How to pre-order iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro for launch day | Stuff
The iPhone 16 and 16 Pro are part of the best smartphone line-up Apple has ever produced, introducing a host of innovative AI features that aim to simplify our lives. They're brand-new, and are set to compete with the Google Pixel 9, Samsung Galaxy S24, and other handsets from this year. Want to get your hands on the latest iPhone? Here's how you can pre-order the iPhone 16 and 16 Pro so you get your device on launch day. Apple announced the iPhone 16 on Monday, 9 September at a keynote live from Apple Park. But, you can't order the new devices straight away. As per Apple's usual schedule, you'll need to wait until the end of the week to pre-order the new iPhone models. This year, iPhone pre-orders start on Friday, 13 September at 1pm BST/8am EST/5am PST. Once you've pre-ordered the new iPhone models, you'll have to wait another week until the devices can actually be in your hands. They'll start shipping out and arriving in Apple stores from Friday, 20 September. To pre-order the new iPhones, you'll need to head directly to the Apple Store. Once pre-orders have opened, you can add the devices to your cart and proceed to the checkout as normal. To try and save time, here are direct links to the new iPhones: If you want to make sure you get your new iPhone on launch day, Apple will let you pre-select your new iPhone before Friday. This lets you fill out any finance information for approval beforehand. And then, on launch day, you'll find the device you selected in your cart ready to buy. If you're after a new iPhone but want to get the device on a contract instead of buying it from Apple, you have a few options. Certain carriers have released early contract deals for the new iPhones, but more will be added in the coming days - after pre-orders go live. Here are some of the best iPhone 16 carrier deals in the UK and US so far: Some US carriers are offering the device for free when you trade-in your old iPhone, so check with your carrier for the best deals.

Pre-order Date Revealed: the Apple iPhone 16 or iPhone 16 Pro
Apple unveiled the long-awaited iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro. Pre-orders begin Friday! Earlier today, September 9, Apple streamed its Apple Event introducing a number of new products including the AirPods 4 and the Apple Watch Series 10, but we're here to talk about the Apple iPhone 16 and it's various versions. Made from aerospace-grade aluminum and 80% recycled materials, The new iPhone 16 is durable and slick as ever. It's water and dust resistant durability with 2x tougher glass than any other smartphone on the market. It is available in ultramarine, teal and pink, along with the traditional white and black. Size-wise the iPhone 16 comes in at 6.1 inches with the iPhone 16 Plus at 6.7 inches. The iPhone 16 Plus having the largest iPhone display, ever. A new customizable action button on the side can be set to translate a phrase, identify a song, and more. You can even assign different actions based on time of day like flashlight at night. Apple is toting that this next generation of iPhone is the first build with generative AI in mind from the ground up. The iPhone 16 is built with the new A18 chip created specifically for it. A 16-core neural engine makes the iPhone capable of handling large generative models. It has 17% more memory bandwidth and is 30% faster than the iPhone 15 (60% faster than the iPhone 12). Faster than competition too, challenging even desktop PC so Apple claims. And that's just the non-Pro version. Apple Intelligence can create images, language, and take action on your behalf. Writing Tools will be available right from anywhere you type to rephrase Slack messages to your boss or invites to a party sent over iMessage. You can create unique emojis or original images on the fly, which I guess is just a thing we need to have everywhere in our lives. Notifications can be summarized from the lock screen so you can get the gist of what you're missing in a longwinded group chat. A genuinely interesting improvement Apple Intelligence offers is what it's done to Siri as it enters a "new era" with richer language understanding and a more expansive knowledgebase. The livestream showed off a user asking Siri to "Send erica the photos from Saturday's barbecue" and then it did it. This is honestly pretty cool, as it feels like Apple is finally fulfilling the promise of what Siri was supposed to be from the start -- a digital assistant that can help you with simple tasks and make your life easier. Private Cloud Compute is Apple's way of ensuring that your data is never shared and stored, handling more of the AI computing on the user side, and not retaining anything that must be computed over the cloud. New controls on the side of the iPhone change the way you take photos and videos. Just slide finger across the side to adjust camera controls like zoom or depth of field, and use it in third party apps like Snapchat. The iPhone 16 features a 48 MP main camera with 4x more resolution than that on the iPhone 14 as well as a 12M Ultra Wide camera that can capture 2.6x more light than the previous iPhone. It's now built for macrophotography, allowing you to get super close to small subjects and still retain detail and light. Using machine learning, unwanted audio from background sounds like wind can be removed from video automatically. Pre-orders begin Friday, September 13, and release on September 20.

Apple iPhone 16 preorders are live this Friday: here's everything you need to know
Apple has just confirmed that iPhone 16 preorders will go live this Friday worldwide, so there's not long to wait to get your hands on the latest premium flagships from the brand. The new devices are, as expected, the Apple iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max. All four carry significant new upgrades to the chipset, cameras, and a host of new AI features that the brand is calling 'Apple Intelligence'. Overall, Apple has put a massive focus on not only internal hardware improvements but also on software with these devices, although you'll still see new colors and fresh design tweaks like the new Camera Control button. The devices will debut at the same starting price as last year ($799), and preorders will start at 5:00 AM PDT / 8:00 AM ET / 1:00 PM GMT. The devices are due to ship by Sept. 20 so there will be a short wait time before the iPhone 16 range is officially released. While preorders aren't live just yet, Apple has already confirmed several of the trade-in rebates that will be available from Friday. As expected, Apple itself has a rebate of up to $650 / £645 off for unlocked devices across the entire range, which is exactly the same discount that's been available at the official store for a few months now. Apple's keynote event also mentioned trade-in rebates of up to $1,000 off in the US, which will almost certainly be from AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile. No deals have been listed on the Apple site just yet so we'll have to wait until Friday for official confirmation in regard to specifics. Similarly, contract deals at the major networks in the UK won't be going live until Friday so we can't list pricing just yet. Our standalone iPhone 16 deals page will be covering launch promotions in more detail over the next few days, including recommendations for the best savings this Friday. Both the iPhone 16 and 16 Pro represent fairly substantial upgrades compared to the previous models. From the new A18 series chips built from the ground up for AI integration to the improved cameras, these devices offer plenty of enticing new features. First up, the A18 Series chipsets come with the debut of 'Apple Intelligence', which, as the name suggests, is a whole suite of new AI features across the entire range of existing Apple apps. Think ChatGPT-like language models for texts or emails, image and emoji generators, and a new 'Visual Intelligence' app that is just like Google Lens. In terms of hardware, the iPhone 16 series not only features new chipsets but also an improved camera with a new physical camera control button that directly interacts with the camera app. Apple is calling the new 48MP main camera the 'Fusion camera' since it can seamlessly switch between high-resolution images and more storage-friendly images, plus Stereoscopic capture for Apple Vision Pro. The iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max feature slightly bigger 6.3-inch and 6.9-inch displays with slimmer bezels versus their predecessors. The main upgrades for the Pro models this year include the option for 4K video at 120FPS (perfect for slow motion) as well as the usual 48MP wide angle lens and 5x telephoto (12MP and 2x on the standard iPhone 16).

Apple iPhone 16 Pre-Order and Sale Date: All You Need to Know
A new camera button, slightly updated designs, and many AI capabilities sum up the newly unveiled iPhone 16 series perfectly. Apple took the wraps off its latest iPhone 16 series at the 'Glowtime' event in Cupertino. If you are excited about all the new changes, new iPhone 16 colors, and want AI (Apple Intelligence) features before anyone else, you must be wondering when and where you can purchase these new devices. Hence, we have compiled this guide to help you with the iPhone 16 pre-order and sale dates. In its official announcement blog post, Apple confirmed that the iPhone 16 series will be available to pre-order starting from September 13, 2024, Friday, via Apple's website. Here is a complete list of pre-order start times around the world: As the time when the pre-orders go live approaches, you will find the Apple Store to be down. Once it is back online, you will be able to place your pre-orders for the next-gen iPhone. Those in the U.S. will have to set an early alarm (or multiple ones, if you're a heavy sleeper like me) to pre-order their desired iPhone 16 model. The earlier you place your order, the earlier will be your iPhone 16 shipping date. So, make up your mind on the model, variant, and color you wish to buy beforehand. You won't have time to waste as the pre-orders go live. If you somehow missed the pre-order date and the shipping dates have slipped farther into October then you need not worry. You can directly head to your nearest Apple Store on September 20, 2024, to secure yourself an iPhone 16, 16 Plus, 16 Pro, or 16 Pro Max, depending on your preference. The iPhone 16 series will be available to buy globally on this date, as confirmed by Apple. The iPhone 16 series will be available to purchase in over 58 countries and regions from September 20. However, some countries and regions such as Macao, Vietnam, and more will have to wait until September 27 to get their hands on the iPhone 16 models, which are priced starting at $799. The Cupertino giant will require you to spend $899 to get the bigger 16 Plus model. The iPhone 16 Pro models aren't seeing a price hike this time and are priced starting at $999 in the U.S. Those who want the gigantic iPhone 16 Pro Max will need to shell out $1,199 for the 256GB base variant.

Apple just announced the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus -- here's how to pre-order them
Apple is all in on AI. CEO Tim Cook kicked off its September 9 event "It's Glowtime" with the announcement that the new iPhone is built from the ground up to support Apple Intelligence. The event centered on the new Apple Watch 10 and AirPods 4, in addition to the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus, which come about a year after their predecessors, the iPhone 15 line, were announced. Leading up to Glowtime, there were rumors flying about the new iPhones from Apple. While the sizes were expected to stay the same, both the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus, were meant to have slimmed-down bezels and the addition of the Action button, which was previously only available on the iPhone Pro and Pro Max models. Now that Apple has officially announced its new phones, here's what to know about the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus. The iPhone 16 is embracing color with this new set of smartphones. Debuting in three new vibrant shades of pink, green, and blue, it's sure to make a statement, but that's just where the design changes begin. It's crafted from aerospace titanium, ceramic shields, and new, tougher glass for a more durable phone. All iPhone 16 models now include the multipurpose Action button that sits just above the volume buttons. Previously the Action button was only included on the Pro and Pro Max iPhone models, but now it appears to have expanded to all models. It allows you to customize how you want to use the button whether you want it to turn on the flashlight or start your car with compatible apps like FordPass. The camera on the iPhone 16 looks different than previous models with two stacked lenses rather than diagonal lenses (the iPhone 16 Pro models still have the three-camera design.) Plus there's a new way to control the camera on your iPhone with Camera Control, a button flush to the side, just below the lock button. Quickly click to snap a photo or use touch controls to preview or zoom in on your shot. Inside the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus is the A18 chip, which Apple claims to be 30 percent faster than the iPhone 15. It will run Apple Intelligence features, which are slowly being rolled out, some expected to launch later this month. During the iPhone 16 event, we didn't learn too many new details about Apple Intelligence, instead the company reiterated the new AI features that let you create your own emoji or spruce up your emails and text with better language. iOS 18 will power the iPhone 16 and supposedly give it a longer battery life. How much longer? Apple didn't say, so we'll have to test that for ourselves. The iPhone 16 measures in at 6.1 inches while the iPhone 16 Plus is slightly larger at 6.7 inches. If you're tempted to go even bigger, then you'll need to go for the iPhone 16 Pro models. The iPhone 16 starts at $799 and the iPhone 16 Plus starts at $899. They will be available to pre-order on Friday, September 13 (spooky) and will arrive on September 20.

How To Pre-Order the New iPhone 16, AirPods 4, and Apple Watch 10
Apple definitely knows how to make a splash with its bi-annual live events. Today's, titled "Glowtime," was particularly exciting, as we not only got some insight into what the new heavily AI-integrated iOS 18 will bring to the table but also iterations on some of the company's most popular products, including the brand icons like the iPhone and AirPods. If you're as excited to get your hands on this stuff as we are, pre-ordering is the way to go. We'll run down the best ways to put money down for the new Apple swag, along with when you can expect them to ship. Right now Apple's online store is the only place to pre-order, but we'll update when they go up at Amazon, Best Buy, and all other top retailers. The latest version of the cell phone that changed the world is getting a processor upgrade, with the new A18 CPU and a RAM boost up to 8GB at minimum. That's not surprising, considering the heavier resource load that Apple Intelligence, the new AI features, will require. The iPhone 15 line used a bunch of different processors across its versions, so consolidating to one single chip makes a lot of sense. A redesigned and rounded camera module with improved lenses is the most notable change on the exterior, which comes in five different colors. The baseline iPhone and the iPhone Plus come with two rear cameras, as well as a dedicated camera button that taps into the AI-powered Visual Intelligence tool coming in a later iOS release. The contextual Action button seen on the last generation of iPhone Pros is also included here. For size, the 16 has a 6.1-inch display, while the iPhone 16 Plus has a 6.7-inch display. Both have a peak brightness of 2,000 nits. An even bigger battery is also included, as well as improved thermal design for better gaming performance. It looks like a really solid update to an already iconic phone. The iPhone 16 will officially go on sale on September 13, starting at $799 Two models of the Pro were also trotted out. The more expensive mobiles boast all of the improvements above and a whole lot more. Hardware-wise, the company says the phone includes four studio-quality microphones that make it usable for recording music, presentations and more with improved clarity. A trio of cameras including a new 48MP ultra wide camera with a quad pixel sensor and larger cache for capturing fast-moving objects increases the potential for unique snaps.. You can also now shoot 4K in 120p for epic slow-motion effects. The A18 Pro CPU enables lots of high-end effects, including multi-layered voice memos, automated summaries, contextual image searching and more. It also uses 20 percent less power than the A17 Pro processor did, which Apple promises results in the longest battery life ever. Finally, they also have the biggest screens of any iPhones in history, at 6.3 inches fpr the Pro and 6.9 inches for the Pro Max. The iPhone 16 Pro will officially go on sale on September 20, starting at $999 The new baseline AirPods take inspiration from the fancier AirPods Pro, with two models new for 2024. The AirPods 4 come in two varieties: a baseline model for $129 and a version with active noise cancellation for $179. Both have the shorter stem design from the AirPods Pro, with higher-quality sound and personalized spatial audio. Improved Find My features are also along for the ride, as is wireless charging. One of the most fascinating new features is the ability to use the AirPods 4 as a hearing aid. The headphones include a suite of hearing loss-related tools, as well as the ability to use them to protect your ears at loud events like concerts. Both models of AirPods 4 will be available on September 20 for $129 and $179, respectively. The Apple Watch hits the double digits, and the market-leading wearable gets some incremental changes. The wide-angle OLED display is larger than the Apple Watch Ultra, with more usable real estate and rounded corners. It's 40% brighter when seen at an angle as well. Inside the case, you'll meet the new S10 processor, which Apple claims is faster and more power-efficient. It integrates with forthcoming Apple Intelligence features as well. The built-in speaker now lets you play music or other audio directly from it. On the health tracking front, the new WatchOS update includes support for sleep apnea monitoring, which could be a tremendous health benefit to many people. The Apple Watch Series 10 is available in four finishes: silver, gold and slate gray brushed titanium and black aluminum. Apple Watch Series 10 will be available on September 20th for $399. We're going to be testing all of this new tech according to our exhaustive benchmarking protocols, so stay tuned.
