The preview shows just the basics: a Live icon, a mic button, and a close (X) icon, pointing to a more minimal, user-friendly setup for voice-based searches. While the outlet managed to uncover the new Search Live overlay, it's not functional yet, meaning it's still in early development. Since it's mostly borrowing from the Gemini Live design, though, rolling it out probably won't be too tricky for Google. Is Google Search morphing into an AI assistant? There's no doubt Google is aiming to unify how its AI chat features feel. Gemini Live already brought in call-style alerts and a tidy overlay, and now Search Live is following suit.
