Tenable launches AI Exposure to address enterprise generative AI risk - SiliconANGLE
Tenable launches AI Exposure to address enterprise generative AI risk Network security company Tenable Holdings Inc. today announced an expansion of its Tenable One platform with the launch of AI Exposure, a new solution to see, manage and control the risk introduced by generative artificial intelligence. Unveiled at the Black Hat USA 2025 conference, the new capabilities provide an end-to-end approach that Tenable says moves beyond discovery to include risk management and policy enforcement for enterprise AI tools such as ChatGPT Enterprise and Microsoft Copilot. The new release seeks to assist with the growing issue whereby as businesses adopt generative AI to boost productivity, they are also creating new, complex and often invisible frontiers of exposure. Tenable argues that security teams lack visibility into how employees use generative AI tools, which sensitive data might be exposed and how they could be manipulated by attackers. Tenable AI Exposure addresses the security risks and visibility issues through a single, unified solution that addresses the entire lifecycle of AI security challenges. "Simply discovering shadow AI isn't enough. A true exposure management strategy requires an end-to-end solution that lets organizations discover their entire AI footprint, manage the associated risks and govern its use according to their policies," said Steve Vintz, co-chief executive officer and chief financial officer of Tenable. "With Tenable AI Exposure, we're giving organizations the visibility and control they need to safely embrace the promise of generative AI without introducing unacceptable risk." AI Exposure capabilities include comprehensive AI discovery that combines insights from Tenable AI Aware, AI Security Posture Management and continuous monitoring. Organizations can detect both sanctioned and unsanctioned AI tool usage across their environments, including deep visibility into user interactions, data flows and potentially risky activities that could lead to security vulnerabilities. The new offering includes AI exposure management and prioritization tools that help security teams assess and mitigate risks. Leveraging AI-SPM, Tenable allows organizations to identify and address threats such as sensitive data leakage, including personally identifiable information, payment card information and protected health information, along with misconfigurations and unsafe third-party tool integrations. AI Exposure also includes governance and control features that help organizations enforce policies and set guardrails around AI usage. The controls prevent unsafe behaviors and protect against emerging threats such as prompt injections, jailbreaks and manipulated AI outputs. And it integrates into the Tenable One platform to provide a unified view of risk across the entire attack surface. The new service is now available to Tenable customers in preview, with general availability expected by the end of 2025.
