneak peek at new One UI 7 elements should keep us all satiated, at least for a little while. ✕ Remove Ads It is unclear how Android Headlines got access to what appears to be the official marketing material for One UI 7, and it didn't name a source, but the material sure does look authentic and offers a lot of information about the update -- some reiterated and some new. Source: Android Headlines For example, we've known for a while that One UI 7 would revamp the way icons look, complete with an option for icon theming. The leaked material essentially confirms that the update will bring new icons, and offers a clear look at some of the most common ones, including the Phone, Camera, Contacts, and Settings apps. Further, the lock screen in the leaked material looks a lot more intuitive with two shortcuts (one on the bottom left and one on the bottom right -- likely customizable), and a Dynamic Island-like chip for live activities in the center that shows music controls, timer progress, voice recording controls, and more. One UI 7 will bring enhanced parental controls Close Image credit: Android Headlines ✕ Remove Ads On the photography front, One UI 7 will reportedly introduce new AI-powered enhancements to "restyle your portraits. This will include effects like Comic, 3D Cartoon, Watercolor, and more, essentially like Sketch to Image, but instead of sketching, you're applying the effects to a portrait. Sketch to Image will gain new artistic effects and styles as well. Elsewhere, Samsung devices already offer parental controls, but it looks like the section will expand with One UI 7. According to the report, features like app download and app purchase permissions will make their way to parental controls, alongside an option to block certain websites while whitelisting others, ensuring that children can only access age-appropriate content. Samsung's built-in parental controls will also finally gain location tracking with One UI 7. For reference, you've long had to set up parental controls via Google Family link to be able to monitor your kids' live location. ✕ Remove Ads

Massive One UI 7 leak reveals everything you want to know
During the One UI 7 announcement at SDC, Samsung avoided revealing any details about the update. As such, we have had to rely on a drip feed of leaks to get more information on the Android 15 skin. But today's leak has opened the floodgates, possibly revealing every new change coming with One UI 7. The folks over at Android Headlines have shared a massive leak regarding One UI 7. This leak touches on everything from the lock screen and notifications to AI photo features and security. First up, it's reported that Samsung is updating the look of its icons, something that we've heard before. You can see a comparison between old vs new in the screenshots below. We've also recently found out in an earlier leak about the enhanced lock screen, offering more customization options and widgets. However, today's leak adds that Samsung is introducing smart notification management, also shown below. Next, it appears that Samsung owners will be able to use Circle to Search to get help with math, physics, and history homework. Using the feature on a problem will reportedly bring up explainers, videos, and results to help you solve the problem instead of automatically giving you an answer. Expanding on the AI features, it looks like we can expect more photography AI tools. One such tool, called Live Effects, will add depth to your photos. It's said that you'll also be able to use a number of AI-generated artistic effects to restyle your portraits. The last photo feature mentioned is AI Zoom, which will use the Pro Visual Engine to make sure zoomed-in photos are clear even at 100x. Finishing up on the AI features, the Sketch to Image tool is set to get more options. This feature was first introduced on the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6. If you're unfamiliar with this feature, users can draw something and AI will take over to turn that sketch into artwork. When it first rolled out, the available options included 3D Cartoon, Sketch, and Watercolor. Something for the parents out there, One UI 7 appears to be getting parental controls. Just as it sounds, this feature will allow parents to set what their kids have access to. So you can restrict your children from using certain apps or visiting certain websites. There also appears to be a feature that allows parents to track the physical location of their child. Meanwhile, the Energy Score feature that first arrived with Samsung's latest foldables is getting some updates. The leak doesn't dive too far into what changes are coming. However, it says you'll be able to "become more aware of your health effects and daily life." There are also wellness tips meant to help you improve your Energy Score. As for the security portion of the leak, it's mentioned that Samsung Knox will be there. But the report does not reveal if there have been any changes to the feature. The One UI 7 rollout won't happen until early next year. The beta is expected to come before the end of this year, but the date is still unknown for the release. So this leak will just have to tide you over until the update finally arrives.
