iOS 18.4 tipped to launch soon with these game changing Siri upgrades
The latest iOS rumors suggest that Apple plans to release iOS 18.4 in April, which is just a few months away. The company is just getting ready to release iOS 18.3 to the masses, and now the rumor mill is already swirling with potential features and upgrades coming to iOS 18.4. Bloomberg's Mark Gurman reported that Apple has April on its radar for the next iOS version. As Apple hasn't started publicly beta testing iOS 18.4 yet, we don't know precisely what features to expect from the new version of the OS, but enough rumors have hit the internet for us to have a decent idea of what Apple has in mind. Siri looks to be getting the biggest upgrades for iOS 18.4. According to reports, the company is working on three crucial Siri changes for the update. The new version will offer personal context, on-screen awareness, and the ability to tap into apps using Apple's AI assistant. With Apple Intelligence, Siri is meant to be more functional, and these new upgrades could help it learn more about you, which should make it work better. For example, Siri could remember your questions and shape answers accordingly. Apple marketed on-screen awareness when it first announced Apple Intelligence, so it'll be nice to see that feature come to fruition. The same is true for tapping into apps. Apple showed off Siri's ability to take commands that let it take action in many apps, but it was one of the many features the company delayed for iOS 18. When we first announced Siri's upcoming features, these were some of the most exciting. It's nice to see them coming to iOS, even if we must wait until April. The iOS 18.4 software update will expand language support for Apple Intelligence. Currently, Chinese, English (India), English (Singapore), French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Spanish, and Vietnamese are on Apple's radar, and some other languages may arrive later in the year with another update. We could also get new emojis in the next big iOS update. The new emoji include a fingerprint, a face with bags under the eyes, a harp, a root vegetable, a leafless tree and splatter. While new emojis and other languages are hard to get excited about (unless your native tongue is one of the languages being added), the Siri upgrades in iOS 18.4 sound promising. If the whole point of AI is to make life easier, having more contextual awareness could take Siri to another level. Of course, it remains to be seen how well the new features work. We look forward to testing out iOS 18.4 once it hits beta.

The biggest Apple Intelligence upgrade of the year is expected to land in April - here's what you can expect
Powered by Apple Intelligence, Siri will get on-screen awareness and personal context A new report claims iOS 18.4 is expected to launch in April and that's huge news for the best iPhones and Apple Intelligence. With the arrival of iOS 18.3 expected some time over the next few weeks, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman is already dropping hints at when we can expect to see iOS 18.4. In this week's Power On newsletter, Gurman states, iOS 18.4 is "due by April". iOS 18.4 is expected to be the biggest Apple Intelligence upgrade yet, with its headline feature, the long-anticipated Siri AI update. Siri will gain major new functionality such as on-screen awareness and personal context to make the virtual assistant a true AI-powered personal assistant. Siri's major Apple Intelligence upgrades were first revealed in June 2024 during Apple's WWDC keynote and is one of, if not the, most impressive Apple Intelligence features we've seen so far. This upgraded version of Siri should function similarly to the newly announced Galaxy AI features on the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S25 smartphones, allowing you to ask questions related to what's on your screen and chain commands like asking Siri to find you a restaurant, add a booking to your calendar, and message your friend about it. Gurman says iOS 18.4 will also "add the upgraded App Intents software that lets you more precisely control the operating system via your voice." We've already received upgrades to Siri over the last few months. In September, iOS 18.1 added the ability to ask follow-up questions and gave the voice assistant a completely redesigned look on Apple Intelligence-compatible iPhones. Then, in December, iOS 18.2 added ChatGPT integration that allows users to ask OpenAI's chatbot complex questions that Siri just isn't capable of answering. While these updates have been well-received, many iPhone users have been waiting in anticipation of iOS 18.4's huge arrival. While we had some indication that iOS 18.4 would arrive before WWDC 2025, it's exciting to hear a trusted Apple source like Gurman say that we've only got a few more months to wait.

Apple's upcoming iOS 18.4 update, expected in April, promises significant AI-driven improvements to Siri, including on-screen awareness and personal context features.
Apple is gearing up for a significant update to its mobile operating system with iOS 18.4, slated for release in April 2025. This update is expected to bring substantial improvements to Siri, Apple's virtual assistant, powered by the company's artificial intelligence technology known as Apple Intelligence 12.
The upcoming iOS 18.4 update is set to introduce three crucial changes to Siri:
Personal Context: Siri will gain the ability to remember previous questions and shape answers accordingly, providing a more personalized interaction experience 1.
On-Screen Awareness: This feature will allow Siri to understand and interact with content currently displayed on the device's screen 12.
App Integration: Users will be able to control various apps using voice commands through Siri, expanding its functionality across the iOS ecosystem 12.
These enhancements are designed to make Siri more functional and adaptive to user needs, potentially rivaling the recently announced Galaxy AI features on Samsung's upcoming Galaxy S25 smartphones 2.
iOS 18.4 is also expected to broaden language support for Apple Intelligence. The update will likely include support for Chinese, English (India), English (Singapore), French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Spanish, and Vietnamese, with more languages potentially added later in the year 1.
While Siri improvements are the headline feature, iOS 18.4 may also introduce:
The focus on enhancing Siri with AI capabilities reflects Apple's broader strategy to integrate artificial intelligence more deeply into its products. This move follows earlier updates in iOS 18.1 and 18.2, which introduced features like follow-up questions, a redesigned interface, and ChatGPT integration 2.
The tech community and iPhone users are eagerly anticipating the release of iOS 18.4. While Apple has not officially confirmed the April release date, the report from Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, a trusted source for Apple news, has heightened expectations 12.
As with any major software update, the true impact of these new features will only be known once users can test them in real-world scenarios. However, the promised improvements suggest a significant step forward in Apple's AI capabilities and could potentially redefine the user experience for millions of iPhone users worldwide.
Apple's upcoming iOS 18.4 update promises significant AI-powered enhancements to Siri, potentially transforming it into a more intelligent and context-aware digital assistant.
