Samsung's New Galaxy Foldables Will Be Announced at July 9 Unpacked Event
Named a Tech Media Trailblazer by the Consumer Technology Association in 2019, a winner of SPJ NorCal's Excellence in Journalism Awards in 2022 and has three times been a finalist in the LA Press Club's National Arts & Entertainment Journalism Awards. Samsung is gearing up to debut its next slate of foldable Galaxy Z phones, which likely includes follow-ups to last year's Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6. The company will host an Unpacked event in July, where it'll show off its latest devices and Galaxy AI updates. The event will take place in Brooklyn, New York, and will be live streamed on the Samsung Newsroom, at Samsung.com and on Samsung's YouTube channel. Unpacked kicks off on Wednesday, July 9, at 7 a.m. PT/10 a.m. ET. Samsung has been teasing its upcoming foldables for the last several weeks. In early June, a Samsung Newsroom post pointed to the company bringing "an Ultra-experience" to "a smaller and more portable form factor." That apparently includes a "powerful camera" and "AI-powered tools." The following week, the company said in another blog post that its "newest Galaxy Z series is the thinnest, lightest and most advanced foldable yet." It appears to be following in the footsteps of the slim and lightweight Galaxy S25 Edge, which was released in May. Samsung seems to be especially focused on scaling the capabilities of its foldables' cameras with the help of AI. It noted in a subsequent blog post, "The camera will only get smarter -- helping users capture life's moments more vividly and make everyday experiences more seamless, personal and impactful." An animated invite for July's Unpacked event begins by showing the slim side profile of a device that then splits into two phones. One of these phones folds like a book, and on-screen text at the end reads "Ultra Unfolds." It's possible Samsung could unveil the Galaxy Z Flip 7, Z Fold 7 and then the Z Fold Ultra. There are also murmurs of a more affordable Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE phone. Leaker Evan Blass shared renders of the rumored device, which appears similar to the Galaxy Z Flip 6, but the phone could swap out the Snapdragon chip for an Exynos processor. Meanwhile, renders of the flagship foldable Galaxy Z Flip 7 suggest Samsung could nix the physical camera notch and opt for an edge-to-edge cover display. But we'll have to wait and see what the company has in store. There have also been rumors about the Galaxy Watch 8 making its debut at Unpacked, though Samsung hasn't yet been teasing its wearables like it has its foldable phones. If you're eager to get the upcoming Galaxy device, you can reserve it now and earn a $50 Samsung Credit at Samsung.com.

Next Samsung Galaxy Unpacked Set for July 9: Expect New Foldables, More AI
Samsung's summer Galaxy Unpacked event is now set for July 9. The in-person event takes place in Brooklyn, New York, but if you're not in the New York area, you'll be able to livestream Unpacked at Samsung.com and on Samsung's YouTube channel. The invitation says, "With AI leading the way, Galaxy devices are evolving from reactionary smartphones to anticipatory smart companions - transforming how we communicate, create, and connect." Samsung has bet big on AI, debuting Galaxy AI with the S24 series, expanding it in the S25 lineup, and even integrating select features into its budget models. Next month's event will almost certainly include the introduction of Samsung's newest foldable phones. Early in June, the company teased what looks like a larger, but thinner version of the Galaxy Z Fold in a press release entitled, "Meet the Next Chapter of Ultra." Currently, Samsung uses the Ultra suffix to denote the most premium of its devices, like the Galaxy S25 Ultra and the Galaxy Watch Ultra, while none of its foldable phones bear that modifier yet. Samsung followed up with another release entitled, "Thin, Light and Built to Last: The New Era of the Galaxy Z Series." It flat out states, "This year, that [foldable phone] journey reaches a new milestone. The newest Galaxy Z series is the thinnest, lightest and most advanced foldable yet - meticulously crafted and built to last." Both the Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 are thin when open, but can feel bulky when closed since their thickness is doubled up. Thinner models could appeal to more people's pockets in more ways than one. A third release by Samsung, "Your Smartphone Camera Now Gets What You're Looking At -- and Responds," explains how AI plays a large part in capturing and editing photos. The company once again teased new Z phones with, "When paired with the flexible, expansive screen of a foldable, [AI photography] becomes even more powerful, dynamic and immersive." The Galaxy Z Fold 6 is one of the most expensive Samsung phones available, but the S25 Ultra still features higher-end cameras. All of these press releases suggest we may see improved, foldable-specific AI tools that take advantage of cutting-edge hardware at the start of July. Rumors are swirling as to pricing, but nothing is official just yet.

The next Samsung Unpacked event takes place on July 9
Galaxy AI updates, foldables and a new Galaxy Watch are likely to be in the offing. It's almost time for another one of Samsung's Unpacked events. The third Unpacked to be held this year (following installments in January and May) will take place on July 9 at 10AM ET. It will emanate from Brooklyn, New York and stream on the Samsung Newsroom, the company's website and its YouTube channel. Samsung is promising a look at the "next evolution of Galaxy AI and the ever-expanding Galaxy ecosystem." The company usually debuts its latest foldables in the summer, so we are expecting to see the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 here. As if there was any doubt that this Unpacked will focus on foldables, an image Samsung sent out along with event invitations (embedded below) makes that clear. It's looking like the rumored Galaxy Z Fold Ultra is in store too, as a teaser video includes the phrase "Ultra Unfolds." Way to be subtle, Samsung. A new Galaxy Watch also seems likely to make an appearance, while rumors have been flying around that this Unpacked may feature a Galaxy S25 FE, which is slated to arrive later this year. We may even get a glimpse of a Samsung tri-fold phone. Meanwhile, the Android XR headset that Samsung has been working on with Google is slated to arrive this year -- this Unpacked seems like a good opportunity for the company to spill the beans on that. If you're already pretty sure that you're going to switch to a new Samsung device, you don't necessarily have to wait until July 9 to make a reservation for one of the upcoming models. In fact, if you make a reservation starting tonight on Samsung's website, you can receive a $50 credit.

Samsung Teases 'Ultra' Foldable for Unpacked Event Next Month
Is it already time for another Samsung Unpacked event? You bet your ass it is. Samsung has announced it'll be hosting an event next month on July 9 for what'll presumably be its latest Galaxy Z Flip and Z Fold foldable Android phones. Unlike previous years, when Samsung announced new foldable phones in Paris and Seoul, this go-around will be in Brooklyn, New York (my hometown!) starting at 10:00 a.m. ET / 7 a.m. PT. Gizmodo will be at the event live, but there will also be a live stream on Samsung's YouTube channel and Samsung's website. Samsung's not sharing any details today, except for the teaser image above and video below, and this one-liner it emailed us: "With AI leading the way, Galaxy devices are evolving from reactionary smartphones to anticipatory smart companions â€" transforming how we communicate, create, and connect." It's not much to go on, but it hints at more agentic AI applications that take actions on your behalfâ€"you know, the stuff that Apple promised with its contextually aware, AI-powered Siri that it failed to deliver and reportedly won't ship until next year. Just because Samsung isn't spoiling its new foldables early doesn't mean we don't already know stuff about them. This being the internet, many of the important details have already leaked. At the end of the teaser video, the words "ultra unfolds" flash. This is most likely a nod to the "Ultra" branding that already exists for Samsung's main Galaxy S-series phones, with the name suggesting the best of everything the company can throw at it. The best foldable screen(s), the best hinge, the best cameras, the best performance, the best battery lifeâ€"hopefully it lives up to the Ultra name. Samsung also not-so-subtly teased as much with a post on its U.S. newsroom page earlier this month. For years, Samsung has listened to users asking for bigger screens, better cameras and new ways to connect and create. The demand is clear â€" an Ultra-experience that goes beyond a simple list of upgraded features in a smaller and more portable form factor. ... With industry-leading hardware, cutting-edge performance and seamless AI integration optimized for the foldable format, it’s what users have come to expect from Galaxy Ultra. And when it unfolds, it transformsâ€" into a more immersive entertainment hub, a spacious workspace, or a multitasking powerhouse, now enhanced by powerful Galaxy AI features designed specifically for the foldable fo Samsung's either skipping what would be the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Z Fold 7 for the Galaxy Z Flip Ultra and Z Fold Ultra, respectively, or an even more premium-tier Galaxy Z Ultra foldable will be announced alongside the annual refreshes. Leaked images suggest Samsung's foldables will be thinner than the current Z Flip 6 and Z Fold 6. Samsung's own teaser video also shows two seemingly super-slim halves coming apart. For the new Z Flip, the cover screen could expand edge to edge, similar to the ones on Motorola's new Razr flip-style foldables. More pixels are always appreciated on the cover screen, and it means apps should be able to run without needing to open the Z Flip. As for the new Z Fold, leaked CAD files show the book-style foldable could be as thin as 9mm when closed and 4.54mm when unfolded. That would be seriously skinny and make the Z Fold as thick as regular non-folding phones when closed. Either way, we'll know more in a few weeks. Stay tuned!

Samsung really wants you to think of the Galaxy Z Fold 7 as an 'Ultra' device, whatever that means
The Galaxy Z Fold 7 is certainly going to be an exceptional device, as long as it improves on performance and offers as thin a build as Samsung says it will. To hype the phone up, Samsung keeps using the word "Ultra" when referring to the Galaxy Z Fold 7, even though it appears nowhere in the phone's actual branding. The "Ultra" appears in Samsung's newest teaser trailer. The video simply shows two thin slabs, animated to incredibly familiar music. The slabs split into two portions of the screen, and one takes on the silhouette of the Galaxy Z Fold 7. The phrase "Ultra Unfolds" immediately follows. This isn't the first time Samsung has used the "Ultra" branding for the Galaxy Z Fold 7. It's appeared in previous teasers that specifically push the moniker. For some time, it was thought that Samsung would develop a Galaxy Z Fold Ultra and a Fold 7, though that rumor has largely been put to bed. Similarly, it was thought that Samsung may drop the numerical identifier and simply refer to the seventh-edition foldable as an "Ultra" variant. Thanks to plenty of reliable leakers and sources, we can assume that the next foldable from Samsung will be the Galaxy Z Fold 7. So, what makes it ultra? There are a couple of reasons Samsung could be pushing the narrative. The first one is simple, and it's that Samsung simply thinks this generational improvement is worthy of that adjective. It's supposed to measure only 9mm thick when folded, which is no small feat and puts it toe-to-toe with other record-setting devices. The other explanation, and the one we're putting a little more stock into, is that Samsung is hiding a much larger announcement. If it is, it's kept it under wraps incredibly well. Samsung could be alluding to rather large Galaxy AI announcements. So big, they have to use the term "Ultra" time and time again. Samsung clearly thinks users want more from their devices, and they'd be correct. The Galaxy Z Fold series has lost some interest over time because it felt stagnant, even if it wasn't entirely so. Introducing some groundbreaking features would go a long way in revitalizing the device line. Samsung specifically mentions Galaxy AI in one of its teasers, after noting that the company wants to bring a significantly more impressive experience to users. For years, Samsung has listened to users asking for bigger screens, better cameras and new ways to connect and create. The demand is clear -- an Ultra-experience that goes beyond a simple list of upgraded features in a smaller and more portable form factor. That's why Galaxy's next chapter is to provide an experience that seamlessly blends artistry and engineering to elevate everyday interactions. ... With industry-leading hardware, cutting-edge performance and seamless AI integration optimized for the foldable format, it's what users have come to expect from Galaxy Ultra. Samsung has offered very little in the way of details on how "Ultra" the Galaxy Z Fold 7 will be, and that's why we're picking apart teasers. This comes as Samsung has reportedly not decided on its upcoming Galaxy AI subscription. That, as a whole, is still an unknown. What we do know is that Galaxy AI will likely continue to be free for the remainder of the year. The Galaxy Z Fold 7, Z Flip 7, and Z Flip 7 FE are expected to launch on July 9. Samsung's Galaxy Reserve campaign also just opened up, which lets users sign up to reserve a pre-order spot for free. That entry gets you a $50 credit and a chance to win $5,000, so it's worth it even if you don't plan on buying the Galaxy Z Fold 7.

Forget Galaxy Fold Ultra -- here's what Samsung needs to reveal at Unpacked
For nearly the past year, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 has been one of my daily drivers. That's because it's a powerhouse that can handle my work-life balance with its excellent cameras, long battery life to get me through work, and the entertainment value it offers with its expansive 7.6-inch main display. It also works well as a desktop PC replacement thanks to Samsung DeX. Samsung's tipped to reveal a much improved version of its book-style foldable phone at its upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event on July 9. What's unusual about this year's upcoming notebook style foldable is the amount of teasers that the company has dropped so far. Not only is it expected to be one of the thinnest foldable phones around, but it's also going to be getting bigger AI camera upgrades. All of this is hyping up what's presumably going to be called the Galaxy Z Fold Ultra, but I think Samsung could be missing a huge opportunity by not doing the same for the Galaxy Z Flip 7. Here's why. Even though the Galaxy S25 Ultra is the best phone you can get, thanks to its outstanding overall performance and utility, I would love to see it transformed into a flip-style phone. If Samsung were to give the same 'ultra' treatment it's been teasing with the forthcoming Galaxy Z Fold 7, the Z Flip 7 could be the phone to beat. But it wouldn't be just taking the existing design and making it fold. Instead, it should get the same ultra-thin construction that Samsung's been teasing -- perhaps to the same degree as what I've seen with the Galaxy S25 Edge. And finally, it should get the same camera treatment consisting of a 200MP main camera, an ultrawide, and a telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom. If you've ever watched the 2013 Spike Jonze directed film "Her," then you're aware about Samantha and how it's what all of today' AI chatbots strive to become. I've been using Gemini Live ever since it debuted with the Pixel 9 series last year and I think an Ultra version of the Galaxy Z Flip 7 could finally be the perfect embodiment of Samantha. Gemini Live lets me tap my phone's camera to see what I'm seeing and ask Gemini questions. Since the Galaxy Z Flip 7 is a flip-style phone, I could see myself putting the phone in my shirt pocket in such a way that only the one half of the phone with the outer screen hangs off the sleeve. t's like how Joaquin Phoenix's character in the film carries around Samantha in his shirt pocket, giving the AI assistant access to see the world and interact with it in a more natural way. I wouldn't be able to do this with a book-style foldable phone like the Galaxy Z Fold 7. One thing that annoys me about notebook-style foldables is that they're no easier to handle, even when they're closed and just relying on their outer screens. After testing out the Motorola Razr Ultra (2025), it proves yet again how the outer screens in flip-style phones are underrated. All of today's phones are simply too big to comfortably handle with one-handed use, which is why I often default to the outer screen with my Razr Ultra (2025) when I'm waiting to reach my subway stop. The Galaxy Z Flip 7 is tipped to come with an even larger 4-inch cover screen, which I think could benefit from having full apps support by default -- rather than burying the feature. Since it would get the 'ultra' treatment, it would be even better if the camera app is unlocked to leverage more of the manual controls that's available when the phone's opened. Right now, camera controls are limited to the basics and you can't select the option to shoot in 4K. That's why it would be even better if an 'ultra' version could give me these controls and much more. In my Galaxy Z Flip 6 review, I explicitly said how I was disappointed to find out that it doesn't support Samsung DeX. The feature has proven to be a lifesaver countless times in the past year wherever I left my laptop at home, by connecting the Galaxy Z Fold 6 to my work monitor -- essentially giving me that desktop experience. I'm not hopeful that Samsung will bring it to the Galaxy Z Flip 7 either, but I think it would be an extra incentive for an Ultra model. Considering how Google has been collaborating with Samsung to bring a desktop mode with Android 16, it would be also better if Samsung upgrades DeX to be even more powerful.

Samsung confirms Unpacked stream for July 9, with Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 hopefully on deck
The company confirmed in an email to Mashable that the next Samsung Unpacked livestream will take place on Wednesday, July 9, at 10 a.m. ET. This event will take place in Brooklyn, and as usual, you can watch on Samsung's website and YouTube channel when the time comes. Samsung teased announcements that would "unveil the next evolution of Galaxy AI" and the "ever-expanding Galaxy ecosystem". Right now, all eyes are on Samsung's next-gen foldables, the Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7. And while Samsung hasn't confirmed that's what we'll be getting, we'd be surprised if that's not the focus of the event. Samsung's next round of foldables has been leaking like a runny faucet online lately. And since Samsung usually launches new foldables around this time of year, it's easy to assume the new foldables will be unveiled during this Unpacked. There could also be other hardware announcements, but foldables are the big one everyone is expecting. "With AI leading the way, Galaxy devices are evolving from reactionary smartphones to anticipatory smart companions - transforming how we communicate, create, and connect," Samsung's email said. That's the only tidbit Samsung provided regarding what we should expect from the stream. In other words, there will be plenty of Galaxy AI talk. At least we have a date now. All that remains is to wait.

Samsung's next Unpacked is official, and an "Ultra" foldable might be coming
Unpacked is set for July 9, and Samsung might just change the foldable game. After weeks of rumors, leaks, and speculation, on Monday, Samsung finally locked in the official date for its next Galaxy Unpacked: July 9, 2025, at 10 a.m. Eastern in Brooklyn, New York. Just as rumors speculated, the in-person event will indeed take place in Brooklyn, New York. Similar to every other Unpacked event, you'll be able to livestream the event on Samsung's official website or its YouTube channel. The Korea-based giant launched its flagship S25 series during the January Unpacked and followed up with the S25 Edge (which it considers a flagship as well) during a May Unpacked event. And though the company hasn't explicitly name-dropped the products it plans to announce during the event, all signs point toward new foldables and possibly updates to the Galaxy Watch line. Traditionally, Samsung announces its new Flip and Fold models during the summer Unpacked event, and this year is expected to follow suit. So, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Galaxy Z Fold 7 are almost certain to take the spotlight. Samsung shared three separate teasers in June, all hinting at a new era of foldables. Leaks and teasers both suggest that 2025's Z Fold series will sport thinner designs than ever. What stands out is this bit from a press release Samsung posted on June 9: "This year, that journey reaches a new milestone. The newest Galaxy Z series is the thinnest, lightest, and most advanced foldable yet - meticulously crafted and built to last." Thinner phones are no surprise in 2025, though. We've seen Samsung's own S25 Edge, and the iPhone 17 Air is expected to launch this fall. Here's the exciting bit: there may be more than just two foldables on deck. The first teaser, posted on June 3 on Samsung's Newsroom, was titled "Meet the Next Chapter of Ultra," and focused on how an "Ultra experience" in a "smaller and more portable form factor" is what people have been demanding. The tech giant hinted that that's exactly what it's working toward and ended it with: "The Ultra experience is ready to unfold." Traditionally, Samsung has used the Ultra branding for its most feature-packed and premium flagships, like the Galaxy S25 Ultra. So, if the teasers are anything to go by, the upcoming Unpacked could mark the debut of Samsung's first-ever Ultra-branded foldable, signaling a more premium and powerful take on the Z Fold lineup. The fifteen-second Galaxy Unpacked teaser seems to support that theory, too, and ends with the bold statement: "Ultra Unfolds." Speaking of the Unpacked teaser, it begins with a profile view of a device that sports a noticeably thin frame. The foldable aspect then sneaks in, with a beam of light slicing through the middle. Two halves (presumably of a phone) split apart, reunite at the corners, and the bottom half then unfolds like a book, likely hinting at the Z Fold 7 or possibly the rumored Ultra foldable. At the same time, it's entirely possible that the Z Fold 7 and the so-called Ultra foldable are the same device, and that Samsung is simply adjusting its naming convention to better reflect the device's premium positioning. Other than foldables, leaks also speculate that Samsung will announce an updated smartwatch, the Galaxy Watch 8, which is expected to sport a redesigned display. Samsung might also shed more light on Project Moohan, the codename for its upcoming headset powered by Android XR. We'll surely also hear about Galaxy AI, which was mentioned in the official Unpacked July announcement. If you have even the slightest thought of purchasing one of the devices Samsung is expected to announce, the tech giant is offering a $50 credit simply for providing your name and email address ahead of the launch event. Though you won't be able to use the credit toward purchasing a pre-order device, you can put it toward additional eligible products (select Buds, Watches, Tablets, or Galaxy Ring).

Samsung officially teases new 'Ultra' triple foldable and Unpacked Event date
As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases. TweakTown may also earn commissions from other affiliate partners at no extra cost to you. Samsung has confirmed it will be hosting an Unpacked event on July 9, where it will be unveiling, presumably, its latest Galaxy devices. The Samsung event will be held in Brooklyn, New York, beginning at 10:00 a.m. ET / 7 a.m. PT. As with all of Samsung's Unpacked events, it will be livestreamed on Samsung's YouTube channel and website. Unsurprisingly, Samsung didn't reveal any details about what it will be unveiling at the event, but we can assume it will be the company's Galaxy Z Flip and Z Fold foldable, as the video the company shared features the text "Ultra Unfolds." Additionally, the teaser video suggests that whatever these new devices are will be super thin, presumably thinner than the current Z Flip 6 and Z Fold 6. As with all of Samsung's devices, we can expect whatever new Ultra smartphones the company unveils it will feature the latest cutting-edge technology, and presumably the recently unveiled Exynos 2500 chipset, which features 4K at 120Hz support, 320MP camera image processing sensor, 8K at 30FPS support, and big improvements to AI capabilities. It's possible the event will be the official unveiling of the rumored Samsung tri-fold smartphone, as the video briefly shows a triple display. This device is rumored to be called the "Galaxy G Fold" and feature a G-shaped folding mechanism with both inward folding sections protecting the main display. "The next-generation Galaxy devices are being reimagined around a new AI-powered interface, supported by breakthrough hardware built to unlock their full potential. This future is already unfolding, and the best of Galaxy AI and Samsung craftsmanship is about to be unveiled," writes Samsung in its press release

Samsung confirms Unpacked event for July 9: expect the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Galaxy Z Flip 7, more
As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases. TweakTown may also earn commissions from other affiliate partners at no extra cost to you. Samsung has officially confirmed its next Unpacked event will kick off on July 9, where we should be introduced to the new Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 foldable smartphones. The second Unpacked event for 2025 will be held in New York City on July 9 at 10 AM ET / 7 AM PT, where the stream will be made available on both Samsung's YouTube channel, and on its website. We should expect not only the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 foldable smartphones, but new wearables, including the Galaxy Watch 8 series and the new Galaxy Watch Ultra 2025... while I'm hoping for a peek at the new Galaxy G Fold tri-fold handset. We should also expect to see Samsung show off new software and AI features at its Unpacked event, and hopefully, the stable release of One UI 8. Samsung's new fleet of Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 foldable smartphones are also expected to ship with Android 16 out of the box. Samsung has teased announcements coming that will "unveil the next evolution of Galaxy AI" and the "ever-expanding Galaxy ecosystem". An expansion of the Galaxy ecosystem -- at least to me -- would be a new tri-fold "Galaxy G Fold" foldable smartphone, and not just refreshes of the Galaxy Z Fold and Galaxy Z Flip families of smartphones. Samsung said in its email: "With AI leading the way, Galaxy devices are evolving from reactionary smartphones to anticipatory smart companions - transforming how we communicate, create, and connect".

Galaxy Unpacked 2025 rumored for July 9, new Samsung foldables coming - Phandroid
Samsung's next big launch event is now just weeks away. According to a leak from Evan Blass, Galaxy Unpacked 2025 is scheduled for July 9, kicking off at 10AM EST (7AM PST). The event is expected to take place in New York, and if the rumors hold up, it could mark one of Samsung's most interesting foldable refreshes in years. The Galaxy Z Flip 7 might be ditching Qualcomm this year. Reports suggest Samsung could use its in-house Exynos 2500 chipset for its Flip 7 models instead of the usual Snapdragon 8 Elite chip. That's an interesting move, especially for a premium foldable. The Fold 7, on the other hand, is still expected to stick with Snapdragon across the board. This is similar to last year's lineup. Both new foldables are also expected to rely heavily on Galaxy AI. It builds on the momentum Samsung started with the Galaxy S24 series. A recent leak suggests that buyers may even get a free trial or subscription to Google's AI Pro service, which would introduce more advanced features like enhanced summarization, real-time translation, or smart editing tools into the mix. Alongside the phones, Samsung is also rumored to unveil three new smartwatches at its Galaxy Unpacked 2025 event. This includes the Galaxy Watch 8, Watch 8 Classic, and an updated Galaxy Watch Ultra. Take it with a grain of salt, but hopefully, Samsung will start sending out invites soon.

Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2025 confirmed for July 9 in New York - Phandroid
Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2025 is officially locked in for July 9. The event will be held in Brooklyn, New York, starting at 10AM ET, and streamed live on Samsung's website and YouTube channel. Evan Blass leaked the date last week, and he was spot on. Samsung hasn't confirmed exactly which devices will show up, but the teaser makes it clear that AI is taking center stage. The company says these next-gen Galaxy products are being built around a new AI-powered interface and new hardware that's meant to push things even further. The video ends with the words "Ultra Unfolds," which has sparked speculation about a foldable Ultra model. But for now, most signs point to a lineup that includes the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Galaxy Z Flip 7, a more affordable Z Flip 7 FE, and the Galaxy Watch 8 series. In the meantime, Samsung is already letting users reserve their spot for the upcoming devices. There's no payment required to reserve, just an email address. If you do, you'll get $50 in Samsung Credit plus a shot at up to $1,150 in additional savings. You'll also be entered into a sweepstakes for a chance to win $5,000 in Samsung Credit. Whether you're planning to upgrade or just curious to see what's next, July 9 is shaping up to be a big day for Galaxy fans.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7, Z Flip 7, and Watch 8: Rumor Roundup Before Unpacked 2025 - Phandroid
With Galaxy Unpacked set for July 9, Samsung is gearing up to unveil its latest generation of foldables and wearables. Leaks and certifications have already painted a fairly clear picture of what to expect from the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Galaxy Z Flip 7, and Galaxy Watch 8. If you're considering an upgrade, now's the perfect time to catch up on what's coming. Samsung appears to be going all-in on refinement this year. The Galaxy Z Fold 7 is rumored to be the thinnest and lightest Fold yet, possibly measuring as slim as 3.9mm when unfolded. Leaked renders show a sleeker hinge design and rounder corners that better match the look of the Galaxy S25 series. The device is expected to sport an 8-inch inner display and a 6.5-inch outer screen with support for ProScaler and a peak brightness of 2,600 nits. Under the hood, the Z Fold 7 should run on the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor and include 12GB of RAM with up to 1TB of storage. While the battery may remain unchanged at 4,400mAh, the more efficient chipset could still improve battery life. The biggest leap might come from the camera setup, which could include a 200MP main sensor borrowed from the Galaxy S25 Ultra. Samsung may also introduce a redesigned S Pen, although rumors are split on whether the Fold 7 will still support stylus input. Expect the starting price to stay at $1,899, same as last year. However, quantities may be more limited, so pre-orders could go quickly. Samsung's clamshell foldable is also expected to get some notable improvements. The Galaxy Z Flip 7 will reportedly increase its cover display size to 4 inches, up from 3.4 inches, making it significantly more usable when closed. The internal display might also grow slightly to 6.85 inches. Both screens are expected to maintain a 120Hz refresh rate for smooth performance, though the outer display may still be capped at 60Hz. The biggest internal upgrade could be the new Exynos 2500 chipset, although some regions might receive the Snapdragon 8 Elite instead. RAM and storage configurations are likely to remain the same, with 12GB of RAM and either 256GB or 512GB of storage. On the downside, camera hardware may remain unchanged, featuring a 50MP main, 12MP ultra-wide, and 10MP front shooter. However, improvements to Samsung's ProVisual Engine could help deliver better results from the same sensors. Battery life should see a boost thanks to a bump in capacity to 4,300mAh. This addresses one of the most common complaints about the Flip series, especially for heavy users. The price is expected to match last year's starting point of around $999. Samsung's next smartwatch series, including the Galaxy Watch 8 and Watch 8 Classic, is shaping up to deliver a smarter, more health-focused experience. Leaks suggest the Watch 8 Classic will blend the design of the Watch 6 Classic with the Watch Ultra, featuring a "squircle" case and a physical rotating bezel. The 46mm Classic will include a 1.5-inch display, and both models will run the new One UI 8 Watch software. Internally, Samsung is expected to use the Exynos W1000 chip, paired with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. Other expected specs include 10W fast charging, IP68 water and dust resistance, and MIL-STD-810H durability. Health tracking sees a big upgrade with features like vascular load monitoring, antioxidant index tracking, and an AI-powered health coach. Samsung has also confirmed Gemini integration, which will bring advanced AI features to Wear OS, including smart suggestions, inbox summaries, and real-time voice queries. Pricing remains unclear, but it will likely follow previous launches, putting the standard model in the $300-$350 range and the Classic model closer to $400. If you're thinking about upgrading, Samsung has already opened reservations for its upcoming devices. By reserving now, you'll receive a $50 Samsung Credit and become eligible for up to $1,150 in additional savings when you purchase. Plus, all reservations are automatically entered into a sweepstakes to win a massive $5,000 Samsung Credit.
