We Saw Govee's Flashy New Smart Lights at CES 2025: Sync Music, Upgrade Gaming and More
Expertise Smart home | Smart security | Home tech | Energy savings | A/V Govee smart lights already have several recommendations at CNET, which is why I was excited that Govee's new colorful, app-controlled lighting launched at CES 2025 brings even more AI-fueled options for the home. Govee's CES space combined audios and visuals to help show just what its new home lights are capable of. One Govee light broadcast a colorful stream of waving lights onto the ceiling, like gentle red and green flames. A wall of blocks pulsed with more colorful light above a bed. Tabletop lamps with built-in speakers gave the vibe of 21st-century lava lamps, playing "California Dreamin'" by the Mamas and the Papas. If this wasn't on the frenetic show floor of CES 2025, it might even be relaxing. But what's going on with this riveting display? What first caught my eye was Govee's plans for Mini Panel Lights, smallish squares of lights designed to be snapped together into wall designs, which can flutter with color or build up a vivid, changeable picture. You can connect up to 120 of these little guys in whatever pattern you want, really letting your imagination run wild for decorating living rooms, bedrooms or, of course, gaming hideaways. Read more: This Fuzzy Sloth Baby Might Be the Cutest Robot I've Ever Seen at CES There's also the new Table Lamp 2 Pro x Sound by JBL (yes, it comes with JBL speakers,) which is sort of like a modern lava lamp designed to sync with whatever music is playing. Some of my colleagues have the speakerless Table Lamp and love the whimsical nature of picking presets or programming almost any color scheme you can imagine. You'll be able to choose from 100 color scenes to show off with the latest lamp-- quite the upgrade or bright splash of color for special spaces. It works with Google Assistant and Alexa for voice commands and comes with Matter compatibility. For gamers and PC desktops, the Gaming Pixel Light is a colorful type of smart display meant to sit by your desktop PC or a similar location and, well, make things more interesting. The lighting panel can use its pixels to show images or GIFs that you upload or allow you to sync it to music with a Govee sync box. It can even use its own speaker to play brief tracks and sync the lighting itself. Govee also showed off ways you can connect the Gaming Pixel to online widgets so it can display basic info like the weather, the current price of a specific stock, scores for a current game and dozens of other possibilities. Throughout these new products runs Govee's latest lighting effect technology, dubbed the AI Lighting Bot. It's designed to learn how people like to customize their lighting effects and make adding new effects even easier. That tech works alongside Govee Dreamview, a mirroring technology that allows you to instantly set lights to mirror a specific image, color palette or set of sounds so you can get just the experience you're aiming for. Govee isn't currently releasing price information for its new lights, but the company plans to start shipping products like the Pixel Light and Tablet Lamp 2 Pro in the second quarter of 2025. I'll keep you updated when I'm able to experiment.

Two new Govee Matter smart lights have arrived at CES 2025 | AppleInsider
At CES 2025, smart home purveyor Govee showed off two new lights for the smart home with unique form factors and features that work natively with the Home app. Historically, Govee has shunned the Apple Home, even though it supported Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. Fortunately, thanks to Matter, we now have support for its latest products. That includes its new AI-powered Pixel Light, Mini Panel Lights, and Table Lamp 2 Pro. All coming this year. The Gaming Pixel Light is an LED board that can be placed on a counter or desk or can be mounted on the wall. It has sharp, angled edges that match your typical gaming setup. Colors and patterns can be generated with Govee's AI lighting bot or personalized by the user. There are many pre-built designs that includes weather, a music visualizer, sport schedules, and more. It also has a built in speaker which is what allows it to synchronize with the music in real-time while it's playing. The second wholly new product is its Table Lamp 2 Pro X Sound by JBL. The long-named lamp combined Govee's lighting with JBL's sound technology. It's a cylindrical lamp with a clear bottom and colorful top with the speaker output on the crown. The whole lamp is battery powered, allowing it to be portable within your home. Within the illuminated top portion are more than 200 LEDs that blend together to create various colors and multi-colored looks. It supports the full color spectrum as well as various shades of white light, from warm to cool. Both the Table Lamp 2 Pro X Sound by JBL and the Gaming Pixel Light will be available in Q2 of 2025 with prices yet to be announced. Govee also was highlighting its new Mini Panel Lights at the annual tech show, though those became available in December 2024. They have small curved fronts that give them a beaded and 3D look and can be combined to create different patterns and layouts. Up to 120 mini panels can be combined together to cover your wall and the app supports more than 50 different lighting effects.

CES 2025: Smart lighting brand Govee goes all-in with AI
Govee is in Vegas casting itself as a trailblazer in smart lighting AI, and it's got a 12 billion-parameter model to prove it. Sure, Govee has some new smart lights to unveil at CES this year, but what this smart lighting manufacturer really wants to talk about is, of course, the buzzword of the show: AI. From its AI-powered gaming lights to its light-scene-creating AI chatbot, Govee clearly sees its budding AI efforts as the best way to set itself apart in the crowded smart lighting market, and the company isn't being timid about putting AI front and center. The star of the show is Govee's smart lighting-focused AI model, newly upgraded to 12 billion parameters, up from just 0.86B parameters in the previous version Trained on more than 10,000 lighting effects, Govee's model is the brains behind its text-to-image AI Lighting Bot, which allows users to create and edit smart light effects using natural-language text prompts. There's also AI Dreamview, a Govee technology that applies their newly created effects across groups of smart lights. To be clear, Govee does have some actual smart lights to show off at CES, including a new and portable table lamp that doubles as a Bluetooth speaker. The Govee Table Lamp 2 Pro x Sound by JBL is a curved, cylindrical table lamp that comes equipped with 210 discretely controllable LED beads, good for serving up dozens of preset lighting scenes or your own AI-aided creations, with brightness topping out at 600 lumens. Equipped with a 5,200mAh rechargeable battery, the Table Lamp 2 Pro also packs a JBL-made 2.5-inch full-range driver, along with a pair of passive radiators for "excellent depth of sound and clarity," Govee promises. You'll be able to pair two of the Table Lamp 2 Pro units together for stereo audio, and the lamp also supports Matter (another big smart home theme at CES), meaning it will work with Alexa, Apple Home, Google Home, and Samsung SmartThings. Govee is eyeing a second-quarter 2025 launch window for the Table Lamp 2 Pro x Sound by JBL, with pricing to be announced later. The company is also touting its Matter-enabled Mini Panel Lights, which were released last November. The square-shaped panels, which are available in sets of 10 ($99.99) and 20 ($149.99), offer "push-type" connections with a "smart connection system" that can "intelligently recognize" the layout you've devised. You can connect up to 70 of the Mini Panel Lights together, with each panel packing in 15 lamp beads -- and yes, you can apply any of your AI-created lighting effects, along with 50 preset effects. Finally, Govee is unwrapping a gaming-focused light panel that displays retro-style pixel art that can be synced to games or music. Available in two sizes and complete with an embedded speaker that can emit 8-bit music, the Govee Gaming Pixel Light is a throwback low-resolution yet AI-powered screen that delivers animations at up to 30fps. Besides animated pixel art, the Gaming Pixel Light can also display the weather, double as a clock, or dish out sports scores or bitcoin trading prices. Like the Govee Table Lamp 2 Pro x Sound by JBL, the Govee Gaming Pixel Light is slated for release in the second quarter of the year, and no price has been set yet.
