Centre Location and Objectives

The new facility will be situated within TCS Asia Pacific's office at Changi Business Park 1. Its primary objective is to serve as a collaborative hub where TCS's customers and partners, including up to 50 SMEs and 10 startups over the next 12 months, can work alongside experts to co-develop, prototype, and scale AI solutions for real-world business challenges 2.

Bridging the Technology Gap for SMEs

Punit Agarwal, TCS Singapore country head, highlighted the significance of this initiative in addressing a crucial need in the market. He stated, "SMEs may not be as tech-savvy as larger corporations, but our consultants can guide them in understanding their data, learning how to use AI, and assessing their existing tech stack to identify what needs to be modernised" 1. This approach aims to bridge the gap in access to high-level technology consulting expertise that SMEs often face.

Collaboration and Networking Opportunities

The innovation centre is designed to serve multiple purposes beyond just AI development. It will act as a platform for fintech companies and startups to showcase their products and join TCS' Co-Innovation Network, connecting innovative technology firms with TCS' global corporate customers 1. This initiative is expected to drive cross-sector innovation and collaboration by connecting businesses, startups, academia, and government agencies 2.

TCS's Presence in Singapore

TCS has maintained a strong presence in Singapore since establishing its operations in 1985. Currently, the company employs 6,600 people in the city-state 2. As a global IT services, consulting, and business solutions provider, TCS operates in 55 countries worldwide, bringing its extensive experience and expertise to this new venture in Singapore 2.

Leveraging Partnerships for Innovation
