Google gets ahead of the leaks and reveals the Pixel 10 early
Google has an event next month to officially launch the Pixel 10 series, but the leaks have been coming fast and furious beforehand. There won't be much left to learn on August 20, particularly now that Google has revealed the phone. Over on the Google Store, there's a video revealing the Pixel 10's design, and it looks just a little familiar. The video (which you can also see below) isn't very long, but it offers an unobscured look at the phone's physical design. The 13-second clip opens with the numeral "10" emerging from the shadows. The zero elongates and morphs into the trademark camera window on the back of the phone. The video zooms out to reveal the full phone from the back. The device is a muted blue-gray, which is probably the "frost" color listed in recent leaks. The video is not accompanied by specs, pricing, or any other details; however, Google's new Tensor G5 processor is expected to be a marked improvement over past iterations. While the first four Tensor chips were manufactured in Samsung fabs, Tensor G5 is from TSMC. The dominant Taiwanese chip maker touts better semiconductor packaging technology, and the chip itself is believed to have more custom components that further separate it from the Samsung Exynos lineage. There was certainly nothing wrong with the Pixel 9 design -- its simple silhouette and polished construction should be good for another year at least. It's unclear if Google has managed to keep the buttons and proportions consistent, which would allow you to reuse accessories from the Pixel 9. That and other details will have to wait for the full unveiling on August 20. If we assume this is the base model Pixel 10, there is one notable change. The Pixel 9 had just two cameras, saving the triple-camera setup for the more expensive Pro phones. As rumors suggested, the Pixel 10 has a wider glass window to accommodate a new telephoto camera. However, those reports also say the phone will step down to less capable sensors similar to the ones in the Pixel 9a. Two steps forward, one step back. The Made By Google 2025 keynote begins at 1 pm ET on August 20. In addition to the new phones, we expect to see the more repairable Pixel Watch 4 and a whole heap of AI (as is customary these days).

Google Teases Pixel 10 Ahead of August Reveal
Google has lifted the curtains on the Pixel 10, its flagship phone for 2025, via a short clip posted on the Google Store homepage on Monday. The Pixel 10 will likely be fully revealed at a Made by Google event in New York on Aug. 20. The teaser video comes after a series of leaks about the device have hit the internet over the last few months, including the phone being spotted during a commercial shoot on the streets of Vancouver back in May. Current Pixel 10 rumors point to a very similar design to last year's handset, with some strong internal upgrades. Notably, the Tensor 5 chip will be made by TSMC on a 3nm process, according to an Android Authority report from March. Previous Tensor chips were made by Samsung. The screen on the Pixel 10 Pro Fold will see a boost from 2,700 nits to 3,000, according to another Android Authority report. It'll also get a battery bump to 5,015 mAh, a 7% increase from last year's foldable. As for cameras, the Pixel 10 will reportedly get the 50-megapixel Samsung GN8 wide-angle lens, an 11MP 3J1 telephoto lens (the 3J1 will also be used for the selfie camera) and Sony's 13-megapixel IMX712 ultrawide lens. The Pixel 10 Pro Fold likely won't have the same high-end camera array, as foldable phones have less room to work with. The Pixel 10 will almost certainly be powered by Android 16 and will have a slew of AI features. Google didn't immediately respond to a request for further comment. While Google's hardware business is a small part of the company's overall revenue, the Pixel line does serve an important role in signaling to other hardware partners where the company sees the future of its Android mobile operating system. Pixel phones, which seldom focus on raw power, deliver clean user interfaces with strong computational photography. The well-reviewed Pixel portfolio does put Google in a somewhat awkward position with hardware partners that decided to make Android devices rather than go off and make their own operating systems. With Google's own phones, the tech giant is directly competing with Samsung, OnePlus, Motorola and others. While Samsung is the second largest handset maker worldwide (behind Apple), according to Statcounter, Google has been eating away at market share in certain markets. With the release of the Pixel 9 last year, Google made strong inroads in North American markets.

What to expect at the Google Pixel 10 launch event on August 20
After largely focusing Google I/O 2025 on the ways the company wants Gemini to change everything from searching the web to filmmaking, Google is finally ready to launch new hardware. The next Made by Google event is on the books for August 20, and Google has already confirmed what at least one of its new Pixel 10 phones will look like. As in past years, Google isn't the only source for information on its new phones and wearables. Nearly all the new hardware the company is expected to announce has leaked in one form or another ahead of the event. With that in mind and after sifting through what's leaked, here's what Google is likely to show off at the Pixel 10 launch event in New York City on August 20. Google's invitation for the event says that the company is sharing "the latest on our Pixel phones, watches, buds and more," which more or less confirms the company will introduce a slate of products that's similar to what it launched in 2024. That means a Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL and Pixel 10 Pro Fold are absolutely on the menu. Google's tease of the Pixel 10 confirmed what have already signaled: the company isn't abandoning the new design language the established. The pill-shaped camera bump and flat front display will still be present on the Pixel 10, and the real changes will be in the details, like for example, how the flat sides of the Pixel 10 join with the phone's back. Those subtle changes will apparently also include the thickness of the Pixel 10s. While both the Pixel 10, 10 Pro, 10 Pro XL and 10 Pro Fold will use the same sized OLED screens as their Pixel 9 counterparts, they'll be housed in thicker and heavier bodies, . Google's new Pixels are also supposed to come in . The Pixel 10 will come in "Frost" (a royal blue), "Lemongrass" (a yellow), "Indigo" (a light purple) and "Obsidian" (a dark gray), while the Pixel 10 Pro / Pro XL will come in Obsidian, "Porcelain" (off-white), "Moonstone" (a bluish gray) and "Jade" (a light green). Less information is known about the Pixel 10 Pro Fold, though recent leaks suggest it'll come in Moonstone and Jade, as well. The most visible external change that'll be introduced on the Pixel 10 is the addition of a new telephoto camera. The new telephoto camera is a 11-megapixel 5x telephoto, , similar to the one on the Pixel 9 Pro Fold. Meanwhile, the Pixel 10 Pro and 10 Pro XL are expected to feature a 50-megapixel wide, 48-megapixel ultrawide, 48-megapixel telephoto and 48-megapixel selfie cameras. The Pixel 10 Pro Fold could feature a different lineup, with a similar main camera, but 12-megapixel ultrawide and telephoto cameras, and 11-megapixel selfie cameras. Inside the new phones, Google is laying the groundwork for future performance gains with a new Tensor G5 chip. It's likely be much more power-efficient thanks to the company switching to a 3nm design produced by TSMC. the chip might not be all that different in terms of raw power, but the Tensor G5 is likely designed to be extra capable when it comes to using local AI features. The third time was the charm for the , so the main task Google has with the Pixel Watch 4 is to not squander the solid base it already has. Leaks for the company's have been limited so far, but renders of the Pixel Watch 4 shared by do suggest Google has a few changes planned. Namely, much like the company's phones, the new Pixel Watch seems like it'll be a little bit thicker and come with smaller bezels. The Pixel Watch 4 should be available to purchase in the same 41mm and 45mm sizes as before, but a thicker frame that could accommodate a larger battery, or a new wireless charging system. Notably, the renders are missing the charging pins used on the Pixel Watch 3. Beyond that, Google has already indicated how Wear OS is evolving. The new Wear OS 6 update is debuting on the , and will presumably be available on the Pixel Watch 4 at launch. It includes built-in access to Gemini, among other tweaks. Given Google also manages the Fitbit Premium subscription, it wouldn't be all that surprising if the Pixel Watch 4 gets some exclusive fitness tracking features, too. Google launched the Pixel Buds Pro 2 last year, and it typically doesn't update its premium earbuds on a yearly cadence. So instead, Google might pair the Pixel 10 with the Pixel Buds Pro 2 in a new color, and save its new hardware announcements for a sequel to the Pixel Buds A-series called the Pixel Buds 2a. Unlike the company's premium wireless earbuds, the A-series Pixel Buds have historically skimped on things like active noise cancellation to hit a lower price. There's little reporting on where Google will take the Pixel Buds 2a, but you can expect the new earbuds to come in some of the new colors being introduced on the Pixel 10. The Qi2 wireless charging standard is available for all phone makers to use, but it hasn't been widely adopted among Android phone makers. Qi2 uses magnets to offer improved charging speeds, just like Apple's MagSafe, and the Pixel 10 could mark Google's adoption of Qi2 through a new feature called suggests the Pixel 10 will include the necessary magnets to make Qi2 happen, and will be introduced alongside a lineup of Pixelsnap accessories. Adding some weight to the report, the that its faster Qi2 25W charging is coming to "major Android phones." It would make sense if Google's Pixel 10s were included. Gemini is Google's current favorite, and the company is pushing the AI assistant everywhere it makes sense. The last few Pixel Drops -- Google's regular Pixel-focused software updates -- have primarily included Gemini features. It would make sense for Google to include a few more software exclusives on the Pixel 10. Google is hosting the Pixel 10 launch event on August 20 at 1PM ET / 10AM ET. The company has invited press to attend in person, and you can read coverage of everything Google announces right here on Engadget.

Google Says 'Screw It' and Shows Us the Whole Pixel 10
There are a lot of ways to deal with gadget leaks. If you're Apple, maybe a lawsuit is your style, but not everyone is as litigious, and that's okay. Take Google, for example, which responded to Pixel 10 leaks by... just showing us the whole-ass phone. Here's Google's next mobile device in all of its glory, folks: The official image, which is live on Google's own site, seems to confirm leaks that show a third camera on the back of the device, which some have speculated is a telephoto camera. There's not much official information outside the short video posted to Google's site, but it's certainly a power move ahead of the phone's expected official launch date of August 20. As we noted last week, Google also often uses its events to announce other products like the Pixel Watch 3, which was unveiled at last year's summer event, or the Pixel Buds 2 Pro wireless earbuds before that. There's a chance that the Pixel Watch 4 or more wireless earbuds will make an appearance later next month as well. And as for the sudden Pixel 10 reveal, the move is surprising, to be sure, but not altogether unprecedented. Google pulled the same thing with the Pixel 9 Pro last year, taking off the wraps just a few weeks before the phone was set to unveil officially. It's hard to say what the Pixel 10 has in store, but as Gizmodo's Consumer Tech Editor Ray Wong noted previously, there will likely be a lotร more AI. Google used its I/O developer conference in May to unveil seemingly endless updates to Gemini that may find their way into Pixel devices in some way, shape, or form. For more answers on that, we'll have to wait a few more weeks, I guess. That is, unless Google decides to just up and spoil that surprise, too.

Google to Unveil New Pixel 10 Smartphones on August 20
Google plans to unveil its latest Pixel smartphones at an event that will take place on Wednesday, August 20. Google's new devices will be introduced just a few weeks before we're expecting Apple to unveil its latest iPhone models. Google's lineup is expected to feature the company's latest foldable smartphone, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold. There will also be a Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, and Pixel 10 Pro XL, for a four-device smartphone lineup. Rumors suggest that the Pixel 10 Pro Fold won't be as thin and light as Samsung's latest Galaxy Z Fold7, but Google might be first to improved weatherproofing for a foldable smartphone. The Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold could have an IP68 water and dust resistance rating, which would make it superior to the Z Fold7's IP48 water and dust resistance. Few other changes are expected, but the display will increase in size a bit, and it might be a little brighter. Google is also going to add a bigger battery for some modest battery life improvements. The new Google foldable will have a faster 3-nanometer Tensor G5 chip, as will the rest of the Pixel 10 smartphones that are in development. The G5 will be manufactured by TSMC instead of Samsung, which should bring notable improvements over last year's G4. The Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, and Pixel 10 Pro XL aren't going to see major design or size changes, and they'll be similar to last year's Pixel lineup. Google is also expected to unveil new AI features, specifically AI photo editing options. Google's Pixel 10 devices will compete with Apple's iPhone 17 models, though Apple won't have a foldable device until next year at the earliest.

Google Pixelโฏ10 Teaser Revealed on U.S. Store Ahead of August 20 Launch
Google's upcoming Pixelโฏ10 has started making a quiet entrance online, even before the official launch event slated for Augustโฏ20,โฏ2025. If you've visited the U.S. Google Store lately, you might have spotted a new teaser image hinting at what the next flagship will look like. It's a familiar silhouette in a fresh grayโblue finish, and that oval camera island front and center feels like dรฉjร โฏvu if you've handled a Pixelโฏ9. It's an early sign that Google's sticking to the design script, at least externally, but fans are already dissecting every detail. The teaser doesn't dive into specs -- it's just a single render, really -- but it does confirm a few things you probably guessed. The power button and volume controls are right where they've always been, so there's zero curveball on ergonomics. The camera module retains that pillโshaped housing for lenses and sensors, hinting the Pixelโฏ10 will likely carry forward Google's computational photography approach without a complete hardware overhaul. If you're betting on incremental improvements -- faster Tensor chip, maybe a brighter display or slightly larger battery -- that's the trend Google's set for this year. Interestingly, the teaser has only shown up on the U.S. version of the Google Store. Other regions, like the Netherlands, haven't received the update. Companies sometimes roll out these previews in select markets to build buzz where they expect high sales volumes. It's a subtle nod to the U.S. being a primary market for Pixel devices. Word is the Pixelโฏ10 lineup will stick to the same U.S. pricing as last year's Pixelโฏ9 models. For context, the base Pixelโฏ9 launched at $799, the Pixelโฏ9 Pro started at $999, and the larger ProโฏXL was $1,099. Keeping those price points stable likely means Google is aiming to maintain its competitive edge against other Android flagships and Apple's iPhone series. In practice, you'll see the Pixelโฏ10 base at $799, Pixelโฏ10 Pro at $999, and Pixelโฏ10 Pro XL at $1,099 -- no surprises, no premium bump. If you've been holding off on upgrading, that familiar price tag might make the decision a bit easier. From a design perspective, Google isn't reinventing the wheel. The Pixelโฏ10 teaser shows a body that's almost indistinguishable from the Pixelโฏ9 at first glance. That's not necessarily a criticism; the Pixelโฏ9's build felt solid and ergonomic, and the camera bar was a breakout visual element. Expect Google to reserve any major redesign for the interior: upgraded Tensor processor, better thermal management, and maybe a slightly tweaked display tech -- potentially a higher refresh rate or new powerโsaving features on OLED. Colorways are always a talking point, and the grayโblue shade on the teaser could be one of multiple finishes. Google has historically offered a palette that balances muted tones with occasional pops of color. I wouldn't be surprised if we see at least three official shades at launch: the teased grayโblue, a matte black or dark gray, and perhaps a more vibrant accent option. Beyond the look and price, there are a few critical questions the teaser doesn't answer. Battery capacity and charging speeds remain unconfirmed. Google could push beyond the 30โฏW wired and 23โฏW wireless charging of the Pixelโฏ9 Pro, but we'll need official specs to know for sure. Likewise, camera sensor upgrades -- higher megapixel counts, improved telephoto reach, new ultraโwide detail -- will be a big part of the conversation once Google shares numbers. Software-wise, a Pixelโฏ10 launch means the new build of Android (likely Androidโฏ16 or 17) will debut with Google's exclusive AI features. Google's been weaving AI deeper into the user interface -- Magic Eraser, Live Translate, call screening enhancements. Expect the next iteration of Geminiโpowered features to be highlighted at the August event, potentially with new photoโediting tricks or productivity tools baked into the core system. Google will host its Pixelโฏ10 announcement on Augustโฏ20,โฏ2025. The livestream should provide full spec sheets, camera performance demos, and pricing breakdowns for all configurations. If history repeats, preorders will open immediately after the presentation, and you'll likely see carrier partners and retailers offer tradeโin deals within days.

As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases. TweakTown may also earn commissions from other affiliate partners at no extra cost to you. Google has just announced its upcoming Made by Google 2025 event, which takes place on August 20. We should be introduced to the new Pixel 10 family of smartphones, next-gen Tensor G5 processor, and more. Normally, we have Apple hosting its iPhone unveiling event in September and Google unveiling its new Pixel smartphones in October, but the US search giant is leaping Apple this year with its Made by Google event in August, getting ahead of the new iPhone 17 family announcement. Google is also moving its event from Mountain View to New York City, where hand-picked media will be invited to the event, where we'll see the introduction of the new Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL, and Pixel 10 Pro Fold smartphones unveiled. It won't just be smartphones, but their new Tensor G5 processor for the Pixel 10 family, and the new Pixel Watch 4 wearable. The upcoming Made by Google 2025 event will begin at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET, with a livestream of the event hosted on YouTube so that people can tune in to the event from anywhere on the planet. Google has officially teased the "Pixel phones, watches, buds, and more". We should expect Google to not just unveil its new Pixel 10 family of smartphones, the new Pixel Watch 4, and its new in-house Tensor G5 processor, but some other products and announcements that I'm sure are heavily involved in AI. The upcoming Tensor G5 processor recently switched production from Samsung to TSMC causing some tensions between the semiconductor giants, and will compete against Apple's upcoming in-house A19 Pro chip, and Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 8 Elite chips.
