AI-Powered Enhancements and Expanded Accessibility

Apple has rolled out macOS Sequoia 15.4, a comprehensive update that brings significant improvements to Mac computers. The update focuses on enhancing productivity, creativity, and security through AI-driven features and expanded language support 1.

One of the key highlights is the expansion of Apple Intelligence capabilities. The AI-powered features are now available in additional regions, including India, and support new languages such as Chinese (Simplified), English (India, Singapore), French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese (Brazil), and Spanish 1. This expansion makes Apple's ecosystem more inclusive and user-friendly for a diverse global audience 2.

Redesigned Mail App and New Features

The update introduces a revamped Mail app, previously available on iOS, to Mac computers. The new design sorts emails into four categories: Primary, Transactions, Updates, and Promotions. Users can also access a Digest View that consolidates emails from the same sender into a single thread, improving email management efficiency 1.

macOS 15.4 also brings the Memory Movie feature to Mac, which was previously only available on iOS. Additionally, the Image Playground app now includes a new Sketch style, offering users more creative options for image editing 12.

Enhanced Security and Quick Start Setup

Security remains a top priority in this update, with Apple addressing over 120 vulnerabilities. The update fixes issues such as autofilling passwords after failed authentication attempts, unauthorized website access to sensor data, and apps accessing sensitive location information from the Maps app 1.

Setting up a new Mac has become more straightforward with the introduction of the Quick Start feature. Users can now scan a moving image using their iPhone or iPad to instantly copy settings and set up their new computer, significantly reducing downtime during device transitions 12.

Customization and User Experience Improvements

macOS 15.4 offers new customization options to personalize the Mac experience. The update includes seven new emoji and expands wallpaper choices. While the update doesn't include support for Priority Notifications (available on iOS 18.4 and iPadOS 18.4), it does introduce other user experience enhancements 12.

Updating to macOS Sequoia 15.4

To install the update, users can open the Settings app and navigate to General > Software Update > Update Now. After downloading, the system will reboot to complete the installation. Upon logging in, users will be prompted to set up the new Apple Intelligence features 1.

This update represents Apple's ongoing commitment to improving user experience, security, and AI integration across its ecosystem. By combining enhanced productivity tools with stronger security measures and expanded language support, macOS Sequoia 15.4 offers a compelling upgrade for Mac users worldwide.
