Samsung teases a 'smarter' Galaxy Z Fold 7 camera amid rumors of upgraded hardware
Samsung is in full hype mode around the launch of the Galaxy Z Fold 7 (and, to a lesser extent, Flip 7), with its latest teaser hinting at camera improvements, but only ones related to AI. In its continued "The Ultra experience is ready to unfold" series of teasers, Samsung vaguely hints at how AI will make the Galaxy Z Fold 7's camera "smarter." The company says: That's why Samsung Electronics approaches camera innovation as a holistic system, where each advancement is supported by tightly integrated technologies. This unified vision allows Galaxy devices to continuously redefine mobile photography, empowering users to capture, create and communicate more meaningfully. As AI evolves from text-based prompts to multimodal understanding, Galaxy devices are becoming smarter -- able to get what you're looking at and respond to situations. The camera is at the heart of this transformation. More than just a tool for capturing images, coupled with enhanced AI-powered features, the Galaxy camera is now part of the intuitive interface that turns what users see into understanding and action. Everything here is very nondescript, as AI teasers tend to be, but it's clear that Samsung is putting more emphasis on hyping up the Galaxy Z Fold 7's AI features over its camera prowess. That's a bit of a shame, as the company is apparently set to deliver some actual, meaningful improvements. Leaks suggest a 200MP main camera among other upgrades, making this the biggest camera upgrade on a Samsung foldable in three generations. But even if those rumors turn out to be untrue, you can rest assured, there's AI. Yippee.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 teaser suggests a big AI camera upgrade is on the way
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7's cameras are at the center of a third in a series of teasers from Samsung leading up to the expected launch of the new foldable in a few weeks' time. We don't get any details on specs, but we can still pick up what Samsung's putting down regarding how it goes over the importance of all elements of a phone's camera system. The teaser includes a video that seems to represent all the pixels that go into just a single camera of the three normally found on the back of Samsung flagship phones. Samsung then goes into how the camera of a smartphone is important for more than just photography, and can drive AI features to help a user understand the world around them. The post also highlights the importance of privacy, and how a foldable phone makes the camera experience even better. Samsung wraps up by asking users to "Stay tuned. The camera will only get smarter -- helping users capture life's moments more vividly and make everyday experiences more seamless, personal and impactful." The post is then signed off with the apparent tagline for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 -- "The Ultra experience is ready to unfold." Samsung knows how to make a good smartphone camera experience. After all, the Galaxy S25 Ultra is the number one phone on our best camera phones guide. But this post is hinting at something more than just the promise of sharper, better looking photos that every new generation of smartphone carries. To me, it feels like Samsung could be hinting at the Galaxy Z Fold 7 adopting something like the iPhone 16 series' Visual Intelligence system, which allows users to explore the world through their camera lens via AI chatbot responses and image analyses. There's no equivalent feature on current Galaxy flagship phones right now, so it would make sense for Samsung to try its own hand at this kind of feature. Whether we get an ultra-grade or an actual Ultra-branded Z Fold (depending on how you interpret Samsung's previous teasers), it looks as if the new Samsung foldable will have a significantly slimmer and lighter design. Whether it's good enough to beat the best foldable phones is another matter, but hopefully we'll find out soon. Samsung normally reveals its new foldables in summer each year, and a July 10 launch date has been tipped for both the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 could get a big behind-the-scenes camera upgrade
The foldables have also both been certified in South Korea, suggesting they're launching soon The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 could arrive with a major under-the-hood upgrade that delivers improved photos and videos, based on a new leak. We've previously heard that the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 could have a new 200MP camera, but that the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 might not be in for any such upgrades, with the same camera hardware as last year tipped. However, the Z Flip 7 could still be capable of taking better photos than the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6, as both upcoming foldables might have an improved version of Samsung's ProVisual Engine AI image-processing tech. This is according to leaker @PandaFlashPro, who claims that a new version of ProVisual Engine is coming to both the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and the Galaxy Z Fold 7. This upgrade will apparently allow for better photo quality, better digital zoom quality, and better video stability. So in other words, both photos and videos could look better on these phones than on their predecessors. ProVisual Engine debuted in the Samsung Galaxy S24 series, and it's a suite of AI tools that works in the background to improve photo and video quality - as well as powering things like Generative Edit, which lets you alter photos you've taken. So it's not a new thing, but if this leak is right then the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 will get a new and improved version of the tech. However, the source adds that this upgraded version will subsequently land on the Samsung Galaxy S25 series as a software update, so you might not have to buy one of the company's upcoming foldables to get it. In other Samsung foldable news, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Galaxy Z Fold 7 have both been certified by SafetyKorea (as spotted by XpertPick). These certifications don't tell us much, but it's mandatory for phones to receive this certification before being sold in South Korea, so this both confirms that the phones are in the works, and suggests they'll land soon, since this certification would usually happen quite close to launch. That makes sense, since based on past form we'd expect both handsets to launch in July, with one leak pointing to a July 10 announcement.

Samsung won't stop teasing the Galaxy Z Fold 7: here are 3 things revealed already
We're getting a better idea of what the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 will be Samsung is expected to announce its next generation of foldable devices in the coming months, and while we await confirmation from the South Korean brand on when exactly it plans on revealing the phones it's continuing to tease the upcoming releases. Samsung's remaining coy on exact specs, but with each teaser it publishes we get a clearer picture of what we can expect when the Galaxy Z Fold 7 launch finally happens. Recommended Videos Galazy Z Fold 7 teaser timeline June 3: An 'Ultra' foldable is teased, Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 names inadvertently revealed June 9: "The newest Galaxy Z series is the thinnest, lightest and most advanced foldable yet" June 11: Samsung teases triple cameras with AI-powered features on a foldable An 'Ultra' foldable Samsung's June 3 teaser invited us to "meet the next chapter of Ultra" with an animation of a foldable phone which could be the Galaxy Z Fold 7 Ultra. Samsung looks set to apply the 'Ultra' moniker to an upcoming foldable phone, which would suggest the device will be the best foldable phone the firm will be offering. It's likely to be pretty expensive too, but my colleague Gareth Beavis doesn't see that as an issue. This teaser also gave us a second reveal - whether Samsung meant it or not. I spotted the image used in the release appeared to confirm both the Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 as it had the file name "Galaxy-Z-Fold7-Z-Flip7-Pre-tease-Bartype_1920x1080.gif". This release, and all subsequent releases, ends with the tag line "The Ultra experience is ready to unfold" - a Z Fold Ultra device looks almost nailed on to arrive this year. Super slim, but is it the thinnest? Six days later, on June 9, Samsung was back with another Z series teaser, declaring "the newest Galaxy Z series is the thinnest, lightest and most advanced foldable yet". An animated GIF in the post appears to show the outline of a supremely slender foldable, but it comes with a disclaimer which reads "Image simulated for illustrative purposes", so it's not clear how accurate it is. Samsung certainly has its work cut out if it wants the Z Fold 7 to be the thinnest around, with the Honor Magic V3 measuring 9.3mm folded / 4.4mm unfolded, while the Oppo Find N5 is an even more svelte 8.9mm/4.2mm. Honor has itself teased that its upcoming Magic V5 foldable will be even thinner. Last year's Galaxy Z Fold 6 by comparison comes in at a portly 12.1mm/5.6mm. Three cameras, with AI at the heart Samsung waited just two more days before unleashing the third Z Fold 7 teaser on June 11, this time focusing on cameras and AI. Another animated GIF was included, this time giving us a hint of a triple camera setup. This isn't huge news considering the Z Fold 6 also comes with three rear cameras, but Samsung pushes the AI-powered features angle by saying "the Galaxy camera is now part of the intuitive interface that turns what users see into understanding and action. "When paired with the flexible, expansive screen of a foldable, this experience becomes even more powerful, dynamic and immersive." This sounds like the Galaxy Z Fold 7 could have Google's Gemini Live feature built in (or a similar feature with Samsung's own branding), allowing you to open up the camera for the AI assistant to view the world around you and provide contextual information on what it 'sees'. Recent reports point to a Galaxy Unpacked event happening sometime in July, so we may be only a few weeks away from finding out exactly what Samsung has in store for us.

Samsung: Galaxy Z Fold 7 Cameras are Much Ultra
We may earn a commission when you click links to retailers and purchase goods. More info. If you follow Android news, then you're likely aware that Samsung has new foldable devices inbound. I will say, Samsung has gotten better at the whole "hypetrain" thing over the years, but they still have a ways to go if they want to get on a OnePlus or Nothing level or hype. Not that we want that, I'm just saying. The latest piece of marketing Samsung released is with regard to the cameras on the backside of what we assume to be the Galaxy Z Fold 7. You know, what Samsung is calling, "the Next Chapter of Ultra." And while we get no actual specifics, Samsung doesn't shy from mentioning AI multiple times across a couple of paragraphs. To maybe help build upon what Samsung is trying to do here, allow me to explain. The Galaxy S Ultra series of devices have long had better camera systems than the more-expensive Galaxy Z series. This year, it's expected that the Galaxy Z Fold 7 camera should be right in line with the Galaxy S25 Ultra's, so the people spending nearly $2,000 on a phone won't feel like they're missing out on anything. That's the rumor, at least, as Samsung still hasn't provided any real details. Galaxy Z Fold 7 (and the other new Galaxy foldables) is reported to be announced in early July. That's just a few weeks away.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 AI Camera Features Teased
The Galaxy Z Fold 7 will likely boast an edge-to-edge cover display Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 is expected to launch soon as a successor to the Galaxy Z Fold 6. While no official date has been confirmed, the South Korean tech giant has started teasing the upcoming foldable, claiming that it will be packed with "Ultra" features. The latest teaser suggests that the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 7 will boast some AI-backed camera features, and a video shows a triple rear camera module. Previous leaks have claimed that the foldable could feature a 200-megapixel main rear camera. Samsung has teased the AI camera features of the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 7 in a press release. Although the name of the handset is not expressly mentioned, the accompanying video hints at the anticipated book-style foldable. The phone appears to flaunt a triple rear camera unit, with three sensors arranged vertically, similar to the existing model. The company states that the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 will be equipped with improved AI features, which might be able to process text-based as well as multimodal prompts. The camera is teased to have an intuitive interface and may help users understand and act based on what they are looking at. This hints at one or more new Galaxy AI features that users can access directly from the camera app. Samsung added that the Galaxy Z Fold 7 will come with enhanced privacy features to protect all user data. The upcoming foldable smartphone is said to offer an "Ultra experience," yet again. Initially, when Samsung teased an "Ultra" foldable smartphone, it was speculated to be an Ultra-branded model alongside the standard Galaxy Z Fold 7. However, leaks and reports later suggested that there will likely be no separate Ultra variant and that the Fold 7 itself is expected to offer "Ultra" features. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 is expected to come with a 200-megapixel primary rear camera sensor. The phone could be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC and a 4,400mAh battery with 25W charging support. It has been tipped to launch as the thinnest foldable smartphone, with a 3.9mm profile when unfolded and 8.9mm when folded. Another recent teaser from the company also showcased the slim design fo the foldable. Galaxy Z Fold 7 will likely boast an edge-to-edge cover display. It is expected to be available in 12GB + 256GB, 12GB + 512GB, and 16GB + 1TB RAM and storage options and is rumoured to launch in mid-July.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 to get AI-powered camera with visual search and contextual awareness features
Samsung hints at a thinner, more durable foldable design with privacy-focused AI integration. Samsung is now gearing up to launch the next generation of foldables by slowly building up the anticipation. The latest teaser confirms that the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 7 will get an AI-powered triple camera setup. The company has not confirmed the exact specifications of the cameras but has confirmed that AI will play a significant role in the camera functions, making them smarter and more responsive. The company has announced that the upcoming Galaxy devices will feature AI-powered cameras designed to better understand what users see and respond to in real time. By combining hardware, software, and AI, the new system aims to go beyond photography, enabling features like visual search and contextual awareness, especially on foldable screens. Privacy remains a key focus. However, how will the users enable it still remains a mystery. Speaking of the specs, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 will reportedly feature a 200MP camera, which is already available on the Galaxy S25 Ultra and Galaxy S25 Edge. Additionally, the reports suggest that it could retain a 10MP telephoto lens and a 12MP ultrawide lens. On the front, it may offer a 4MP and 10MP selfie camera. However, the company has not announced any official plans to expand its Z series lineup with a fan edition product.
