Pegasystems Introduces Agentic Process Fabric

Matt Healy, senior director of product strategy and marketing at Pegasystems, explained, "Agentic Process Fabric... allows enterprises to build a registry of all of their workflows, existing systems, existing applications, all of their AI agents -- both Pega's and non-Pega's -- and stitch everything together into a unified agentic experience" 1.

Enhanced Pega Blueprint for Legacy System Modernization

Pegasystems has also introduced new features to its Pega Blueprint platform, aimed at streamlining the inclusion of legacy content in re-architected workflows. The enhanced tool allows users to upload legacy system assets and uses AI to analyze and synthesize them into a modernized application blueprint 1.

Chief Product Officer Kerim Akgonul demonstrated the power of this new feature, stating, "We literally went from a Cobol-based legacy application... into Blueprint, ran it through large language models, mapped it to Pega constructs... and created an agentic experience that I can have a conversation with" 1.

AI-Powered Enhancements to Pega InfinityApp Studio

In addition to Agentic Process Fabric and Blueprint enhancements, Pegasystems announced AI-powered improvements to its Pega InfinityApp Studio. These enhancements aim to guide developers through the application development process, enabling faster innovation and market entry for enterprises 2.

Key capabilities include:

  1. An enhanced AI developer agent that provides real-time guidance and best practice suggestions.
  2. Streamlined integrations that automatically generate field mapping between Pega applications and third-party systems.
  3. AI-powered RPA design experience for building automations between disparate systems.
  4. Automated, AI-powered testing to ensure high-quality deployments.
  5. Accelerated user experience (UX) configuration using AI to assemble data fields and layouts 2.

Addressing Enterprise Concerns

Pegasystems' new offerings are designed to address enterprise hesitancy around AI agent deployment by emphasizing predictability, governance, and integration. The company's approach separates AI usage into design-time and runtime phases, aiming to reduce the risk of erratic agent behavior 1.

Pega Chief Technology Officer Don Schuerman highlighted the significance of these developments, saying, "This is pretty game-changing for our clients who are looking to modernize their systems, not just lift and shift them onto the cloud, but truly transform the way the workflows work" 1.

Market Impact and Availability

The announcements have had a positive impact on Pegasystems' market performance, with the company's shares up more than 40% over the past five weeks 1.

Pega Agentic Process Fabric is scheduled for broad availability in the third quarter of 2025 as part of the next release of the Pega Infinity automation platform. The updated Blueprint capabilities, including support for legacy asset ingestion and expanded data modeling, are available immediately 1.
