Vietnam Tech Champion Accelerates AI Push With Japan Expansion

Vietnam's software and telecommunications champion FPT Corp. plans to open an AI data center in Japan next year, capitalizing on rising artificial intelligence demand to accelerate its expansion abroad. The plant is scheduled to start operating as early as January 2025, with a first-phase investment of $200 million with partners, FPT Chairman Truong Gia Binh said in an interview, without identifying them. The center, like a similar $200 million Vietnam facility announced this year, will run on Nvidia Corp. AI tech, he said.
