Samsung's third One UI 8 beta includes a new birthday card creator in Now Brief
In addition to today's One UI 8 Watch beta release, Samsung's keeping the train rolling with a third beta release for One UI 8, complete with a new trick for Now Brief. After kicking off in May, today marks the third One UI 8 beta release for the Galaxy S25 series. We're getting down to the wire, as Samsung's set to debut final builds for its Android 16-based upgrade at Unpacked next week. Today's patch isn't quite as expansive as Beta 2, but it does come with a handful of bug fixes (via SamMobile). Here's the changelog: SamMobile also spotted a new feature within Now Brief, Samsung's marquee Galaxy AI feature first launched earlier this year. The company's continuing to try and build out its Google Now-esque information feed, and with One UI 8 Beta 3, Now Brief now includes support for birthday alerts. Whenever One UI spots a birthday in your calendar, it'll prompt you to create an AI-generated card that you can send to your associated contact. Samsung gives you a handful of typical art options to pick from, including watercolor, sketch, and 3D cartoons. You can use gen-AI prompts to design the card of your choosing, though it also appears that you can add a photo from your own gallery. It's far from the addition that will take Now Brief from "the oatmeal of AI features" to a vital part of One UI, but it's good evidence that Samsung is still working on improving its AI-powered feed months after launch. One UI 8 will first release on Samsung's upcoming lineup of foldables, due for an official unveiling at Unpacked in New York on July 9th, before expanding to older devices over the coming weeks and months. If you're enrolled in this current beta period, your Galaxy S25 should see this 1.2GB patch shortly. It's already rolled out to users in South Korea and across various European markets. Samsung has reservations open now for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7, with a $50 credit when you pre-order and up to $1,150+ in savings. Reservations are free, and there's no obligation to actually buy a device if you sign up, but there's no other time you can get that $50 credit (which can go towards Galaxy Watch 8), 3x reward points, and other perks.
