Honor confirms the date for its next flagship smartphone - Phandroid
If you're looking for a new smartphone, Honor makes some pretty great ones. In fact, the company has confirmed that they are launching a new flagship series in the form of the Honor Magic 7. The phone is expected to be announced on the 30th of October in an event held in China. This is according to Honor's CEO, George Zhao, who shared the news on Weibo. Details of the phone are scarce at the moment, but based on the announcement poster, it seems that it will come with a bunch of AI features as part which is also expected to be part of the Magic OS 9.0 update. In terms of hardware, it is speculated that the Honor Magic 7 series will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite or Snapdragon 8 Gen 4. If it is the latter, it will join OnePlus as one of the first few phones in 2024 to take advantage of Qualcomm's latest chipset. As for its international availability, that remains to be seen. Chances are since the event is taking place in China, the Magic 7 series will be exclusive to the region for a period of time. Hopefully Honor will announce international availability at a later date, but we'll have to wait and see. HONOR today confirmed the launch of HONOR MagicOS 9.0, the next major software update for the HONOR devices, on October 23rd at an event in China. The teaser has the tag line 'Witness the magic of AI' highlighting the AI features of the MagicOS. To remind you, both the MagicOS 8.0 and HONOR Magic6 series phones were introduced earlier this year, on January 11th, so this time we are getting them early. At the IFA last month, the company showed off, the HONOR AI Agent personal assistant that streamlines daily tasks. It uses language analysis and UI awareness to understand user requests, learning from habits and device environments to automate complex tasks. The company already confirmed that the AI Agent will debut with the HONOR Magic7 Series, promising deeper AI integration into daily routines. Based on earlier reports, the HONOR Magic7 Pro will retain the centre capsule on the front featuring dual cameras, feature equal-depth quad-curved screen, right-angled metal middle frame, red power button, and should be powered by Snapdragon 8 Elite, which will be introduced next week.
