Google has officially launched "Scheduled Actions" for Gemini, enabling you to automate future and recurring tasks across Android, iOS, and the web. This feature will help you set up prompts that will run at a particular time, on a specific day or date, or in response to an event. To initiate a scheduled action, a user provides a detailed prompt including the desired timing and frequency. Gemini then confirms the action and automatically enables it. You'll be able to see your scheduled tasks through a new dedicated section within the Gemini interface. On mobile devices, this is accessible via the profile menu, while on the web, it can be found in the side panel under "Settings & help." From this dashboard, users can pause, resume, or delete any of their scheduled actions. The web interface offers a more robust editor, letting you rename actions, modify the underlying prompt, and set up daily, weekly, or monthly recurrences. You can, for one, ask it to put together market information every weekday, or ask it to give you a brand-new workout routine every day before you head to the gym. It's pretty useful for basically any workflow you want to implement. This feature is almost identical to ChatGPT's scheduled tasks, and works almost identically as well. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing -- chatbots keep taking inspiration from each other every so often. If you were waiting for the release of this feature, make sure to get one of Google's paid plans, because yes, this new feature is not available to free users of Gemini. Gemini Scheduled Actions now available on Android, iOS, and web

Following the announcement at the start of this month, Google has now rolled out Scheduled Actions for Gemini on Android, iOS, and the web to let you "plan ahead for future and recurring tasks." Scheduled Actions let you have a command run at a specified time, day, date, or after an event. To set one up, "provide details about when and how often you want to schedule the action" in the prompt. Gemini will confirm and automatically enable the Scheduled Action. To view all the ones you've set: This list lets you Pause/Resume or Delete, while the web version provides a richer editor that lets you rename, change the prompt/instruction, and schedule daily, weekly, or monthly.
