Lenovo just gave two of its Yoga AI laptops a major Aura Edition upgrade - here's all the new features
As part of its multi-year collaboration with Intel, Lenovo takes its existing laptops and re-releases them with new features and capabilities under the Aura Edition moniker. At MWC 2025, the company has unveiled the new 16-inch Lenovo Yogo Pro 9i Aura Edition and the 14-inch Lenovo Pro 7i Aura Edition. They join other members of the Lenovo Aura Edition lineup including the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Aura Edition, the Lenovo Yoga 9i 2-in-1 Aura Edition, the latest ThinkPad X1 Carbon and the X1 2-in-1 Aura Editions and the new Lenovo ThinkPad X9 Aura Editions. So what makes an Aura Edition laptop special? Well, it's the extra features like Smart Modes which offer improved control of customizability, Smart Share which enables AI-driven image sharing between Android and iOS phones and these laptops and Smart Care which provides real-time support and troubleshooting. At the same time, these Aura Edition devices are known for their high-quality displays and better battery life. Built for creators who need high performance and precision, the new Yoga Pro 9i Aura Edition combines an Intel Core Ultra processor and up to a Nvidia RTX 5070 GPU. This allows this new laptop to deliver advanced AI capabilities, exceptional display technology and powerful processing. This new Aura Edition Yoga laptop also offers on-device AI to take advantage of new features in 3rd-party video, photo and music applications. Likewise, it also comes with the company's AI image generator Lenovo Creator Zone pre-installed, among other AI-powered apps. When it comes to its screen, the Yoga Pro 9i Aura Edition has a 3.2K PureSight Pro display with tandem OLED technology which lets it reach an overall peak brightness of 1,600 nits. Its display also supports 100% sRGB, P3 and Adobe RGB color gamut which means it will be a great choice for photo and video editing. You also have the option to outfit this laptop with an RTX 5070 GPU which apps like Nvidia Studio can leverage to accelerate video editing, 3D rendering and more to help creators save time while getting more done. If a 16-inch laptop is too large for you, then there's always the Lenovo Yoga Pro 7i Aura Edition. This 14-inch laptop offers similar performance in a smaller frame and can be outfitted with up to an Intel Core Ultra 9 processor as well as up to 32GB of RAM. Thanks to Lenovo X Power which manages CPU and RAM loads to deliver smooth performance, quiet cooling and reliability, you'll be able to use the Yoga Pro 7i Aura Edition's 14.5-inch 3K OLED PureSight Pro display for even longer at 75W of TDP. This new addition to Lenovo's Aura Edition lineup also features the new Yoga keyboard which has 1.5mm of travel and all of the keys are coated in an oil as well as water-resistant coating for a comfortable as well as long-lasting typing experience. As this keyboard is part of the Yoga premium Suite, the Yoga Pro 7i also features four Dolby Atmos speakers along with noise-cancelling microphones for clear and crisp audio. With a bold new design and improved durability, the IdeaPad Slim 3x is a 15-inch laptop powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon X processor and sports a 45 TOPS NPU. At the same time, this Copilot+ laptop uses AI to deliver faster drafting, compiling, generation, editing and all of the other sorts of tasks you could want in an affordable laptop for work. With a tap of its Copilot key, you can access powerful on-device AI experiences but it's the Snapdragon X processor is what could make this one of the best laptops for battery life. The IdeaPad Slim 3x has a 60Whr battery and with a Qualcomm chip as opposed to one from Intel or AMD, you'll be able to use this device for even longer before having to plug it in. When you do though, Lenovo's Rapid Charge feature delivers up to two hours of battery life from just a 15-minute charge. One final cool thing about the IdeaPad Slim 3x is that it has a spare SSD slot for adding even more storage down the line. Whether it's CES or Mobile World Congress, Lenovo always comes to events like this with loads of new laptops and updated configurations to show off. AI continues to be a key focus of its latest laptops and that's true here with its new Yoga Pro Aura Edition and IdeaPad devices. The Lenovo Yoga Pro 9i Aura Edition will be available in the second quarter of this year and is expected to have a starting price of $1,799. Unfortunately, the smaller Yoga Pro 7i Aura Edition won't be available in North America. As for the IdeaPad Slim 3x, it will be available this month with an expected starting price of $649.

Lenovo debuts new ThinkPads and an RTX 5070-powered Yoga
While most people at Mobile World Congress who talk about Lenovo will probably be discussing its various concept devices. Lenovo is also showing off a series of new laptops that we know for a fact it will actually go on sale. Among them, Lenovo is adding to its Aura Edition collection with the Yoga Pro 9i, while also updating numerous ThinkPads. The Yoga Pro 9i Aura Edition -- furthering Lenovo's partnership on flagship products with Intel inside -- is effectively a workstation class product mixing Core Ultra processors up to an Ultra 9 285H with Nvidia graphics up to a GeForce RTX 5070. That's alongside 64GB of LPDDR5X dual-channel RAM and up to 1TB of PCIe SSD storage. Unsurprisingly, that power is being pushed as a way to run on-device AI. The 16-inch display will go up to a 3200 x 2000, 120 Hz tandem OLED panel panel with up to 1600 nits peak brightness that Lenovo is calling PureSight Pro. There's also a 5MP webcam, Wi-Fi 7, and a mix of USB Type-C (Thunderbolt 4 and USB 4 at 40 GBps) and USB-A ports. Lenovo describes the laptop as using "on-device AI," including Lenovo Creator Zone and Lenovo X Power, the latter which tunes performance with machine learning. The Yoga Pro 9i will share the Smart Modes, Smart Share (for moving images between your laptop, Android phones, and iPhones), and premium troubleshooting support from Lenovo technicians offered with other Aura Edition-branded machines. The Lenovo Yoga Pro 9i 16 will launch in Q2 with a planned starting price of $1,799. A smaller version, the 7i Aura Edition, won't be sold in North America. Lenovo is using Mobile World Congress to make a change to its long-running T-series of ThinkPads. The T14s 2-in-1 is the first convertible in the lineup. This one will use Intel Core Ultra 7 processors (both U and H 200-series chips). Configurations will go up to 64GB LPDDR5x soldered RAM and up to a 1TB PCIe Gen 5x4 SSD. The 14-inch touchscreen has a 1920 x 1200 resolution. Lenovo specifically refers to the 58 WHr battery as customer-replaceable. Like the Yoga, the T14s 2-in-1 will have a 5MP camera. There's also a new ThinkPad X13, the Gen 6, that weighs just 2.05 pounds. This system will have more choices for chips, going up to an Intel Core Ultra 7 H or U 200-series processor with vPro or AMD Ryzen AI Pro 300 Series chips. Other specs include up to 64GB of RAM, up to 2TB of PCIe SSD storage, and a 13.3-inch, 1920 x 1200 display, as well as support for Wi-Fi 7 and 5G Sub6. The ThihnkPad X13 Gen 6 will launch in June 2025, and Lenovo plans to price it starting at $1,139.00. The T14s 2-in-1 will also come in June at $1,719.00, alongside a clamshell T14s Gen 6 for $1,674.00.

Lenovo's new AI laptops for MWC include the Yoga Pro 9i Aura edition and the IdeaPad Slim 3x
Lenovo has announced new laptops with generative AI features for this year's Mobile World Congress (MWC), including the Yoga Pro 9i Aura edition. Lenovo's Aura edition branding is the result of a partnership with Intel to create a set of "distinct software, hardware and AI features" that make "computing a more personalized, productive, and protected experience." The Yoga Pro 9i Aura edition is powered by the Intel Core Ultra processor and ships with the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 GPU, which is the company's most affordable model in the RTX 50 series. It has a 16-inch 3.2K PureSight Pro display with a double layer of OLED pixels that increases its overall brightness to 1600nits peak, as well as boosts its power efficiency. The display also supports 100 percent sRGB, P3 and Adobe RGB color gamut that provide true-to-life color accuracy. Like the previous versions of the Yoga Pro 9i, the Aura edition comes with the Lenovo Creator Zone, an on-device AI suite that can make third-party video, photo and music applications for creators easier to use. Lenovo's Yoga Pro 9i Aura Edition will be available starting in the second quarter of 2025, with prices starting at $1,799. The company has also introduced the 15-inch IdeaPad Slim 3x, a Copilot+ PC that runs on Snapdragon X chip, Qualcomm's new platform designed to put Copilot+ PCs within reach for more people. IdeaPad Slim 3x can also process AI tasks on device and comes with a dedicated key for Microsoft's Copilot assistant. One more interesting feature is the device's open SSD slot that can fit an extra SSD for those who want to expand the laptop's storage capacity. The model will be available starting this month for at least $649.

I own a super gaming PC, but Lenovo's powerful laptop is making me jealous | Stuff
In addition to its more outlandish concepts (like the solar-powered laptop), Lenovo has also launched a smattering of other products that may or may not make their into our list of the best laptops once they land on shelves. Taking the stage at MWC 2025 in Barcelona with a suite of new AI-powered laptops, the company is touting a "Smarter Technology for All" philosophy that's paving the way for its latest notebook ranges -- two of which are the Yoga Pro 9i Aura Edition and IdeaPad Slim 3x. The former is a premium 16in laptop that appears to have its sights set on those looking for powerful on the go performance, wielding the power of an Intel Core Ultra 9 processor paired with up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 GPU and 32GB of RAM -- a combination that should make short work of video editing, 3D rendering, and other creative workflows (not to mention, gaming). Lenovo has also implemented its X Power technology -- a machine learning-powered tuning solution that optimises performance to achieve 130W TDP while keeping temperatures down to respectable levels. As for the screen, it promises a feast for the eyes, thanks to its 3.2K PureSight Pro OLED panel and 1600 nits of peak brightness. Colour-obsessed creatives will also be pleased to note that the display supports 100% of the sRGB, P3, and Adobe RGB colour gamuts, providing what Lenovo lavishly describes as "radiant verisimilitude" for artistic endeavours. Interested? The Yoga Pro 9i Aura Edition will be available starting June 2025 with prices beginning at a rather substantial €1699 (including VAT). At the slightly more accessible end of the spectrum, Lenovo also introduced the IdeaPad Slim 3x -- a 15in 2560 x 1600 OLED laptop that's ready for all manner of AI shenanigans, thanks to its Snapdragon X processor, complete with a NPU (Neural Processing Unit) and up to 24GB RAM. Naturally, it's earned its Copilot+ label, with a dedicated Copilot key for dabbling in AI queries at the touch of a button. One standout feature (for a laptop, at least) is its expandable SSD slot, letting you easily upgrade the internal storage without being forced to upgrade or whip out any intricate, warranty-voiding toolkits. For the more budget-conscious, a 15.3-inch IPS model with a 1920 x 1200 resolution is also available, with a touch variant for those who enjoy leaving fingerprints on their screens. Rapid Charge technology that promises up to two hours of battery from just a 15-minute charge should also come in handy. The IdeaPad Slim 3x is scheduled for a March 2025 release, with prices starting at a more digestible €599. Lenovo has yet to reveal US or UK pricing information for its new laptop range. Elsewhere, the company also unveiled various other Yoga and IdeaPad models, including the Yoga Pro 7i Aura Edition, the Yoga Slim 7, and several 2-in-1 convertibles -- all sporting varying levels of AI capabilities and creative features.

This Lenovo laptop has a genius Geek Mode that overclocks the GPU and CPU to a combined 200W TDP
It used to be that if you wanted a powerful PC, you'd go for a desktop, and if you wanted portability, you'd opt for a laptop instead. But these days, that's not really true. The Lenovo Legion Pro 7i is a top-of-the-range desktop replacement, and when we reviewed it, we called it "one of the most powerful gaming laptops money can buy." Powered by the 14th Generation Intel Core i9-14900HX processor with up to an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4090 laptop GPU and up to 32GB DDR5 5600MHz RAM, the Legion Pro 7i Gen 9 is an absolute beast. But it's about to get some stiff competition from Lenovo's newest gaming laptop, the ThinkBook 16p Gen 6. When we wrote about the third generation ThinkBook 16p laptop back in 2022, we said it was "double-dipping in gaming and creative markets," and that remains true with the latest iteration. While it can run games at a blistering pace, the Gen 6 model, unveiled at MWC 2025, is an absolute no-brainer for power users, creators, and professionals needing high-performance AI acceleration and the ability to handle challenging tasks. Lenovo says, "Powered by Intel Core Ultra processors (HX-SKUs), this laptop delivers exceptional computing power for complex workloads. At its core, the discrete NPU (Neural Processing Unit) module powers Lenovo AI Now personal assistant to seamlessly enhance workflow productivity and automation. This frees the Nvidia GeForce RTX GPU to do more complex tasks, such as real-time studio-grade acceleration for 3D rendering, modeling, and visualization of complex designs." The ThinkBook 16p Gen 6 has a high system TDP of 180W, but this can be increased to up to 200W in Geek Mode, which overclocks the GPU and CPU to allow the laptop to handle more demanding tasks. The new ThinkBook features an advanced dual-fan cooling system to keep things cool under heavy workloads. The 16-inch 3.2K display offers X-Rite color calibration and low blue light support, and the laptop sports USB-C and HDMI ports, as well as Wi-Fi 7 connectivity. It also supports a range of "Magic Bay" concept accessories, including multiple screens and Tiko, its AI companion. The ThinkBook 16p Gen 6 is arguably one of the most exciting laptops Lenovo showcased at MWC 2025, but unfortunately, it's currently listed as "not available in North America," so we'll have to wait a while for pricing and other details. Lenovo also updated some of its other laptops for MWC 2025. The ThinkPad T14 Gen 6 and ThinkPad T16 Gen 4, both available in May, will feature Intel Core Ultra processors with vPro or AMD Ryzen AI PRO options, and be priced from $1,359 and $1,623, respectively. For those seeking affordable, reliable performance, the ThinkPad E14 Gen 7 and ThinkPad E16 Gen 3 will be available in Q2 2025, priced at $849 and $859, making them solid choices for budget-conscious professionals.
