Samsung teases new Bixby and AI features ahead of Galaxy S25 event [Video]
After opening up the Samsung Galaxy Reserve program for the Galaxy S25, Samsung is trading a new and improved Bixby prior to the Unpacked event in a couple of weeks. When the Galaxy S24 series launched at the beginning of 2024, One UI 6 brought on a lot of changes that swirled around the premise of new AI improvements. The interesting part about that push was the absence of Buxby, Samsung's long-running proprietary digital assistant. For one reason or another, the company left the assistant out and offered users plenty of Gemini integration. Samsung released a teaser trailer today featuring the absent assistant's voice. The video starts out with a shot of several Galaxy S25 phones arranged so that light shining through the cracks resembles the Galaxy AI symbol. With that, a familiar mic appears on the screen with a voice that asks, "Hey, when is the Samsung Galaxy Unpacked?" The mic icon is the nail in the coffin, pointing to a prominent Bixby return on the Galaxy S25 with some likely improvements. This comes as a new and improved Bixby was showcased in China on the exclusive W25 series. That version is supposedly able to pull video into requests and understand "complex user intentions." It sounds as though Bixby is becoming a little more sentient in the push towards a fuller AI experience. Unlike how Google approached an AI assistant with a different moniker and app, Samsung seems to be simply changing how Bixby is represented on Samsung devices and the Galaxy S25. This might prove to be a good move as most users are already familiar with the assistant. The video also confirms what we already know -- Samsung Unpacked 2025 will be on January 22. Prior to that, Samsung is currently running the Galaxy Reserve program, which offers a $50 credit towards the Galaxy S25 series if you sign up for free. The best part is that it doubles as an entry into a sweepstakes to win $5,000.

The latest Samsung Galaxy S25 leak promises lots of brand-new AI features
The Galaxy S25 is rumored to come with lots of new AI featuresDetails of these features don't appear to have leaked yetFour new phones are due to launch later this month We're patiently counting down the days to the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S25 - Wednesday, January 22 is rumored to be the big day - and a fresh leak around the handset suggests there are plenty more AI features arriving with the new phone. This comes from @UniverseIce, who is right about mobile industry predictions more often than not. The tipster says the Galaxy S25 "will tell Apple what leading AI is" and that "many new AI functions of S25 have not been leaked so far". Of course, it wouldn't come as a surprise if Samsung introduced new AI features at the same time as its flagship phones for 2025 - it's been busy pushing Galaxy AI for the past year, after launching a range of features alongside the Galaxy S24 handsets. But the mention of a lot of as-yet-unrevealed AI features is intriguing. What could Samsung be planning to add to its handsets for 2025, on top of what we've already heard about (the upgraded version of Bixby, for example)? Samsung has already covered a lot of the obvious ground when it comes to AI. You can already create AI images and get live translations between languages on the Samsung phones that are currently available, for example. That makes it difficult to predict what this leak could be talking about - especially as it specifies that the Galaxy S25 rumors haven't previously covered it. More camera enhancements are a possibility, as are more text creation tools. We could potentially get more AI agent features, in terms of tools that actually take control of your phone and do jobs for you - like queueing up a Spotify playlist or ordering an Uber. There may also be features to help you better manage your digital information. Samsung has already said that One UI 7 (Samsung's take on Android 15) will be launching alongside the Galaxy S25 phones, which may well have some AI upgrades included - and which could eventually make their way to older handsets as well.

Samsung's Galaxy S25 might introduce new AI features that competitors haven't conceived yet
Samsung's making a last-ditch effort to ensure its Galaxy S25 series underperforms in some markets Summary Existing Galaxy AI features are expected to make a return with the Galaxy S25 series, alongside new additions. Leaks indicate that Samsung aims to advance Galaxy AI with features beyond current competitors, showing 'Apple what leading AI is.' Speculation points towards new AI features for photo/video capture and editing, along with AI-driven task automation (e.g., booking flights, ordering food), similar to rumored Android 16 features. ✕ Remove Ads Samsung's S25 series is reportedly set to be revealed in a little over three weeks -- on January 22, if leaks and rumors are to be believed. From what we already know, just like the Pixel 9 series, buyers of the Galaxy S25 series could receive a free trial of Gemini Advanced. The promotion makes sense, considering that the upcoming series is expected to be an AI powerhouse -- and thanks to the Snapdragon 8 Elite's significant performance and efficiency gains, the series is expected to perform a lot of these actions directly on-device. Related Samsung's Galaxy S25 might do more AI on your phone, not in the cloud Generative editing sans internet access Posts ✕ Remove Ads We're expecting familiar Galaxy AI features that we've come to love to maintain their spot in the upcoming series. These include the likes of Note Assist, Interpreter, Live Translate, Magic Compose, photo editing tools, and many more. However, it looks like Samsung might take Galaxy AI a step further with the S25 series, with features that its competitors haven't likely conceived yet -- essentially reducing its reliance on Google's AI smarts. Credible leaker @UniverseIce suggested on X (Twitter) that the S25 series will "tell Apple what leading AI is," clearly alluding that the South Korean tech giant is cooking something that will leave competitors like Apple Intelligence in the dust. The wait ends this month "Many new AI functions of S25 have not been leaked so far, which is very surprising to me," added the leaker, suggesting that we are either in line for a trove of AI leaks in the coming weeks, or we're going into Unpacked not knowing what to expect on the AI side. ✕ Remove Ads This is speculation, but knowing Samsung, it's very plausible that it will introduce new AI features for capturing photos and videos, and connected ones to edit them. The tech giant might also introduce a feature that lets AI control your device and complete tasks for you, like booking flights or ordering food -- something similar to what Google already seems to be working on for Android 16. Whether these new features will trickle down to older Samsung flagships is up for debate. Related Android 16 might let Gemini order food for you It's the assistant we always wanted Posts ✕ Remove Ads

Samsung Galaxy S25 leak teases new AI features
What AI features are being cooked up in Samsung's lab? Credit: Getty Images Samsung is allegedly not done adding AI features into its flagship phones. That's according to prolific (and often correct) leaker Ice Universe on X, via Tech Radar. This latest leak suggests that Samsung is about to one-up Apple Intelligence in some nondescript way. According to Ice Universe, some of the new features haven't even been leaked yet, so they might be total surprises if/when Samsung announces them alongside the new Galaxy S25 phones, slated to launch sometime this month. That's about all there is to this leak, unfortunately. Ice Universe didn't tease what some of these new, allegedly unleaked features might be. As with most AI features on smartphones, it wouldn't be shocking if they were related to photography or text generation in some way. The last batch of Galaxy AI features, announced last summer, included ways to turn selfies into AI portraits and language translation tools, among other things. For these ones, though, we'll just have to wait. Either until Samsung announces them officially, or someone decides to leak them ahead of time.

Samsung's Teasing a Rather Big Launch Soon - Phandroid
CES 2025 is finally underway, and we're seeing some pretty interesting product previews from a lot of brands left and right, who are preparing to launch new products in the coming weeks and months. Not to be outdone, Samsung is teasing something pretty big, and while the company wasn't exactly clear about what it's revealing, you can bet that it has something to do with the Galaxy S series. READ: Galaxy S25 could come with more advanced AI features for free Given that the Samsung Galaxy S25 phones are due to arrive early this year, there's speculation that Samsung might give us more details about its upcoming handsets soon. Also expected are updates to its Galaxy AI software features, something that the company has been marketing pretty heavily lately. Samsung US will also start opening reservation offers for folks who pre-order the new Galaxy devices early, and buyers can reserve a $50 credit toward a new Galaxy device during the pre-order period in addition to a chance to win a $5,000 Samsung gift card. Buyers can also receive up to an additional $900 credit if you trade in an eligible device, and an additional $300 instant credit for a total of up to $1,250 in total savings for pre-orders. The promo runs until January 22.

Samsung Galaxy S25's answer to Apple Intelligence may include free Gemini Advanced
The Samsung Galaxy S25 already figures to come loaded with AI features when it debuts as soon as this month, with Samsung looking to build on the Galaxy AI tools it launched last year. But Samsung could turn to outside help to sweeten the AI pot in the form of free access to Google's Gemini Advanced AI models. Specifically, Android Authority reports that an APK teardown found code in a Google app beta which suggest free trial subscriptions for the new Galaxy S25 models. That would allow people buying one of Samsung's new flagships to take advantage of the more advanced AI models available through Google's AI tool. It's not unheard of for phones to include Gemini Advanced access. The Google Pixel 9 Pro models released last year include a year subscription to Gemini Advanced, for example. Samsung may be taking a more staggered approach to Gemini Advanced access, at least based on the code snippets that have been discovered. Those snippets include different trial periods for Gemini Advanced, fueling speculation that different models will get free access for different lengths of time. Under this scenario, Android Authority reports, the Galaxy S25 would feature a three-month trial while the Galaxy S25 Plus would be eligible for six months of Gemini Advanced access. The Galaxy S25 Ultra would apparently feature a full year trial to the AI service. AI has been a big focus for phone makers as of late, and Samsung has been one of the major players behind that effort. Last year's Galaxy S24 launch included the introduction of Galaxy AI tools aimed at image generation, writing features and other AI-powered features. Galaxy AI has subsequently rolled out to older Samsung flagships, while the mid-year launch of Samsung's latest foldables added to the array of Galaxy AI capabilities. Galaxy AI figures to be a major part of the Galaxy S25 launch, too, with rumors pointing to the Bixby digital assistant gaining more AI powers. The inclusion of Gemini Advanced access would further add to the AI feature set available on Samsung's new phones. It would also be seen as a counterpunch to Apple's efforts with Apple Intelligence, which added ChatGPT integration with last month's iOS 18.2 update. Samsung hasn't announced plans for a Galaxy S25 launch, though past flagship announcements have taken place in the early part of the year. The Galaxy S24 launch took place in January 2024, for example. To that end, rumors indicate that the Galaxy Unpacked 2025 event is set to take place on January 22. If so, you'd expect that Samsung will issue invitations to that event shortly. And that will bring us one step closer to finding out if Gemini Advanced will be a part of the Galaxy S25's feature set.

Leaker Claims Samsung Galaxy S25's AI Capabiltiies Will Be Far Superior Than Apple Intelligence
With the Galaxy Unpacked 2025 not being far away, many speculations have emerged so far about the upcoming S25 models and what new features the series will bring about. While we are expecting the company to bring in significant innovations, given how last year with the foldable phones it did not leave a lasting impression, the company is adamant to change that this time around. While several reports have given quite a few details so far about the hardware, we have sparse information when it comes to the new AI capabilities to be incorporated in the lineup. Now, a renowned leakier asserts that the new models are determined to give tough competition to Apple on AI front. Samsung is focusing on pushing boundaries when it comes to its on-device AI features and functionality and working on bringing back its A- game. Not only is it working on bringing forward a more ergonomic design for its Ultra with rounded edges for a comfortable hold, it is also improving the camera module by going for a more flushed look this time around, It is however, the AI-centric advancements that users are more excited about. While many features have been given away through various reports, there is still limited information about the AI features Samsung has in store that could possibly help it take the lead and even take on Apple, or so a tipster claims. As per renowned tipster Ice Universe, Samsung is very aggressively approaching AI and bringing in some significant upgrades in hardware and software that would help set it apart from the competition. The leaker suggests that the South Korean tech giant with its increasing focus on on-device AI could go beyond Apple's offering and with its S25 series and set an example for the rest about pushing AI boundaries. As per his post on X, while there are still many AI functions that the leaks have not given away making their way to the S25 series, especially on the S25 Ultra, Samsung's aggressive push for AI processing being the next big thing could help it become the leader for AI integration on its devices. Another leaker Evanverse, although relatively new and not as widely recognized, replied to the post with his perspective on both tech giants' current approach to AI, and suggested that Apple is taking a more cautious approach when it comes to Apple Intelligence and is not as ambitious as Galaxy AI so far. He even expressed that Samsung is not slacking when it comes to its S25 series and is working hard on the software end especially. It seems to be that the Galaxy S25 series have garnered quite the attention prior to its release with users anticipating major Ai-driven features making their way to the series especially with Bixby becoming smarter and more contextually aware. The company is determined to set the S25 apart from not just previous generations but also possibly surpass the competition. With the Unpacked event 2025 coming close, more insights on what to expect from the upcoming models could emerge.

Galaxy S25 could come with more advanced AI features for free - Phandroid
Later this month, Samsung is expected to officially announce the Galaxy S25 series. It's safe to assume that AI will be one of the highlight features of the lineup this year, and there might be some good news on that front. It turns out that maybe some of these advanced AI features could be free for the Galaxy S25 series. This is according to a report from Android Authority which did an APK teardown on the Google app. During the teardown, there are several references made to free AI for the Galaxy S25. Interestingly enough, it isn't related to Samsung's own Galaxy AI, but rather it mentions Google's Gemini model. Also, before you get too excited, these free advanced features aren't permanent. It seems that Samsung and Google just want to give users a taste or a trial period to Gemini Advanced. Presumably Google hopes that you will enjoy it enough to pay for a subscription to it. Another interesting discovery is that the duration of the trial could vary from device to device. The APK teardown reveals strings that mention how this trial could last anywhere from 3 months up to a year. Maybe the Galaxy S25 Ultra could get the year's free subscription, while the base model only gets 3 months. Either way, we'll find out soon enough.

The upcoming Samsung Galaxy S25 phones may come with this major AI upgrade for free
A new leak reveals Google will offer a $200+ bonus to customers who purchase a new Samsung phone. Samsung will almost certainly be revealing its Galaxy S25 lineup in less than a month. While the company's latest phone will reportedly bring a new design, an upgraded camera, and more, it might also bring a surprise perk -- a free Gemini Advanced subscription. While running an APK teardown of the latest version of the Google app, a process that involves diving deep into code to predict upcoming features, Android Authority noticed several indications that Galaxy S25 might include a free subscription to the paid version of Google's AI. Also: T-Mobile users can try Starlink's satellite service for free - here's how "Your device gives you access to a {one}-year subscription to Gemini Advanced," the code read, "with access to our most capable AI models, at no cost." There were also lines of code for nine-month, six-month, and three-month subscriptions. At least for the year-long trial, that's a value of more than $200. Several other mentions of "Samsung" or "Samsung S25" appear throughout the app, tying this offer directly to Samsung's upcoming release. It seems likely that the different tiers are tied to different phone models. Google previously made a similar offer available to customers who purchased a Pixel 9. Also: The next big HDMI leap is coming next week - what the 2.2 standard means for you If you're not familiar, Gemini Advanced is a paid upgrade of Gemini, Google's own AI. The service, which usually costs $20 a month, gives you access to a much more powerful version of the AI that can generate images, understand more complex questions, give better responses, let you build custom AI experts, and give you previews of Google's experimental models. While Gemini Advanced is currently only available with a Google One subscription -- which also includes 2TB of cloud storage, advanced Google Photos editing features, a VPN for multiple devices, and more -- there's no indication that the Samsung offer includes Google One. We'll likely learn more when Galaxy Unpacked happens on Jan. 22.

Galaxy S25 Series could offer free Gemini Advanced subscription
The Samsung Galaxy S25 series is set to be unveiled at a Galaxy Unpacked event in January 2025. While details remain under wraps, several leaks and rumors are already making waves, with the latest hinting at an exciting potential partnership with Google. A recent teardown of the Google app (version 15.52.37 beta) from Android Authority has uncovered strings suggesting that Samsung may offer free Gemini Advanced subscriptions with the Galaxy S25 series. This could mean that when purchasing a Galaxy S25, S25 Plus, or S25 Ultra, users might get free access to Google's Gemini Advanced AI service. According to the report, there are different tiers of Gemini Advanced subscriptions, and the trial duration may vary depending on the model: Although these details are based on code strings found in the app and have not been officially confirmed, the possibility of this offer being included is intriguing. This move would mirror Samsung's previous collaboration with Circle to Search in the Galaxy S24 series. Alongside the potential Gemini Advanced trial, the Galaxy S25 series is expected to feature enhanced AI capabilities through the latest One UI 7 operating system. Furthermore, practical features like Car Crash Detection are also rumored, which would enhance user safety. As the launch date approaches, more details about the Galaxy S25 series are likely to emerge. Based on current leaks, the release is expected to take place on January 22, 2025, with further updates anticipated in the coming weeks.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Series Might Offer Free Gemini Advanced Subscriptions
The devices could be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipsets Samsung Galaxy S25 series is rumoured to be launched on January 22, 2025, and it could reportedly offer free Gemini Advanced subscriptions to make the devices more lucrative. As per the report, Google might have partnered with the South Korean tech giant to bundle different durations of trial subscriptions of its artificial intelligence (AI) product with each of the models. The trial subscriptions are said to range from three months to one year. Additionally, the company is also expected to offer the Galaxy AI suite of features for free with the series. According to an Android Authority report, Google could be offering its premium AI features to those purchasing the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S25 series devices. The evidence of this bundled offer was spotted by the publication during an Android application package (APK) teardown process of the Google app beta version 15.52.37. Several strings of code reportedly hinted at the claimed offer. The strings of code reportedly mention Google One and Samsung, and use the phrase "upsell". This indicates that the claimed offer is part of an upselling campaign where the Mountain View-based tech giant believes exposing more users to Gemini Advanced could result in them purchasing the subscription once the trial runs out. Other strings reportedly also mention the phrase, "Your device gives you access to an {xxx}-month subscription to Gemini Advanced, with access to our most capable AI models, at no cost," where "xxx" is replaced by three months, six months, nine months, and one-year durations in different variations. Apart from this, the publication also shared separate strings of code which directly mention "Samsung_S25", highlighting the upcoming smartphone series. It is speculated that different models of the series could come with a free Gemini Advanced subscription for different durations. It could be that the standard model could get three or six months, whereas the Plus and Ultra variants get nine months and one year's worth of free subscriptions, respectively. However, it should be noted that neither Google nor Samsung has officially announced this offer, and merely its mention in the app's code is not a confirmation that users will definitely get free subscriptions to Gemini Advanced. We should know more once the Galaxy S25 phones are launched next month.

Samsung could give Galaxy S25 buyers a free Gemini Advanced subscription
This coveted Galaxy S25 Ultra feature might not hit any other phones all year, again Summary Samsung's Galaxy S25 series may come with a free trial of Gemini Advanced AI, according to code found in the Google app beta. Gemini Advanced subscribers get access to all of Google's top AI models, including the very latest in Gemini 2.0 Flash and 1.5 Deep Research. Gemini Advanced can process 1,000,000 tokens at once, making it ideal for professional use and integration with Google apps. ✕ Remove Ads The Galaxy S25 series is Samsung's next big thing, due to release at a Galaxy Unpacked event that the latest rumors suggest will happen on January 22. The long-anticipated release will sport One UI 7, Galaxy AI, and a lot of other features -- but it could also come with a free trial of Gemini Advanced, according to new discoveries in the latest Google app beta. As with all early leaks, take this with a grain of salt, but there are strings in the code that seem to point towards trials of varying lengths (and not just for Samsung, either.) Related Google Gemini: Everything you need to know about Google's next-gen multimodal AI Google Gemini is here, with a whole new approach to multimodal AI Posts ✕ Remove Ads In version 15.52.37 beta of the Google app, there are four different strings that say "Your device gives you access to a one, six, nine month, or one year subscription to Gemini Advanced, with access to our most capable AI models, at no cost," according to findings by Android Authority. There's also code that suggests the Pixel 9, an unnamed Motorola phone, and other types of phones could also qualify for free trials of Gemini. It's a welcome surprise, especially with all the capabilities Gemini Advanced holds. It's a powerful AI that can help you streamline your day-to-day life and greatly increase what your phone is capable of. Although Google has already released multiple versions of Gemini, only Advanced users get access to the latest models, like 2.0 Flash and 1.5 Deep Research, which began rolling out earlier this month. ✕ Remove Ads What can Gemini Advanced do? On top of the standard utilities of an AI, Gemini Advanced is capable of processing quite a bit more data. Every model can process a certain amount of data at one time. This amount, referred to as tokens, increases based on the tool you're using. The standard Gemini model can only process 32,000 tokens at a time, while Chat GPT-4 can process 128,000. Gemini Advanced can process 1,000,000 tokens at once -- enough to process an hour of video at a time or search the entirety of War and Peace for grammatical errors. Because of this, Gemini Advanced lends itself well to professional use and integrates seamlessly with Google's suite of apps. ✕ Remove Ads
