Google TV could soon let you generate and watch your own videos
Sparkify is also available as an experimental feature for other devices. Gemini recently made its big screen debut with its launch on Google TV. Although it's currently limited to a small set of smart TVs, alongside the Google TV streamer, Gemini has been promised to be rolled out to a broader set of Google TV models later in the year. While gearing up for the launch, Google is seemingly testing some AI-powered features to improve your video-watching experience. Earlier today, we learned about Google's plan to nudge users to check if they have fallen asleep while watching TV. In addition to those changes, we're witnessing additional instances in the code for the Android TV app on sets running the Google TV interface. Of all the features mentioned above, we recognize "Sparkify," an experimental AI feature that generates animated videos using Gemini and Veo. When it was announced at Google I/O 2025, it was marketed as a way to create videos in response to questions and is targeted at kids to enhance their learning using visual aids. However, there's absolutely no stopping if adults want to watch videos on topics that may not interest kids. The other terms and phrases appear to be associated with Sparkify itself. These aspects should likely aid in refining video results to help kids gain a better understanding. Since both Gemini for Google TV and Sparify are available to a limited set of users, we can't say when they could be widely available. We will update you when we learn more about the feature.

Google TV wants to take your video-watching experience to the next level with a bunch of AI features
Like all its major competitors, Google is incorporating AI into pretty much all its apps and services. And one of the company's recent AI efforts in the consumer space is Gemini for Android TV. Although Gemini hasn't landed on the majority of Google TV devices, we now have some idea about what new features it might offer when it's available to more devices. Earlier today, we reported that Google is working on a feature that will check if you're still watching a channel on Google TV. This sounds very similar to what Netflix's "Are you still watching?" prompt does, though details are scarce at the moment. On top of this, Google is working on another set of features that are powered by AI and have a completely different purpose. Google TV will let you generate and watch videos In an APK teardown of the Google TV app, folks over at Android Authority have spotted mentions of as many as five new features, including Sparkify, Scene Style, Visual Style, Describe your idea, and Generate Video. While a few of these are self-explanatory in what they want to do, Sparkify is something that the company talked about at this year's Google I/O event. Based on what we already know from Google, Sparkify is an upcoming feature that will let you create videos on topics that you're interested in. All you have to do is enter the topic and choose a visual style and mood, and Sparkify will create and play the video. There is no clarity about whether the other four features are related to Sparkify, but the visual style capability is likely associated with it. It's an educated guess because Google's previous demo video of Sparkify showed how users can choose the visual style before generating the video. However, the remaining names also sound like they are designed to let users add more details, including scene style, to generate the video. Google officially confirmed that more Gemini capabilities are "coming soon" to Google TV, but it never mentioned what features it's planning to introduce. But since evidence of these AI features has surfaced, we can safely say that the company is seriously considering adding them to Google TV in the future. Since Gemini for Google TV will become broadly available later this year, we expect the features to arrive around the same time.

Google TV to get AI-based interactive features for enhanced learning and power efficiency
No details yet on rollout timing or which devices will support these AI features. Google TV app teardown has revealed some upcoming AI features, including AI-based video creation tools powered by Gemini and Veo generative video model, and an inactivity prompt that could pause playback if the viewer is inactive. Folks over at Android Authority have spotted these features, and while they may be experimental at this point, the leaks suggest Google is preparing to layer generative intelligence more deeply into its smart TV ecosystem. Let's see how these features could work based on initial findings. In the Google TV app, a feature called 'Sparkify' is mentioned. This is a current experimental app that was first announced at Google I/O 2025, and it lets users create short videos through prompts. The string of codes from the Google TV app mentions words like 'Scene Style', 'Visual Style', 'Describe your idea' and 'Generate Video'. In Sparkify's official announcement video, we can see the user can enter the text prompt in a box called Topic, then choose the Visual Style, Mood, and tap on the Generate button. There will be a token limit on how many times you can use it in a time frame. If Sparkify works as expected, it allows users, especially younger audiences, to generate explanatory or animated videos on topics they ask. It shifts Google TV from a passive content delivery device to a more interactive, creative platform. Also Read: Acer Ultra QLED TV series with Google TV, 40W speakers teased to launch soon on Amazon India In the version 1.0.815784074-735113 of the Google TV Home app, teardown analysts found string hints like 'Are you still watching?', 'Keep watching', 'Just checking in' and 'This channel will stop playing because you haven't used the remote in a while.' The usage is self-explanatory. Google TV may alert users if they haven't interacted with the remote, and it may stop playing the content after a timeout. These pop-ups could be from the system level and help reduce wasted power and inadvertent bingeing. The move to include creative AI tools on TV may be part of Google's broader push to unify AI across all its platforms and touchpoints. But the company often A/B tests features, and we can't say for certain when these will be available and whether they will come in a broader rollout. But if they arrive, Sparkify could open fun, personalised content creation directly from the TV that could enhance learning and even entertainment. There may be some privacy, copyright and offensive content concerns that Google will have to address. And as for the inactivity prompt, it seems like a practical add-on that many will appreciate. We will keep you posted when these features will hit TVs in India. Keep reading Digit.in for such stories.
