The Technology Behind Wave Power

The Eco Wave Power system utilizes a simple yet effective mechanism to generate electricity. As waves cause the blue floats to bob up and down, each movement pushes a cylinder that sends biodegradable hydraulic fluid through pipes into storage tanks. The built-up pressure in these tanks then turns a motor, which in turn powers a generator to produce clean electricity

Potential Impact and Expansion

While the current pilot project will generate only a small amount of locally usable electricity, the larger goal is to demonstrate the technology's effectiveness for potential expansion. Eco Wave Power envisions extending the system along 8 miles of breakwater at the port, which could potentially power up to 60,000 homes
