Extreme Networks launches Extreme Platform ONE into general availability - SiliconANGLE
Extreme Networks launches Extreme Platform ONE into general availability Extreme Networks Inc. today made its Extreme Platform ONE software for managing enterprise networks generally available. The launch is the culmination of a months-long rollout. Extreme Platform ONE made its original debut in December and became available to managed service providers last February. Ahead of today's release, Extreme Networks also opened access to more than 200 early customers. San Jose, California-based Extreme Networks is a major provider of network equipment. It makes routers and switches for data centers along with supporting hardware such as optical cables. For offices, it provides a line of access points that can be used to provide Wi-Fi connectivity. Extreme Networks sells its hardware alongside cloud-based management tools. Administrators can use them to monitor network devices, troubleshoot malfunctions and perform related tasks. The newly launched Extreme Platform ONE promises to streamline such tasks using artificial intelligence. The software can generate a visualization of a corporate network that highlights the devices it includes, as well as the manner in which they interact with one another. Administrators can use drag and drop controls to navigate the dashboard. A user could, for example, bring up data on what switches are involved in powering a certain business application. Extreme Networks says that its visualization features can ease troubleshooting tasks. If a switch malfunctions, administrators can use Extreme Platform ONE's network map to determine what systems rely on it to work. The company says that the visualization is also useful for familiarizing newly hired technical staff with the corporate network. When more detailed infrastructure data is required, administrators can use a built-in AI assistant to run queries. The chatbot lends itself to retrieving technical information such as the number of devices that are nearing end of support. According to Extreme Networks, the platform's built-in AI doubles as a financial tool. It can retrieve data points such as how the number of active software licenses in a network has changed time and which subscriptions are up for renewal. Using a built-in reporting tool, administrators can turn that data into graphs for the accounting team. Extreme Platform One also uses AI to automate day-to-day network maintenance tasks. AI agents analyze telemetry to find technical issues and generate troubleshooting suggestions. In some cases, the software is capable of applying the recommended fixes on its own.

Extreme Networks' AI-Infused Network Management Platform Goes GA
The all-in-one AI-powered networking and security management platform already has more than 265 early adopter customers, according to Extreme Networks. Extreme Networks on Tuesday announced the general availability of Extreme Platform ONE, the networking specialist's unified management platform that's instilled with AI. Extreme Platform ONE, first revealed in December, boils down network and security management by bringing the tools into one platform for enterprises, including products from third-party networking and security vendors, such as Microsoft. The company said that as a result, up to 90 percent of manual work can be reduced and resolution times cut by up to 98 percent. The platform already has more than 265 early adopter customers, Morrisville, N.C.-based Extreme said. Extreme Platform ONE has AI baked in to radically simplify the network management experience by "composing" a workspace unique to the user, with every application they need in one place, the company told CRN. "Extreme Platform ONE cements our leadership in AI for networking and sets a new benchmark for innovation. We're turning hours of complexity into minutes of simplicity and delivering use cases that fundamentally change how customers manage and optimize their networks. Our partners see this as a huge opportunity, as it's opening doors to bigger wins and faster time to value, especially as our competitors face disruption and portfolio uncertainty. As the first in our space to fully integrate AI into the networking experience, Extreme is setting the standard for innovation and market leadership, the networking specialist's president and CEO, Ed Meyercord, told CRN. The company at the same time Platform ONE was first introduced late last year also announced it was simplifying buying and licensing for end customers. Extreme Platform ONE now consolidates license, contract, and asset management into a single place for end users. This gives partners and customers real-time visibility into usage, renewals, support coverage, and device inventory across all sites and product lines, Extreme said. The 2025 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Enterprise Wired and Wireless LAN Infrastructure report, which came out in June, listed Extreme Networks as a Visionary. The company, which was listed as a Leader in six of the last seven Magic Quadrant reports, noted that Gartner expects Extreme to invest in its Extreme Platform ONE strategy, but that the offering requires migration for the current ExtremeCloud IQ installed base. The 2025 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Enterprise Wired and Wireless LAN was published before the general availability of Extreme Platform ONE.
