Gemini Ultra may be on the way as part of a new Google One AI plan
As per TestingCatalog, recently discovered code strings in the web version of Gemini suggest that Google may give users access to "Gemini Pro" and "Gemini Ultra" with these upcoming plans. While we don't have all the details on what users will get with these versions of Gemini, a few strings of code indicate that the higher subscription tier, i.e., Gemini Ultra, may offer increased or unlimited access to certain features. By staggering Gemini features and usage limits across multiple tiers, Google likely aims to cater to a broader audience and increase its subscription revenue. With Gemini Ultra, it will likely target pro users and offer them all the advanced AI capabilities and extended usage limits at a premium price. The other tiers may offer fewer features, a shorter context window, or a limited daily quota and cater to casual users at more affordable prices.

Google Gemini might soon offer two new AI subscription plans
The latest experiment from Google Labs uses Gemini to help teach you a new language Summary Google's Gemini is set to fully replace Google Assistant on all platforms by the end of 2025, leveraging its advanced AI capabilities for a wide range of tasks. While many Gemini features are free, the current paid Gemini Advanced tier offers enhanced benefits like access to advanced models, larger context windows, and extended usage limits. Evidence from code suggests Google is developing two new, potentially higher-tier AI subscription plans, possibly named "Premium Plus" and "Premium Pro," which could offer access to "Gemini Pro" and "Gemini Ultra" with increased or unlimited feature usage. In a little over two years, Google's Gemini, which started out as Bard, has become the tech giant's go-to AI and assistant tool. From offering answers to simple queries and helping you brainstorm to interacting with other apps and services and generating code and images, the AI tool is what Google Assistant could never really be. That's precisely why Google has decided to completely phase out Google Assistant on all surfaces by the end of 2025. Related Like it or not, Gemini is officially replacing Google Assistant this year On all surfaces Posts 7 Although most Gemini features are free for users to use, new introductions are often limited to those who pay for Gemini Advanced -- at least during the new feature's initial launch window. Additionally, the paid subscription also offers extended limits across the board, including on some of Gemini's latest models (like the Gemini 2.5 Pro), bigger file uploads, larger context windows, extra 'Deep Research' uses, and more. Currently, Gemini Advanced is a value proposition for those who gain access to it for free with their new smartphone, or for power users that utilize Gemini for their everyday work-related needs. Now, likely in a bid to offer those power users more options to choose from, Google appears to be expanding its AI subscription offerings with two new plans, and they could be called 'Premium Plus' and 'Premium Pro.' More features than Advanced? Or less features than One AI Premium? The new plans could reportedly unlock access to 'Gemini Pro' and 'Gemini Ultra,' as highlighted in a report by TestingCatalog (via Android Authority) after digging into code snippets. While it's not entirely clear what the plans and access to the Pro and Ultra Gemini versions could entail, code suggests that it these models could be upsold to Gemini users when they reach specific limits. "You've reached your limit of generated videos. Try again [after X days] or upgrade to Gemini Ultra," reads one instance. Whether the new tiers would offer higher limits than those currently offered to Advanced users is also uncertain. It could also be that the new tiers forgo other Google One benefits like extra storage and Workspace Premium features in favor of just expanded Gemini access, potentially coming in at a cheaper price than the current $20 users pay for Gemini Advanced. The new plans seem to be a work in progress, though Gemini Ultra, at least, is reportedly already making its way to some users as an upsell prompt. Google is yet to formally detail the announcement, though its upcoming I/O or Android Show could be potential venues for the unveiling. Gemini App Could Become More Personalised, Bring New Subscription Tier
Google's Gemini app will get new personalisation features to make users' experience more immersive. A company executive revealed that the company is working to upgrade the chatbot app with enhanced memory and the ability to draw upon information from users' Google accounts. The AI app might also get new agentic capabilities similar to the Deep Research tool. These features will be unveiled at Google I/O 2025, the executive added. The tech giant is also reportedly planning to introduce a new subscription tier for the chatbot dubbed Gemini Ultra. In a post on X (formerly known as Twitter), Josh Woodward, VP of Google Labs and Gemini, detailed several new features for the Gemini app that will be unveiled at the upcoming Google I/O. Woodward added that the new features are part of Google's "personal, proactive, and powerful" strategy. To make Gemini more personalised to users, it will soon be able to remember past conversations. That means users will not have to start each new session from scratch and repeat the prompts or information. OpenAI recently released a similar feature for ChatGPT. However, the tech giant plans to extend this personalisation further. Woodward said that soon, Gemini will also be able to draw upon users' activity in other Google apps such as Gmail, Photos, Calendar, Search, YouTube, and more. All of this information will be consolidated via the user's Google account, but only when the user provides permission. The company is internally calling the feature "pcontext" or personalised context. Based on this context, Gemini will also be able to suggest insights and actions, without the user having to ask about it. Woodward said this will make the AI chatbot more proactive for users. Finally, the executive also hinted that the AI app might also come fitted with more agentic capabilities that can "turn ideas into action." Meanwhile, a TestingCatalog report claimed that the Mountain View-based tech giant might also introduce a new subscription tier for the chatbot, dubbed Gemini Ultra. The publication discovered evidence of this new plan in the strings of code of the web version of Gemini. Gemini Ultra will reportedly be a higher consumption tier, offering increased rate limits on specific capabilities such as code and image generation. The tier is also speculated to include agentic features of Gemini. If true, Google could introduce this plan at its event as well.
