Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 versus Motorola Razr+ (2024) - Phandroid
Samsung is undoubtedly the king when it comes to foldables. The company recently announced their latest foldable, the Galaxy Z Flip 6. It is undoubtedly one of the most powerful smartphones today, but how does it fare against the competition? In this article, we'll take a look at the Flip 6 versus the Razr+ (2024) from Motorola. Both phones are similar in design in the fact that they're both foldable phones that have adopted the clamshell design. The Razr+ does have a more curved look to it thanks to the curvier edges, versus the Flip 6 which ditched the curved edges for something a bit more flat. In terms of size, the Razr+ is bigger. It measures 171.4 x 74 x 7.1 mm when unfolded, while the Flip 6 is 165.1 x 71.9 x 6.9 mm unfolded. When folded up, the Razr+ measures 88.1 x 74 x 15.3 mm, while the Flip 6 comes in at 85.1 x 71.9 x 14.9 mm. As you can see, the Flip 6 is slightly thinner by about 0.4mm. It is also slightly lighter by 2 grams. If weight and thickness are important to you in a phone, then it is clear that the Flip 6 is the winner. There is a reason the Razr+ is bigger, thicker, and heavier versus the Flip 6. This is because in the display department, the Razr+ has a larger screen. The foldable display of the Razr+ measures 6.9-inches. It also has a resolution of 1080×2640 with a 165Hz refresh rate, an AMOLED panel with Dolby Vision support, a 165Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness of 3,000 nits. The Flip 6, on the other hand, has a slightly smaller 6.7-inch display. The resolution is the same, but the refresh rate is slightly slower at 120Hz. Its brightness is also lower at 2,600 nits peak. As for the external display, the Razr+ has a larger 4-inch display with a 165Hz refresh rate and 2,400 nits of peak brightness. The Flip 6 has a 3.4-inch display with a slightly higher peak brightness of 2,600 nits. If you value having a larger screen, both on the inside and outside, the Razr+ might be a better choice. When it comes to performance, the Flip 6 is the clear winner. It uses the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, while the Razr+ uses the slightly less powerful Snapdragon 8s Gen 3. For day to day tasks, the differences are negligible. You might notice the difference when running more intensive applications, but for emails, surfing the web, watching videos, and chatting, probably not so much. The Flip 6 also has the advantage of packing more RAM at 12GB, while the Razr+ only comes with 8GB of RAM. Both phones also rely on the same UFS 4.0 storage so read and write speeds should be similar. Samsung's foldable phones have never really been known to sport particularly powerful cameras. The company did upgrade the main sensor of the Flip 6 to a 50MP main, but it is accompanied by the same 12MP ultrawide from the previous model. The Razr+, however, features a dual 50MP setup with wider apertures which should be better for low-light photography. Its selfie cam also comes in at 32MP while the Flip 6 still packs a paltry 10MP. When it comes to battery life, both the Flip 6 and Razr+ are pretty much the same. Both pack 4,000mAh batteries. This means that it will depend on how optimized the software is on both phones. The Razr+ does have a slight advantage at being able to charge faster thanks to its 45W wired charging speeds, versus the Flip 6 which only supports 25W. Both phones also support 15W wireless charging speeds, but the Razr+ has support for 5W reverse wireless, while the Flip 6 is at 4.5W. We doubt the 0.5W will make a huge difference, but it's something to consider. When it comes to pricing, the Razr+ is a great value for money phone. It is priced starting at $899.99, while the Flip 6 is priced starting at $1,099.99. There are some areas the Flip 6 is better at, such as its performance where it packs a more powerful chipset and more RAM. But is this really worth the difference of $200? It could be, especially for those who love the Samsung ecosystem and want to be able to use software features like Galaxy AI. But if you're looking for a clamshell foldable phone, it's hard to beat the asking price of the 2024 Motorola Razr+.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 have amassed huge pre-orders in India, surpassing the numbers of their predecessors. Samsung has recorded the highest number of pre-orders for the latest Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 in India. The company has received 40% more pre-orders for its sixth-generation foldable phones. Both smartphones will soon be available for retail purchase in India. Let's look at the details which contributed to the massive success of the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 in India. Samsung launched the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 in India last week. These are the slimmest and lightest foldable devices from Samsung since the original Galaxy Fold was introduced in 2020. Samsung is currently the market leader in foldable smartphones in India and worldwide. Samsung India has revealed that the company has recorded 40% higher pre-orders for the latest Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 compared to the last-gen foldable. For comparison, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5 received 1 lakh pre-orders last year in the country. The latest numbers indicate growing interest and demand for foldable smartphones among Indian consumers. To recall, the Galaxy Z Flip 6 is priced at Rs 1,09,999, and the Galaxy Z Fold 6 is priced at Rs 1,64,999 in India. Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 Prime Day deal alert -- save $120 now plus free $200 gift card
Samsung officially launched the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 at its Unpacked summer event last week. And the new phones came with a controversial $100 price hike over their predecessors. The good news is that, at least for the latter, Amazon Prime Day has rendered that increase null and void. That's because right now you can preorder the 512GB version of the Galaxy Z Flip 6 for $1,099 from Amazon, saving you $120 on this 2024 flagship device. Now, this isn't the very best deal we've seen on the Flip 6. You can get it for as low as $449 at Samsung, but that will require trading in an older device. The Amazon deal actually gets even better. For no extra cost, you can opt to buy the 512GB Galaxy Z Flip alongside a $200 Amazon gift card -- effectively saving you $320. The only caveat is this is a limited time deal, so there's no telling how long it'll be available for. While we've seen other deals around for this phone, this is a no-strings-attached way to cancel out the price hike and grab yourself some extra spending money at Amazon too. For those that want to go all-in on Samsung, you can also buy the above offer with the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro thrown in for $1,349. The sting in the tail is we don't know how long the limited time Amazon voucher offer will stick around for. But if you move quickly, it makes for a good way to knock some cash off the likes of the Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 (which you can also score a discount on) or Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra that make for a perfect pairing with the Galaxy Z Flip 6. As for the phone itself, in our initial Galaxy Z Flip 6 hands-on review, we called it a fun upgrade that packs many of the same great Galaxy AI features found in the Galaxy S24 Ultra, along with a few new ones designed solely for the Galaxy Z Flip 6. Samsung's latest flippable phone rocks a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, a new dual rail hinge design, 4,000 mAh capacity battery, and an upgraded 50MP main camera. So far we're more excited about the Galaxy Z Flip 6 than the Motorola Razr Plus 2024. We also really like all the new Galaxy AI features because many of them help to make the phone look more customizable than ever before.
