The Galaxy S25's Now Briefs could come to older Samsung flagships soon
7 One UI 7 features that make me feel like I'm missing out as a Galaxy S23 owner Summary The Galaxy S25 series debuted with One UI 7, including the 'Now Bar' and the Galaxy AI-powered 'Now Brief' feature, which provides a personalized daily summary. Recent findings in the One UI 7 beta indicate that the settings for Now Brief are accessible on older Galaxy devices like the S24, S23, Z Fold 6, Z Flip 6, and even the S10 series, suggesting a potential expansion. While Now Brief isn't currently functional on these older devices, the stable release of One UI 7 starting on April 7th is expected to provide more clarity on its wider availability. Samsung unveiled its latest Galaxy S25 series earlier this year in January. The new flagships subsequently landed in February with the long-delayed Android 15-based One UI 7 pre-installed. Not only does the new operating system (OS) bring better widget customization options, separate notification and Quick Settings menus, and more AI tools, it also brings a new Apple Live Activities-like UI element called the 'Now Bar.' Related One UI 7 with Android 15 lands on Samsung's Galaxy phones starting April 7 The long-delayed update gets an official release date Posts Now Bar is a dynamically changing UI element that highlights live notifications, music, modes, real-time sports updates, and more. The Now Bar also highlights One UI 7's Now Brief feature, which provides users with personalized information based on their lifestyle. This can include information about sleep patterns and energy levels, important wallet-related and birthday reminders, reminders about upcoming schedules and missed calls, weather updates, and more. Now Brief is a Galaxy AI feature, and while we knew that One UI 7 would bring the dynamic UI element to older Samsung devices, the same couldn't be said about Now Brief -- at least up until now. Newly found information within the latest One UI 7 beta suggests that Now Brief might actually expand beyond the Galaxy S25 series. Beta holds clues, while stable likely holds the key Related 7 One UI 7 features that make me feel like I'm missing out as a Galaxy S23 owner Samsung's UI update can't come soon enough Posts 4 X (Twitter) user @MEMETCAN88 found that the settings panel for Now Brief is available on their Galaxy S24 series device running One UI 7 beta 6. Although not visible at first, the user was able to uncover the feature using an Activity Launcher. Following the same steps, the folks over at SamMobile found that the Now Brief settings panel is also available on the Galaxy S23 series, the Galaxy Z Fold 6, the Galaxy Z Flip 6, and the Galaxy S10 series. The 'Now brief settings' page on older devices looks exactly the same as it does on the Galaxy S25 series, complete with an option to toggle 'content to include.' The image below, for example, shows the same menu on a Galaxy Z Flip 6. Source: SamMobile Although Now Brief is not functional on older devices for now, we should have more clarity surrounding the Galaxy AI-powered feature's potential expansion once One UI 7 begins rolling out in stable on April 7 (April 10 in the US). For reference, the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy Z Fold 6, and the Galaxy Z Flip 6 are first in line to receive the update. The rollout will expand to these devices in the following weeks: Galaxy S23, S23 Plus, and S23 Ultra. Galaxy S23 FE. Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5. Galaxy Tab S10 and Tab S9 series tablets. Samsung Galaxy S25's best AI feature just tipped to launch on these older Samsung phones
One of the big new features to arrive on the Galaxy S25 series is the AI-powered Now Brief -- a tool that offers a personalized summary of your day. So far this feature is part of the One UI 7 operating system, and only available on the Galaxy S25 lineup -- but that might be about to change. Over on X, @MEMETCAN88 found a setting relating to Now Brief in their Galaxy S24 Ultra -- which is running OneUI 7 beta 6. The feature is apparently hidden, but they were able to uncover it with the phone's activity launcher. SamMobile was later able to find the same settings panel on the Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy Z Fold 6, Galaxy Z Flip 6 and even the Galaxy S10. Considering the age of the Galaxy S10 smartphone, I can only assume that SamMobile means the Galaxy Tab S10, which was released last year. Now Brief is a personalized hub of information, designed to give you tailored updates and info throughout the day -- with the content changing depending on what time it is. So in the morning you'll get things like sleep information, the day's weather, breaking news or information about your upcoming commute. So if there's traffic or significant delays, Now Brief is designed to warn you, and make sure you know to leave early. The information will change throughout the day, and the evening Brief will do the exact opposite -- breaking down your day's activities and making sure you're ready to sleep. Now Brief is able to work across the Samsung mobile ecosystem, accessing relevant apps and learning about your behavior over time. The Now Bar, which lives on the lock screen, will also aid this, displaying priority notifications and time-sensitive information based on what the AI knows of you and your schedule. Now Brief doesn't seem to be functional on older devices right now, so the settings menu is likely just a placeholder for now. However ,the placeholder suggests that the feature should be arriving with the release of One UI 7, which is currently only available on Galaxy S25 devices. The rollout of One UI 7 to older phones is set to begin on April 7 in the majority of countries, but the U.S. rollout won't begin until April 10. The first phones scheduled to get the long-awaited update are the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6. In the weeks after that initial rollout, it's been confirmed that the update will also land on the Galaxy S23 series (including Galaxy S23 FE), Galaxy Z Fold 5, Galaxy Z Flip 5, Galaxy Tab S10 and Galaxy Tab S9. So those of you clamoring to try Now Brief out for yourselves, but don't want to upgrade to the Galaxy S25 series, you probably don't have that long to wait.

Samsung Galaxy S25's best AI feature could be coming to your older Galaxy phone soon
There's no user interface so the fetaure can't be used properly For many, the best new Samsung Galaxy S25 feature is Now Brief, but for a while it appeared the feature would remain exclusive to only Samsung's latest phone release even as One UI 1 rolls out to other phones. Thankfully, it seems like a few older phones will get Now Brief after all. Now Brief is a handy AI tool that gets you prepped for the day ahead with useful info like what events you have today, what journey times are like so you can avoid being late, how well rested you are based on data from your smartwatch, and if coupons in your digital wallet are close to expiring. It'll even give you different briefings based on when you check (with morning, afternoon and evening briefings focusing on different information), and our own Senior Writer AI John-Anthony Disotto calling Now Brief "precisely the kind of first-party functionality that I think will make a real difference to users' lives and, in turn, showcase the true power of AI." Unfortunately the feature has been absent from the One UI 7 software betas currently available for older devices such as the Samsung Galaxy S24, Galaxy S23, Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 phones. This has led many to believe it wouldn't be unlocked for these phones, but it turns out Now Brief is hidden in the One UI beta after all. That's according to @MEMETCAN88 who managed to access the hidden function on an S24 running the latest One UI 7 beta (via SamMobile, who confirmed it's also available on other devices). It didn't work completely however, with the hidden Now Brief lacking the necessary user interface to function properly. So, what does this mean? Well the optimistic amongst us are hoping it means that Now Brief will make it to older devices. However, given the full release is set to begin on April 7, it may be a feature that isn't released for a few update cycles. The more pessimistic look is that Samsung has hidden this feature because it may have thought about releasing Now Brief but ultimately decided to keep it exclusive to its new phones - and it was easier to hide Now Brief than completely remove it from One UI 7. We'll have to wait and see what's announced as One UI 7 arrives on older phones and in following updates, but there's still a chance the best Samsung Galaxy S25 feature will make its way to older phones - and we're seriously hoping it does.

You're locked out from using a top feature in latest Galaxy S24 software
An examination of the latest beta version of Samsung's One UI 7 software tested on the Galaxy S24 series has revealed a top feature has been locked away inside, leaving it unable to be used at this time. The feature is the Now Bar, which works a little like Apple's Dynamic Island, except it lives at the bottom of the lock screen. The feature is included in the beta version of One UI 7 for the Galaxy S24 series, but it's not available for use by anyone who installs the software at this time, according to Sam Mobile. It claims the Now Bar is part of the software, but access is restricted. However, if you're willing to dig around inside the software using an app designed to reveal hidden features, the Now Bar is there for all to see. Its presence suggests the feature may be activated when One UI 7 is publicly released for the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra. Recommended Videos The Now Bar is tied to the Now Brief feature, which is part of Samsung's Galaxy AI software suite. The pair were hyped up for the Galaxy S25 series, and shown off in detail during the launch presentation, with the promise both would help organize your life and streamline your phone use. In reality, neither have quite fulfilled that promise yet. For Now Brief, you need to have a busy calendar and use your phone for everything for it to be an essential, while the Now Bar is hampered by limited third-party app support. Samsung is working on improving the amount of apps that work with the Now Bar, which will help make it more useful. The Now Bar itself is well-designed and works smoothly on the lockscreen, where it shows timers, music information, and other Samsung app data. It was feared Samsung would hold the Now Brief and Now Bar back for the Galaxy S25 series alone, but its presence inside the latest One UI 7 beta suggests it may bring at least this part of Galaxy AI to older models. If it does, it opens the door for other Samsung mobile devices with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, and other Galaxy devices released in 2024. We don't have long until we find out if the Now Bar will be part of the full One UI 7 release, as Samsung will start sending it out to the Galaxy S24 series, the Galaxy Z Fold 6, and Galaxy Z Flip 6 from April 7.

Samsung may bring Now Brief to more Galaxy smartphones
Samsung's popular new AI tool, Now Brief, might soon make its way beyond the Galaxy S25 to older models like the Galaxy S24. While Samsung hasn't officially confirmed this yet, recent software clues suggest the company could roll out the handy AI assistant to a wider range of Galaxy devices. X user MEMETCAN88 (via Android Authority) discovered that Now Brief was accessible on a Galaxy S24 phone by way of the activity launcher when using the One UI 7 beta. Further, additional users (via SamMobile) were able to access it with phones like the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S10, Galaxy Z Fold 6, and Galaxy Z Flip 6. Recommended Videos Interestingly, Samsung's support page mentions: "Now Brief feature requires Samsung Account login. Service availability may vary by country, language, device model, apps. Some features may require a network connection." The open-ended wording around "device model" suggests Now Brief isn't intended to remain exclusive to just the latest Galaxy S25. Adding fuel to speculation, early versions of Samsung's upcoming One UI 7 update for the Galaxy S24 have already shown hidden references to Now Brief. These features aren't functional yet, but their mere existence signals Samsung might be preparing older models for Now Brief support. Now Brief works like your personal daily assistant, right on your home screen. Each morning, it greets you with personalized updates including weather forecasts, calendar events, and even health or sleep data collected from connected wearables. Throughout the day, it sends helpful reminders, alerts about expiring discounts, or notifications about upcoming meetings, all neatly tailored to your routine. By evening, it compiles a short recap summarizing your day's highlights, simplifying everyday tasks without needing to dig through multiple apps. Samsung hasn't offered any clarity on the matter just yet, but Galaxy S24 users eager to access Now Brief's convenient, AI-powered briefings could soon get their wish -- likely as long as their phones meet Gemini Nano's requirements.
