Microsoft offers to beef up Karnataka's single-window system with Gen AI tools for ease of doing business

This would further strengthen Karnataka's position as one of India's most AI-driven states.Software giant Microsoft has offered to dovetail its Generative AI tools into Karnataka's single-window system (SWS) on industrial investments to take the ease of doing business (EoDB) to the next level. A Microsoft team led by Puneet Chandok, President India & South Asia, held detailed discussions about this with Industries & Infrastructure Minister MB Patil, Principal Secretary at the Industries department S Selvakumar and Industries Commissioner Gunjan Krishna on Tuesday. The Generative AI tools, the team was briefed, would speed up processes, facilitating faster progress on project execution. Microsoft had offered to bring in solution experts to explore how AI can be integrated into investor support processes within the Department of Commerce & Industries, the minister said. This would further strengthen Karnataka's position as one of India's most AI-driven states. The software giant also offered to sign up with Karnataka to enhance skills in Generative AI for the staff at the industries department. The discussions also included Microsoft's participation in the upcoming Global Investor Meet, with a focus on collaboration with Invest Karnataka to showcase Microsoft's innovations during the event, scheduled for three days from February 12. Microsoft delegation included Irina Ghose, Managing Director, Microsoft India; Sheenu Sehkhri, Strategy Head and Chief of Staff, Microsoft India & South Asia; Anish Chandy, Senior Director; Sandeep Mahapatra, Senior Account Manager - Industry Solutions; and Sreekant Kurup, Account Lead - Technology Strategist.

Microsoft may sign MoU with Karnataka for skilling in Gen AI: M.B. Patil

Tech major Microsoft has plans to sign a memorandum of understanding with the Karnataka government to enhance skills in Generative AI and other emerging technologies, said Large and Medium Industries Minister M.B. Patil on Tuesday. The announcement followed a meeting between the Minister and a Microsoft delegation led by Mr. Puneet Chandok, President of Microsoft India & South Asia, who discussed the company's upcoming initiatives. To establish Karnataka as one of India's most AI-driven States, Microsoft intends to bring in solution experts to explore how AI can be integrated into investor support processes within the Department of Commerce & Industries, the Minister said. According to the Minister, discussions also included Microsoft's participation in the upcoming Global Investor Meet, with a focus on collaboration with Invest Karnataka to showcase Microsoft's innovations during the event, scheduled between February 12 and 14, 2025. Microsoft also has plans to have senior leaders attend the meet and present their latest technologies, Mr. Patil added. Read Comments
