Apple Music integration could be coming to ChatGPT -- here's what we know
"Earlier in the year, OpenAI announced a new feature, introducing integrations with popular apps directly from the chatbot interface. Now, it is announcing more of them, including Apple Music. Known as apps in ChatGPT, OpenAI has already introduced this feature for Spotify, Zillow, Canva and more. As part of a Substack post on the introduction of ChatGPT's updated AI image generator, Fidji Simo, CEO of applications at ChatGPT, announced an array of new apps for this particular feature. Earlier this year, we introduced apps from partners like Booking.com. Canva, Coursera, Expedia, Figma, Spotify and Zillow", said Simo. "Soon even more apps will be available in a new directory, including Adobe, Airtable, Clay, Lovable, OpenTable, Replit, and Salesforce, and other developers will be able to submit their apps for review." You'll notice that Apple Music isn't actually in that list. Early reports of this news included Apple Music in the list, but it appears that the blog has since been edited to remove this reference. It isn't clear yet if that means Apple Music won't be coming to ChatGPT at all, or if it has just been delayed for now. However, considering OpenAI has already announced the launch of Spotify under this feature, it would be surprising for Apple Music not to get involved. With apps in ChatGPT, they will automatically activate when mentioned. For example, if you ask ChatGPT to "Make me a Spotify playlist for a lively party this Friday," it will take notice of the named app and activate it. The same applies to apps like OpenTable for booking restaurants or Canva for creating posters. OpenAI hasn't given a date for the release of these new apps. However, the feature is currently available to all regions, except for the European Union and the United Kingdom. That means all free and paid plans in the US can access it. Currently, OpenAI is drip feeding these app integrations, releasing them in small batches every couple of weeks to months. All of the apps that have been announced so far have been large, well-known systems, such as Spotify and Canva. However, OpenAI appears to be planning on eventually offering a full shop system with the ability for any developer to develop their own app. This could eventually lead to a long list of possible integrations for ChatGPT, including everything from maps to shopping and niche image editing tools.

Apple Music to integrate with ChatGPT, announces OpenAI
TL;DR: OpenAI has announced Apple Music as a first-round partner for direct integration into ChatGPT, enhancing user experience by combining advanced AI with popular music streaming services. This collaboration aims to deliver seamless access to Apple Music's extensive library within the ChatGPT platform. ChatGPT users will soon be able to make Apple Music playlists within the app by simply asking ChatGPT to do it for them, as OpenAI's CEO of applications revealed in a recent Substack post that Apple Music has joined the list of upcoming partners that will integrate into ChatGPT. OpenAI unveiled in October that apps are coming to ChatGPT, which opens the door for many popular apps to integrate directly into the service and enable ChatGPT users to take advantage of the interoperability. For example, Spotify, Booking.com, Canva, Coursera, Figma, Expedia, and Zillow are all coming to ChatGPT as first-round partnerships, with even more popular apps being on the horizon as well. According to Fidji Simo, OpenAI's CEO of applications, Adobe Airtable, Apple Music, Clay, Lovable, OpenTable, Replit, and Salesforce are also joining the list. So, how will Apple Music work within ChatGPT? Presumably, it will be very similar or even identical to how Spotify already works within the app. If a user requests ChatGPT to create a playlist based on selections within the conversation, ChatGPT will automatically open the Spotify app and port over the designated playlist to the app, enabling users to create new playlists through natural conversations. Other than that, Apple Music's integration will likely mean ChatGPT users can ask the AI to play music directly from the app, such as a soundtrack from a movie or a song they can't remember the name of.
