Ray-Ban Meta Glasses Will Soon Be Available in India, Says Meta
Music playability expands more regions via Spotify, Apple Music and more Meta Platforms on Wednesday announced that the Ray-Ban Meta Glasses will soon be available for purchase in India among other regions. The smart glasses were first launched in September 2023 and only in the US. Although their availability has since been expanded to include more regions, they haven't been made available for sale in India, until now. Alongside their expanded availability, the company introduced new styles and features, such as expansion of live translation, and the ability to send and receive direct messages (DMs) and video calls through Instagram. As per Meta, the Ray-Ban Meta Glasses will soon be launched in India, Mexico, and the UAE. Priced at $299 (roughly Rs. 25,000) for the base frame in the US, the smart glasses, which have been developed in collaboration with EssilorLuxottica, feature a 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera, open-ear speakers, and microphones. These are said to enable users to capture snapshots, listen to music, and have conversations -- all on the go. However, the company is yet to share details regarding the pricing and the availability of the Ray-Ban Meta Glasses in India. Ray-Ban Meta glasses is now available in new designs. Customers can choose from new styles for the glasses, such as the Skyler Shiny Chalk Grey with Transitions Sapphire lenses, Skyler Shiny Black with G15 Green lenses, or the Skyler Shiny Black variant with Clear lenses. The company introduced live translation in December 2024 but it was limited to the US and Canada and only in early access. This feature is now being rolled out widely to include all the markets in which the smart glasses are available. It brings real-time speech translation capabilities between English and either Spanish, French, or Italian languages with a simple "Hey Meta, start live translation" command. Users can play the translated audio through the open-ear speakers and get a transcription of the conversation. Additionally, language packs can be downloaded which eliminate the need of connecting the glasses to a Wi-Fi network for the live translation feature to work. Meta is also upgrading Instagram's integration with a new feature which lets users send and receive DMs, photos, audio calls, and video calls from the app on your glasses. They can simply say, "Hey Meta, send a message to Lisa on Instagram", and the smart glasses will send a DM on Instagram, the company explains. It is also expanding the access to music apps beyond the US and Canada. Ray-Ban Meta Glasses users in other regions can play music on the smart glasses through apps like Spotify, Amazon Music, and Apple Music. It allows you to ask queries about the tracks you're listening to. Another notable improvement is said to be to the Live AI feature. Introduced in December last year, it grants Meta AI access to Ray-Ban Meta Glasses' cameras to monitor the video feed in real-time. The company says its chatbot can continuously see the user's surroundings and answer questions about them. They can invoke Meta AI without the "Hey Meta" command and can even ask follow-up questions. With the update, Meta AI can hold conversations more naturally, with a smooth, natural tone. Live AI is also being made available to more regions in the EU.

Meta Rayban Glasses are soon coming to IndiaNew software updates are also on the horizonNew designs are also coming with a summer themeToday, Meta announced that Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses are coming soon to India, Mexico, and the UAE -- giving more people the chance to stay connected, get inspired, and get things done, all through their glasses. First introduced in September 2023, the Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses offer a seamless blend of style and convenience. These AI-powered glasses provide a hands-free way to stay informed and inspired. Whether you're navigating through a new city, searching for recommendations, or just looking for a spark of creative writing inspiration, you can simply ask -- and receive real-time answers and insights without lifting a finger. Built for everyday wearability, these stylish frames let you capture life's moments, listen to music, or stay connected -- all while keeping your phone tucked away. There is also a paired app that gives you quick access to more features. Ray-Ban Meta glasses offer both aesthetic versatility and functional upgrades that cater to a wide range of users. Building on their hands-free capabilities -- like accessing real-time information via Meta AI, listening to music or podcasts, and capturing spontaneous moments without pulling out a phone -- the glasses are now getting a seasonal refresh. Starting today, users can explore new frame and lens options in the Skyler collection, expanding the lineup with fresh combinations that speak to both style and practicality. One standout addition is the Skyler in Shiny Chalky Gray with Transitions® Sapphire lenses -- a neutral frame with a subtle pop of color that adapts to changing light conditions, making it ideal for both indoor and outdoor wear. For those who lean toward a more classic look, the Skyler is now also available in Shiny Black with G15 Green lenses and Shiny Black with Clear lenses, offering flexibility for both everyday wear and personal expression. As smart glasses continue to find their place in mainstream culture, these new releases show that functionality and fashion no longer have to live in separate lanes. Soon, wearers will be able to send and receive direct messages, photos, and even make audio and video calls on Instagram, directly from their glasses. This builds on existing support for WhatsApp, Messenger, and native messaging apps on both iPhone and Android, allowing users to stay connected across their preferred platforms without reaching for their phone. A simple voice command -- like "Hey Meta, send a message to Lisa on Instagram" -- keeps communication fluid and hands-free. As the days get longer and playlists get livelier, Meta is also expanding access to popular music streaming services. Support for Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, and Shazam is now moving beyond the US and Canada, giving users in more countries the ability to queue up their favorite tracks using just their voice. Music discovery is also getting smarter; users can ask Meta AI for song titles, release dates, or artist info with questions like "What's the name of this song?" or "When did this album come out?" One of the most ambitious features on the horizon is a real-time conversational AI experience. Rolling out soon in the US and Canada, this update allows Meta AI to see what you see through the glasses and respond with contextual awareness. Whether you're cooking and short on ingredients or selecting a wine pairing, Meta AI can interpret visual cues and carry on a natural back-and-forth conversation -- without needing to repeat a wake word. It's a significant leap toward making AI more intuitive and situationally aware. Meanwhile, access to Meta AI is expanding across the European Union, with support for real-time visual queries arriving in more countries next week. Users in the UK were the first to test this update earlier this month, and early feedback has been overwhelmingly positive.
