Global professional services company Accenture has announced that Arundhati Chakraborty has been appointed the group chief executive of Accenture Operations effective on September 1, the company stated. With over 30 years of industry experience, Chakraborty currently leads over 185,000 Accenture people across more than 125 Intelligent Operations Centers, focusing on compressed transformation through analytics, artificial intelligence, and automation. "Arundhati will be responsible for growing the company's $10 billion Operations business and bringing even greater innovation to Accenture's clients, tapping vast opportunities created with generative AI (GenAI) and automation," the statement said adding that clients look to reinvent their operations using tech, data and AI. Currently, Chakraborty, who has over 30 years of industry experience, is the global lead for delivery and transformation, operations leading 185,000 people across more than 125 intelligent operations centers focusing on compressed transformation through analytics, artificial intelligence and automation. Early this year, ET reported that large global companies including Accenture are camping their senior leaders out of India where global leadership have several new reporting and controlling positions based out of India, with teams reporting to them from across the globe. Chakraborty will continue to be based in Bengaluru and Yayob will also remain in his new role based out of the US. With two decades of CMT experience, Tayob has held many leadership positions at Accenture, including leading the North America CMT consulting practice and the Salesforce business group in Accenture Technology.
