iPhone 16 series launched: Check iPhone 16, 16 Plus, 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max full India prices here
Apple launched the iPhone 16 series for global markets, India included, at its fall event on Monday, September 9. The annual refresh spawns four new models, per usual. These are the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max. Apple claims they are the first iPhones built from ground up to leverage Apple Intelligence, but core AI features won't be available at launch. Rather, they will come later through software update. On the face of it, these new iPhones do look like, new iPhones. They iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus have new vertically aligned cameras on the back and come in more "vibrant" colours. The iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max have bigger screens and enhanced camera capabilities. The 3nm A18 chip inside the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus is designed for power and efficiency. The iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max obviously have an even more powerful A18 Pro. The upgrades are both significant and useful. iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus full India prices The iPhone 16 comes in a choice of 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB at a price of Rs 79,900, Rs 89,900, Rs 1,09,900, respectively. The iPhone 16 Plus which has the same memory configurations, is priced at Rs 89,900, Rs 99,900, Rs 1,11,900, respectively. That's essentially the same price that the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus were launched at. But Apple did drop their prices by Rs 300 recently after India moved to reduce import duties on smartphones. Evidently, the rule doesn't apply to the new iPhones yet, or maybe they just cost more to make which is the only plausible explanation. iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max full India prices But moving on, the iPhone 16 Pro comes in as many as four memory variants -- 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB. There were reports that said Apple might start with 256GB this year and discontinue the 128GB model on the 16 Pro, but clearly, they were wrong. The iPhone 16 Pro starts at Rs 1,19,900 which is much cheaper than what the iPhone 15 Pro did at launch (Rs 1,34,900). The 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB models have been priced at Rs 1,29,900, Rs 1,49,900, Rs 1,69,900. The iPhone 16 Pro Max, which comes in a choice of 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB, is also cheaper than the iPhone 15 Pro Max, at Rs 1,44,900, Rs 1,64,900, Rs 1,84,900. iPhone 16 series availability The iPhone 16, 16 Plus, 16 Pro, and 16 Pro Max will be available for buying from September 20 with pre-order starting a week before, on September 13. iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus price drop As is usually the case, Apple has lowered the prices of the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus after the launch of the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus. The iPhone 15 now starts at Rs 69,900 for 128GB of storage while the 256GB and 512GB models cost Rs 79,900 and Rs 99,900. The iPhone 15 Plus is Rs 79,900 for 128GB, Rs 89,900 for 256GB and Rs 1,09,900 for 512GB. The iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus also have a new price with the former starting at Rs 59,900 and latter at Rs 69,900. The iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max have been discontinued.

iPhone 16 launch: Price in India, when to pre-order, sale date and all key info
iPhone 16 is here in all its glory, and Apple has left no stone unturned to highlight the array of software-centric Apple Intelligence AI features it includes, alongside the hardware upgrades. Apple has also revamped the colour options for the iPhone 16 vanilla models. The new colours are more saturated and will likely appeal more to consumers compared to last year's more muted, pastel shades. The iPhone 16 Pro models have also debuted in an all-new Desert Titanium finish, which is a blend of gold and brown. These new colours, hardware, and software upgrades will certainly attract many new buyers and drive pre-order sales for Apple. But how do you order them? Can you order them right now? Well, pre-orders haven't opened yet for Indians; read on to find out when you can start pre-ordering these new phones and when you can expect delivery. If you want to order any of the iPhone 16 series models -- whether it's the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, or iPhone 16 Pro Max -- you will need to visit the Apple India website at 5:30 pm IST on September 13 to place your order. Public service announcement: order yours as quickly as possible unless you are prepared to wait several weeks. This is especially true for the Pro models. Last year, we saw huge demand for the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, pushing delivery dates well beyond November. So, if you want one around the launch, be quick with your order. Alternatively, you can reserve a unit by contacting an offline store in your area; this could be an Apple reseller like Imagine or a third-party retail partner. However, be cautious, as many offline stores tend to push bundles at launch, offering expensive accessories. Be aware of what you're getting into. iPhone 16 Pro prices have surprised some buyers in India, as for the first time, Apple has launched a mainline iPhone at a lower price than the previous flagship. The iPhone 16 Pro costs ₹1,19,900 for the base 128GB model, the iPhone 16 Pro Max with 256GB base costs ₹1,44,900, and the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus start at ₹79,900 and ₹89,900 for the 128GB model, respectively. While the vanilla model prices are the same as the iPhone 15 prices from last year, the iPhone 16 Pro models have seen a price drop, now costing around ₹10,000 less compared to the iPhone 15 Pro models.

iPhone 16 launch today: India price, design, camera, processor and everything expected
As per tipster Apple Hub on X (formerly Twitter), iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus are likely to retain the same starting price from last year, at $799 and $899 for the 128GB variant respectively. Meanwhile, with the Indian government announcing an excise duty cut on mobile phones, a reduction in the iPhone 16 prices is likely. For reference, iPhone 15 was launched last year at a price of ₹79,990 in India. Rumours have it that Apple is planning to make a few changes to the design of the iPhone 16. For starters, the tech giant is expected to switch to a vertical camera layout, similar to the iPhone X or iPhone 12, in favour of the diagonal layout of its predecessor. The new layout is expected to help the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus capture spatial video. Apple is also said to be replacing the mute button on standard iPhone 16 models with the Action Button, which it introduced on iPhone 15 Pro models last year. Meanwhile, the company could also add a new 'Capture' button that would allow users to start video recording, zoom in and out, or focus on a subject. Analyst Ming Chi Kuo predicts that the standard iPhone 16 model will come in five colours: black, green, pink, blue and white. If true, this would mean that Apple is ending support for the blue and yellow colour variants of the standard iPhone. Several reports have suggested that Apple will use the same A18 chipset in all of its iPhone 16 models, as all of these devices will be able to perform AI tasks on the device. However, the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus processors could be differentiated from the Pro variants by their GPU performance. Meanwhile, Apple is also expected to give the iPhone 16 series a RAM boost, with 8GB of RAM compared to 6GB on its predecessor. According to a report by Apple Insider, the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus will come with the same camera setup as last year. It will reportedly include a 48MP primary shooter with f/1.6 aperture and 2x optical telephoto zoom, and an ultra-wide-angle lens that can take pictures at 0.5x. The ultra-wide-angle shooter may get a slight upgrade, with an aperture of f/2.2 instead of f/2.4 on the iPhone 15, meaning the new iPhones could theoretically allow more light to hit the sensor and thus improve low-light photography. The report also claims that the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus could also get macro photography support for the first time. Apple is expected to stick with the same 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch OLED displays with a 60Hz refresh rate for the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus. The standard variants are also expected to retain last year's price tag of around $800. However, a report from Macrumors suggests that Apple could be using micro-lens technology to improve brightness and reduce power consumption on the iPhone 16. 3.6 Crore Indians visited in a single day choosing us as India's undisputed platform for General Election Results. Recently, there have been several offers and discounts on the iPhone 14, iPhone 13, and iPhone 15 models. Discounts have ranged from Rs 10,000 to Rs 12,000 off the regular selling price, making them increasingly popular as consumers look to take advantage of last-minute deals before the iPhone 16 launch. Read More: Apple Iphone 16 Event Live Stream Details This raises a common annual question among tech enthusiasts: should one buy the current iPhone models at a discount or wait for the iPhone 16? Massive discounts have been noted recently on models including the iPhone 14, iPhone 13, and iPhone 15. For example, the iPhone 15 was priced at Rs 63,000 on Flipkart, which includes bank offers, down from its original price of Rs 79,900. Just last week, it was available for an effective price of Rs 44,600. Last month, the iPhone 14 Plus was available for Rs 54,999 with bank offers. Such attractive offers often leave consumers pondering whether to purchase the current discounted models or wait for the new iPhone 16. Recent price cuts, influenced by a reduction in import duties on components announced in the Union Budget 2024, have led to further price reductions. The duties were lowered from 20 percent to 15 percent, prompting Apple to reduce the prices of several iPhone models by 3-4 percent. For instance, the iPhone 13 saw a drop from Rs 59,900 to Rs 57,600, a Rs 2,300 reduction. The iPhone 14's price was slightly reduced from Rs 69,900 to Rs 69,600, and the iPhone 14 Plus was reduced by Rs 300, now priced at Rs 79,600 instead of Rs 79,900. The latest iPhone 15 series also underwent price adjustments. The iPhone 15, initially set at Rs 79,900, is now offered at Rs 79,600. The iPhone 15 Plus, initially priced at Rs 89,900, is now available for Rs 89,600. The iPhone 15 Pro price dropped from Rs 1,34,900 to Rs 1,29,800, offering a Rs 5,100 savings. The iPhone 15 Pro Max saw a reduction from Rs 1,59,900 to Rs 1,54,000, a total decrease of Rs 5,900. These price cuts do not include additional discounts from bank offers and e-commerce platforms. Also Read: iPhone 16 sale date: Here's when you could buy Apple's latest series phone in India "As someone who has been an early adopter of iPhones and has been using them for close to 15 years, I would say if you are already on the iPhone 15 series, you stick with it, and upgrade to the iPhone 16 only if you think you see something compelling in the new iPhones that you can't resist. Otherwise, you will most likely have little reason to upgrade, especially if you are an iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max user. You will have all the Apple Intelligence features too, and I am sure you will be able to live without the slight upgrades in the cameras and design," an expert commented. For those using older iPhone models or planning to switch to iPhones, it may be wise to purchase the current generation high-end iPhones, particularly the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. With significant discounts available, these models represent a robust upgrade from older generations and support the new Apple Intelligence features. "The iPhone 15 Pros are a significant upgrade from the older generation iPhones, but what makes it more significant is that it will support all Apple Intelligence features. So without costing a bomb, which the new iPhones likely will, you will be able to get in on the AI bandwagon with the current generation iPhone 15 Pros," the expert added. Also Read: Apple iPhone 16 and 16 Pro details leaked: All you need to know about specs, price, and bold design changes However, for those who can comfortably spend over a lakh on a phone, waiting for the iPhone 16 may be worthwhile due to the expected upgrades. The iPhone 16 lineup is rumored to include long-awaited Apple Intelligence features, though these may be delayed until October 2024. Additionally, the non-Pro models may feature the Action button previously reserved for the higher-end iPhone 15 versions. With iOS 18 introducing a more customizable Control Center and enhanced Lock Screen options, the utility of the Action button may diminish slightly as users will have greater flexibility in managing device settings and shortcuts through software. "Apple is also reportedly adding a dedicated camera control button on the right side of the iPhone 16 Pro models. This new feature will mimic the functionality of DSLR cameras, allowing users to lightly press to autofocus and press harder to capture the shot," the report revealed. The iPhone 16 Pro models are also expected to sport slightly larger displays, with the standard Pro model expanding from 6.1 inches to 6.3 inches and the Pro Max growing from 6.7 inches to nearly 6.9 inches. Under the hood, the iPhone 16 series is likely to be powered by the new A18 chip. All models in the series are expected to feature 8GB RAM to support the new Apple Intelligence suite, though details on camera and battery enhancements remain under wraps. Rumors suggest some improvements in these areas as well. While specific details about the camera and battery upgrades are not yet available, the iPhone 16 series promises a host of new features and enhancements aimed at improving user experience. With the September 9 launch date approaching, consumers are eagerly awaiting more official information about the new lineup. So to answer the question, whether to buy the current discounted iPhone models or wait for the iPhone 16 depends on individual needs, the current smartphone being used, and spending power. While attractive discounts and price cuts make current models enticing, the upcoming iPhone 16 series may offer significant advancements that could be worth the wait. With significant price reductions and offers available on current models, and the anticipated features of the iPhone 16 series, consumers have multiple options to consider. Stay tuned for the official launch and detailed announcements about the iPhone 16 series during Apple's "It's Glowtime" event on September 9.

The iPhone 16 is Finally Here
It's September, which means that Apple is already readying its latest hardware. At its latest hardware event, Apple announced new watches, but the announcements everyone cares the most are, of course, the iPhones. Apple just unveiled the iPhone 16 lineup, and the vanilla iPhone 16 is carrying a lot of changes compared to previous entries. Apple just launched the iPhone 16 and the iPhone 16 Plus, the latest non-Pro smartphones in the company's range. Upon first looking at it, you'll immediately be able to tell it apart from its many predecessors. Apple opted for a small design change here, making the camera bump notably smaller -- it looks pretty similar to what Apple did with the iPhone X and the iPhone XS back in 2017 and 2018. Most of us have grown accustomed to looking at Apple's square camera module, but Apple apparently thought it should be switched up. It's still present in the Pro series, since that has three cameras, but with this new design, they certainly look more like distinct product lines. That's not the only change we're getting here. The iPhone 16 comes with a new Ceramic Shield screen technology that's 50% tougher than the screen in previous iPhones, as well as a screen that goes as high as 2,000 nits of brightness or as low as 1 nit. There's a new, redesigned (and huge) Action button that can be programmable to your liking. You can map it to things such as shortcuts or specific actions. It can also be used as a powerful tool for taking photos -- you can use as a shutter, to change controls and modes, or to change depth of field/zoom/other features. The phone packs the 3nm six-core A18 processor, with two performance cores and four efficiency cores boosting performance by 30% from the A16 Bionic while also making it as efficient as possible. With this, the iPhone 16 is ending Apple's recent trend of using last year's Pro chip on the new lower-priced iPhones. There's also a new thermal design to dissipate heat better and improve sustained performance in gaming, and the GPU supports real-time ray tracing for games. Other specs include an improved main 48MP "Fusion" camera and a 12MP ultra-wide camera with autofocus, with the camera system being able to take things such as "spatial" movable photos. AI (or Apple Intelligence, I guess) is a big part of these phones' announcements. We already saw a big part of these AI features back at WWDC 2024 a few months ago. There are co-writing tools that you can use to rewrite messages, search tools to look across pictures and videos, or even small things such as priority notifications or summaries in emails. Apple is implementing AI in a way where it's not overly invasive, but still manages to provide cool, actually useful features that most people might actually use. We'll have to see how well it actually works, but Apple Intelligence features won't be available out of the box -- you'll have to wait for a software update. Apple wants to make sure that you're aware that its AI models are secure and private, with a new system called Private Cloud Compute -- your data is never shared with Apple, won't be used to train its models, and the company says that third-parties can fully verify that this is the case. Apple is also adding a new feature called Visual Intelligence. It works fairly similarly to Google Lens, where you can point your phone at something and it will search for what's in your screen -- it will search about a restaurant, an event, an animal you came across to, and more. It uses Google as its backend, so we're certain that it's just a glorified Google Lens shortcut. The iPhone 16 will be available for pre-order this Friday, September 13th, with general availability a week later on September 20th. The iPhone 16 will start at $799 for the 128GB version, while the iPhone 16 Plus will cost $899 for the Apple will give you up to $800 off the iPhone 16 with an eligible trade-in, so that's pretty cool if you're looking to save some money. Apple event: iPhone 16 Pro likely to retain iPhone 15 Pro's price point - Times of India
The D-day is here. Apple is all set to host its iPhone 16 launch event today at 10:30pm IST where it will take the wraps off its 2024 iPhone lineup among other key announcements. The iPhone 16 series like previous years will offer four phones - iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max. The rumour mill has been abuzz with leaks and speculations of the upcoming phones.Recently, a report suggested that the iPhone 16 Pro may ditch the 128GB storage model and could be offered in 256GB as base storage model, hinting at the price hike. The iPhone 15 Pro debuted at a starting price of $999 (US price) for the 128GB storage capacity. But now Bloomberg's Mark Gurman says that he 'don't expect the Pro entry price to be raised from $999' contradicting the previous report. Gurman said this in a post on X, formerly Twitter. Here's what he said I expect the touch sensitive camera button to be on all iPhone 16 models tomorrow. The slimmer bezels on the Pro line are noticeable, as are battery life improvements. I don't expect the Pro entry price to be raised from $999. Big focus will be on AI & A18 chip across the board. Meanwhile, the iPhone 16 launch event will begin at 10 am PT which means 10:30 pm as per Indian Standard Time (IST). The event will be hosted at Apple Cupertino Park in California. Those interested can watch the event live on Apple's website and the Apple TV app. The event will also be livestreamed on Apple's YouTube channel. Apple will also reveal the release dates of its latest software updates - iOS 18, iPadOS 18, tvOS 18, watchOS 11, visionOS 2, and macOS Sequoia at today's event. Apple's new iPhone 16 is here and it's more powerful than ever - Phandroid
At Apple's iPhone event today, the company announced its brand new iPhone 16 smartphones. If you're looking for a relatively more affordable iPhone, then maybe the new iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus models are for you. If you're concerned that they might not be as powerful as the Pro models, it seems that isn't something you'll have to worry about. Starting with the chipset, it seems that Apple has decided to give the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus an upgrade in the chipset department. The iPhone 15 and 15 Plus were powered by the A16 Bionic chipset. This chipset is found in 2022's iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max models. But for the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus, Apple decided to give them a true upgrade by equipping them with the A18 chipset. According to Apple, the new A18 chipset is built on a second-gen 3nm process. It has a 16-core neural engine that Apple claims is 2x faster when it comes to machine learning. It also boasts 17% more system bandwidth that can help power generative models quickly. The A18 has a 6-core CPU and according to Apple, it is 30% faster than the iPhone 15 and is also more energy efficient, consuming as much as 30% less power. Apple hasn't touched the display sizes of the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus. The base model features a 6.1-inch display, while the iPhone 16 Plus has a 6.7-inch display. That being said, Apple did bring some Pro features to the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus, like the Action Button. There is also a new Camera Control button that we'll cover in the next section. One of the newest features in the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus is the introduction of the Camera Control button. This is a new physical button with a sapphire cover that is also touch sensitive. On the surface it might seem like a shutter button, but it actually does so much more. It can be used to help access Apple Intelligence features. For example, you can use it to launch the camera app to scan a restaurant's logo and you can get information like opening hours, reviews, and more. You can also use it to identify objects and animals. If you think it sounds like Google Lens, it is essentially more or less the same conceptually. It can also be used to access various camera functions by pressing lightly, pressing twice, and so on. This will save users time from having to swipe and tap on the screen. Speaking of cameras, the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus feature a 12MP f/2.2 ultrawide camera and a 12MP f/1.6 telephoto camera. However, with some software tweaks, users can essentially get 48MP quality photos. Apple claims that each sensor has its own dedicated pipeline for image processing. The cameras can also be used to capture stereoscopic photos and videos, which can then be viewed on the Apple Vision Pro headset. Unsurprisingly, there is a lot of focus on AI during the iPhone announcement. We mentioned one of those features above, such as identifying restaurants, objects, and animals, just to name a few. Apple also revealed how Apple Intelligence will be powering Siri. The company claims that Siri will now be more natural sounding as a result. There is also another feature where users can actually type to Siri, similar to how Android users can chat with Google Gemini. Apple Intelligence will make using the new iPhones easier and more efficient to use. For example, emails and message notifications usually show the first couple of lines in a message. With Apple Intelligence, it will summarize the contents for you so that you don't have to open the email or message to get an idea of what it's about. One thing to note is that Apple Intelligence won't launch with the new iPhones. Apple says that the beta will launch next month, so we might have to wait a few months before we can access it fully. Despite the massive upgrades in the chipset department and the addition of new buttons, Apple has maintained the price of the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus. The base iPhone 16 is priced starting at $799, while the iPhone 16 Plus will retail for $899, the same price as their predecessors. They will be released on the 20th of September.

iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus Announced: What's New In This Year's Phones
Expertise 5G | Mobile networks | Wireless carriers | Phones | Tablets | Streaming devices | Streaming platforms | Mobile | Console gaming Apple's newest phones are official. As expected at its "Glowtime" event on Monday, the company took the wraps off of its latest iPhones, with the base models predictably called the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus. As expected, the new iPhones will have a redesigned rear camera bump that aligns the sensors vertically similar to how they appeared on the back of the iPhone X, XS, XR, 11 and 12 (the iPhone 13, 14 and 15 had rear cameras that were diagonally aligned). Vertically aligning the cameras should make them capable of recording spatial video for viewing on Apple's Vision Pro headset. More notably for those looking to improve their photo and video shooting, there is now a dedicated camera shutter "button" along the side of the device that Apple calls the "camera control." Apple has long pitched that the iPhone was on par with DSLRs and a dedicated shutter may make it even easier to capture moments and memories. The iPhone 16 and 16 Plus are also gaining an "Action" button similar to what was added to the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max last year. This button lets you set shortcuts to open specific apps or tasks (like setting the phone to "Do Not Disturb," opening the flashlight or setting a direct coffee order from Dunkin'). Displays for the new phones will be similar to 2024's iPhone 15 and 15 Plus: 6.1 inches on the smaller model, 6.7 inches on the larger Plus. All iPhone 16 models will run iOS 18 on the new A18 processor that is capable of tapping into the company's new Apple Intelligence AI features. From a color perspective, the new base iPhone 16 and 16 Plus will come in white, black, "ultramarine" (blue), "teal" (green) and pink.

This chipset has been beefed up, which makes it perfect for the AI Apple Intelligence features coming in iOS 18.
