The new Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 tablets are AI-ready -- and they'll be here soon
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra and Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Plus arrive next week. The company just unveiled the successors to the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra and Galaxy Tab S9 Plus, adopting updated components in a familiar design for its latest tablets. And in case you were wondering, yes, these tablets pack some of the AI features available on the best Samsung phones. The Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra and Tab S10 Plus have 14.6- and 12.4-inch OLED displays, respectively, and both screens work with an included S Pen. Regarding the Tab S10 Ultra, Samsung says its large tablet benefits from an 18% increase in CPU, 28% increase in GPU and 14% increase in NPU over the Tab S9 Ultra. The company says the MediaTek Dimensity 9300 Plus powering the tablet "enables faster and more responsive AI features." Interestingly enough, the Book Cover Keyboard will have a new Galaxy AI Key similar to the Copilot key found on several Copilot+ PCs. In terms of software, features like Note Assist and Drawing Assist will let you take notes and draw on these tablets, as their names would suggest. Samsung also said the Galaxy Tab S10 series can act as a home AI device. A 3D Map View shows an overview of your home and connected devices to let you easily manage devices across Samsung's SmartThings ecosystem. The company's Samsung Knox security exists to keep your data safe. The Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra starts at $1,199 with 256GB, with upgrades available for 512GB and 1TB. Hands On With Samsung's High-End Tablets: Can Galaxy AI Trounce the iPad?
Samsung has revised its flagship tablet lineup and aims to beat Apple to the AI punch. The Galaxy Tab S10+ and Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra, unveiled this week, will both ship with Galaxy AI before Apple Intelligence rolls out on iPads. Samsung's tablets have a great deal in common with each other and the previous generation. Read on for our early impressions. Design: Smooth, Clean, Familiar Samsung doesn't break any new ground on design with its latest tablets, but that's not necessarily a bad thing -- Samsung makes some of the best Android tablets available. The Tab S10+ and Tab S10 Ultra share core design elements including large Dynamic AMOLED 2X displays, dual rear cameras, a landscape selfie camera, a magnetic S Pen holder, and quality aluminum frames. The Galaxy Tab S10+ is the smaller of the new duo. It has a 12.4-inch display with a resolution of 2,800 by 1,752 pixels, which is carried over from the previous generation. The tablet measures 7.30 by 11.24 by 0.22 inches (HWD). The Wi-Fi-only model weighs 1.25 pounds and the 5G-equipped variant weighs 1.27 pounds. These measurements are almost identical to the Galaxy Tab S9+ (7.30 by 11.23 by 0.22 inches and 1.28 pounds). Meanwhile, the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra packs an enormous 14.6-inch screen with a resolution of 2,960 by 1,848 pixels into a body that measures 8.21 by 12.85 by 0.21 inches and weighs 1.58 pounds. This tablet is 0.03 pounds lighter than the Tab S9 Ultra, which otherwise shares the exact same screen and dimensions. Both new tablets feature an anti-reflective coating on their displays, which Samsung says will make them easier to see in sunlight. Get them in Moonstone Gray or Platinum Silver. The build quality of the S10+ and S10 Ultra is excellent. The aluminum frame seamlessly flows into the display glass and vice versa. The S10+ feels dense compared to the airy S10 Ultra, but both are impressively thin. For comparison, the Apple iPad Pro is 0.20 inches thick and it is Apple's thinnest product ever. Performance: So Long, Snapdragon The Tab S10 series is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ processor, a somewhat surprising change from the Qualcomm Snapdragon chips found in the Tab S9 line. The 9300+ is meant for top-of-the-line devices and is built with AI at its heart. Samsung claims the MediaTek chip in the Tab S10 Ultra has better CPU, GPU, and NPU performance compared with the Qualcomm chip in the Tab S9 Ultra. We look forward to benchmarking the tablets to see how well they really perform. Both tablets have 12GB of RAM and either 256GB or 512GB of internal storage. The S10 Ultra is available in a high-end configuration with 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. An included microSD card slot supports memory cards up to 1.5TB. The smaller S10+ features a 10,090mAh battery capable of 45W wired charging, while the larger S10 Ultra has a 11,200 mAh cell that charges at the same speed. Samsung claims both devices have a battery life of up to 16 hours, or about 6 hours more than Apple's iPads. For connectivity, the S10 supports Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3. Carrier-locked 5G models will offer sub-6GHz and mmWave 5G compatibility. The S10 Ultra supports the quicker Wi-Fi 7, which is one of the few differentiating specs between the tablets. Software: Galaxy AI Is the Draw Both devices will ship with Android 14 and receive four generations of OS updates and seven years of security fixes. Last year's models will receive the same number of OS updates, but just five years of security updates. This longer support window means the Galaxy Tab S10 series is a better long-term investment. While the Tab S9 and Tab S10 seem similar, Samsung is touting AI on the S10. Galaxy AI, Samsung's suite of AI tools, will ship on the Tab S10+ and Tab S10 Ultra. In our experience, Galaxy AI is truly useful and also provides a few laughs here and there. Several Galaxy AI features are available to the tablets out of the box. They include Circle to Search with Google to discover info about what's on your screen, Sketch to Image to turn doodles into masterpieces, and Notes Assist, which helps organize and summarize your thoughts. Galaxy AI is such a big part of Samsung's future that Samsung's optional Book Cover Keyboard has a dedicated Galaxy AI key. So far, Galaxy AI is available for free. Samsung hasn't said if it will charge for Galaxy AI down the road. In comparison, Google charges $20 per month for access to Gemini Live, though the device is available to Pixel 9 Pro buyers for free for one year. Pricing and Availability The Samsung Galaxy Tab S10+ starts at $999.99, and the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra starts at $1,199.99. Both will ship starting Oct. 3. Check back for full reviews soon.

Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra hands-on: AI arrives on Samsung's premium Android tablet
As with many hardware launches this year, the software is where the new things are. In a surprise 30-minute event today that could have been an email, Samsung unveiled new additions to its portfolio of devices this year, including the Galaxy S24 FE and the Galaxy Watch FE LTE. The highlight of today's news has to be the new Galaxy Tab S10 tablets, though, since they've long been regarded as the best premium Android tablets around. The Galaxy Tab S10+ and Tab S10 Ultra start at $1,000 and $1,200 respectively (the same price as the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max) and are available for pre-order today before they retail on October 3. With the Tab S10 series, Samsung proclaims it has brought its Galaxy AI to the category, thus making AI available for all. Features introduced on its flagship S24 phones earlier this year like Circle to Search and Sketch to Image are now supported on the tablets, and those that worked with the S Pen on the S24 Ultra, like Handwriting Assist and Note Assist, are here too. I spent some time with the new hardware and, though it's too early to tell if these updates work well, I can still say these are probably going to remain the best Android tablets around. When I picked up a Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra at Samsung's event today, I once again marveled at how thin and light it was, despite having already experienced the same feelings with all of Samsung's previous tablets. To recap, the Tab S10 Ultra has a 14.6-inch screen, while the Tab S10+ comes in at 12.4 inches. Both these AMOLED panels have anti-reflective finishes, and the devices are rated IP68 for durability, despite being so satisfyingly slim. They feel like blades you could potentially use to slice very soft sponge cakes with. I was able to pick up a Tab S10 Ultra with very little effort or muscle strain, and though it's usually difficult to maneuver such a wide screen, the fact that I could easily wield it with one hand made things easier. There's not much that's changed compared to the Galaxy Tab S9, other than that the S10 series uses MediaTek's Dimensity 9300+ processors, instead of Qualcomm's Snapdragon chips. I'm not convinced that these chips have the power or energy efficiency to multitask or execute AI tasks efficiently, but that's not something I can determine at a hands-on event. Samsung's AMOLED panels remain vibrant and bright, providing excellent media consumption experiences. It was hard to gauge how effective the anti-reflective treatment was under the harsh lights set up for the event, but for the most part I found things easy to see. And though I didn't linger too long on any of the Galaxy AI features on the Tab S10 series, I can tell you I've had fun playing with the very same tools on the S24 flagships we've reviewed throughout the year. Whether it's the S24 Ultra with an S Pen or the Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6, Samsung's slate of hardware this year have all received the Galaxy AI suite of writing and photo editing tools. We've already had time to ruminate how useful any of these things really are in the real world, and in general our impressions have been a resounding "meh." I have been impressed with how Sketch to Image has been able to transform crappy drawings of animals into realistic looking beasts in photos, and Circle to Search is a Google tool that makes it easier to look up items by drawing a ring around them. Many of the other Galaxy AI features, like most generative AI tools today, are only moderately helpful. We'll need to spend more time with the Tab S10 Ultra, Tab S10+, Galaxy S24 FE and even the Galaxy Watch FE LTE to determine if they're worth spending your money on. But for now, I have to admit that it's nice to see Samsung roll out all its Galaxy AI features across its lineup, resulting in a sense of cohesion and parity even in its lower cost offerings. Apple Intelligence, meanwhile, will require an iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 16 or iPhone 16 Pro, and won't work if you only have an iPhone 15. It's clear we're deep into the generative AI age, and will not be able to avoid them much longer, especially now that they're getting more prevalent across the Android ecosystem.

New Samsung Galaxy S10 Tablets Include AI Features, S Pen
Preorders are open for Samsung's new tablets, and they'll be available Oct. 3. Samsung is betting again on AI with two new tablets it introduced that have large screens, a premium pricetag and a dedicated AI button on their keyboard covers, which are sold separately. The company says the new Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra, which comes with a 14.6-inch screen, and its sibling, the Galaxy Tab S10+, are the company's first tablets that have been "purpose-built for AI." The AI enhancements come in the form of more processing power to make AI tasks more responsive, home-AI device-management software, and other tweaks including improved handwriting conversion and multi-speaker transcription. Regarding the handwriting upgrade, both devices, priced starting at $1,199.99 and $999.99 respectively, come with an S Pen stylus and AMOLED anti-reflection screens. Samsung didn't yet release images or pricing information for the Book Cover Keyboard accessories that would go with these tablets and include the AI button. Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 hands on: AI for bigger displays | Digital Trends
At an event in New York City today, Samsung unveiled its new affordable phone -- the Galaxy S24 FE -- and its latest tablet lineup. The first flagship products powered by a MediaTek processor in the U.S., the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra and Galaxy Tab S10 Plus bring the best of Galaxy AI to the tablet lineup. Both tablets build on last year's Tab S9 series, but the smaller 11-inch form factor is dropped in favor of the 12.4-inch Tab S10 Plus and the 14.6-inch Tab S10 Ultra. They're thin at just 5.6mm and 5.4mm, and fairly light at 571 grams and 718 grams, respectively. The Galaxy Tab S10 series are two of the thinnest Android tablets you can buy, and the armor aluminum build helps them feel well-built and premium. Recommended Videos I've just spent an hour with Samsung's new tablets. Having owned the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra, I've not seen a huge improvement this year, but a few things make this year's tablets interesting. Let me explain. The Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra is still a very, very big tablet When Samsung launched the Tab S8 Ultra two years ago, the Galaxy View was the first thing that came to mind. Samsung launched this 17-inch tablet as a one-off kitchen product a decade ago, and the Ultra range reminds me of its size and stature. It's a very big tablet, paired with one of the nicest Samsung displays I've used. Both tablets feature a bright and vibrant Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a dynamic refresh rate of 1Hz to 120Hz. There's no dual OLED technology like the iPad Pro, but it's a great display nonetheless. The Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra also has an anti-reflective display designed to reduce glare under direct light and provide an Android alternative to the iPad Pro's nano-textured glass. It's not billed as such and doesn't deliver as great an experience, but it's a step toward eventually offering a direct competitor. The Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra's big size makes it ideal for Samsung's DeX mode, which is designed to offer a Windows-like desktop experience on the go. DeX mode can launch any Android app in desktop mode and supports resizable windows, as well as all the PC-like keyboard shortcuts that we're used to. From my experience with the Tab S9 Ultra, it's clear that the Tab S10 Ultra is not a one-handed tablet. This is a noticeably large device that requires two hands and works best with a keyboard, but thanks to its svelte design, it is very portable. A familiar design and camera setup The Tab S10 Ultra follows the Tab S9 Ultra, and it features a dual 12-megapixel front-facing camera array designed to provide the ideal video call setup. The Tab S10 Plus features a single 12MP ultrawide camera, with both tablets featuring a 13MP and 8MP ultrawide dual-camera array on the rear. The front-facing camera on both tablets is featured in the middle of the bezel in horizontal mode, making it ideal for video calls but less so if you plan to use it in portrait mode. On the rear, the Tab S10 Ultra's antenna design has a small notch. Like the Galaxy Tab range before it, there's a magnetic docking station for the included S Pen, but Samsung has also solved one of my biggest complaints. Instead of being flush -- which made it easier for the S Pen to fall off -- it's now slightly dipped, which means the S Pen should be more secure. It certainly feels that way from my brief hands-on. Many of the great things we've come to expect from Samsung tablets are also present, including IP68 dust and water resistance. This helps the Galaxy Tab S10 series stand apart from other tablets and is even more impressive, considering the thin profile of both tablets. It's all about the AI features that we've seen before If you had watched Samsung's announcement earlier today, you would have seen them mention AI a lot. The Galaxy Tab S10 series is being billed as an AI tablet, but it mostly offers the same AI features we've seen on other Samsung devices this year. That said, it's the most capable AI tablet right now. The Galaxy Tab S10 series brings the Galaxy AI features we're familiar with to the tablet form factor. The live translation features are now available in 16 languages, offering an easy way to bridge language differences during a conversation. The large display and included S Pen on both tablets -- especially the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra -- are perfect for Sketch to Image, which allows you to turn a simple prompt into an AI-generated image. Circle to Search is designed to offer an easy way to search anything you see on the screen. The bundled S Pen is perfect for big displays and includes the range of S Pen features found on the Galaxy S24 Ultra and Galaxy Z Fold 6. The new Book Cover Keyboard has a dedicated Galaxy AI key -- like the one found on the new Windows-powered Copilot+ PCs -- that can launch Bixby or Google Gemini with a quick tap. The first MediaTek-powered flagship device None of these AI features are new or revolutionary, but the Galaxy Tab S10 series is designed to bring them to the tablet form factor. These are enabled by the most interesting part of the Galaxy Tab S10 series: the MediaTek 9300+ processor that powers both tablets. The first MediaTek flagship device in the U.S. promises big gains in performance and efficiency. This is the first MediaTek-powered flagship device in the U.S., and Samsung has made bold claims about its performance gains over the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor that powers last year's Tab S9 range. These gains include an 18% increase in CPU power, a 28% increase in GPU performance, and a 14% increase in NPU efficiency. We've tested other phones powered by the Dimensity 9300+ processor, and MediaTek's current flagship processor also delivers excellent battery life. I expect this to be the same for the Galaxy Tab S10 series, with the 11,200mAh (Tab S10 Ultra) and 10,090mAh (Tab S10 Plus) batteries likely to deliver multiday battery life. First impressions of the Galaxy Tab S10 series Inconscipucous by its absence during the event was a successor to the Galaxy Tab S9, which featured an 11-inch display. It's unclear whether Samsung still plans to launch a smaller tablet to fit into the Tab S10 range, but if you want a smaller Galaxy Tab, you'll need to look at the Galaxy Tab S9 FE. On its own, the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra and Tab S10 Plus are perfectly fine tablets. They offer the Galaxy experience with a huge display, especially in the case of the former. My key issue is their similarity to last year's Galaxy Tab S9 series. These are nearly identical with no noticeable changes, so if you have a Tab S9 series, there's no reason to upgrade. The AI features will eventually land with a future update for your tablet. We will have a full review of the new tablets soon, but my first impression is mostly positive. On their own, they are excellent tablets that offer the best big-screen Android tablet experience. However, a $999 price tag for the Galaxy Tab S10 Plus and $1,199 for the Tab S10 Ultra means they require a second consideration. There are likely to be great trade-in deals, but like the best Android tablets, the biggest challenge to the form factor is the Android OS itself. The Galaxy Tab S10 series is available to preorder today and will launch on October 3.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Hands On: Thin Like an iPad Pro but Still as Big as My Head
Samsung is hoping you’ll take advantage of Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra and S10+ big displays to make use of Galaxy AI. Samsung’s Tab S9 Ultra was already a giant tablet, sporting a hulking 14.6-inch display. But now the new name of the game is a thin frame, and the recent Apple iPad Pro with M4 is the one doing it best. So what’s Samsung to do? Well, it's releasing another really, really big tablet, but this time with more AI. Now, the Tab S10 + and Tab S10 Ultra sport multiple Galaxy AI features that were previously only seen on Galaxy phones. I attended Samsung’s launch event to try them out. The S10 Ultra features the thin-bezel design of the previous generation, but it maintains the 14.6-inch screen. It also contains the AMOLED 2X display as the smaller, 12.4-inch S10+. Both contain an anti-reflection coating to reduce glare, and I was satisfied with the device's overall look. The $1,200 Ultra is still enormous. It’s 5.4mm thick compared to the 5.5mm of the S9 Ultra. It’s a small difference, but it's slightly lighter than last year’s by a little more or less than 10 grams, depending on if you get the WiFi or 5G version. It’s still a very heavy tablet. It didn’t want to stay put on the plastic stands that Samsung put out at the event. In hand, the device demands you rest it against your arm like you’re holding an infant's head. That’s not to say I don’t like such a big screen, especially when using the S Pen to draw and write. Though smaller, the $1,000 Galaxy Tab S10+ sports the same MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ chip, which Samsung said is 18% better in CPU processing and 28% better in GPU than last year’s Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. Otherwise, it still contains the same 11,200 mAh battery coupled with fast charging up to 45W. The new Galaxy Tabs still contain the same four-speaker setup as last year's big tablets. The change in chip type is meant to facilitate all the on-device and cloud-based AI features coming right off the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy Z Fold 6 from earlier this year. This includes Circle to Search with homework help, Note Assist, and extra-handy handwriting assist. The handwriting feature is similar to the one on the latest iPads, which tries to rearrange your chicken scratch to look more legible. I apparently have such awful handwriting that neither Samsung nor Apple can comprehend my words. Both tablets are running Android 14. Google’s Android 15 started making its way to Pixel devices earlier this month. Samsung is adding some extra features like an easy one-click split screen. The big screen may add some extra fidelity when using Sketch to Image, but it's not like sticking a big purple cat in front of your group photos is much of a system seller. The added hardware, like the S Pen and the Book Cover Keyboard, add extra ways of accessing Galaxy AI writing features with a dedicated key. While capable, they’re not the exciting return of Samsung tablets I hoped for. Big screen tablets can be fun, but only for those with plus-sized hands or on a solid desktop stand. The Tab S10 Ultra and S10+ are up for preorder starting Thursday, and they’ll be available Oct. 3.

Samsung's New Galaxy Tab S10+ and S10 Ultra Official at $999
We may earn a commission when you click links to retailers and purchase goods. More info. Samsung is having itself a new product week and has not only announced the Galaxy S24 FE and Galaxy Watch FE, they unveiled new tablets too. The Galaxy Tab S10+ and Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra are official with big screens, new chipsets, and big prices. These new tablets will sort-of replace the Galaxy Tab S9 line, which is only a year old. And unfortunately for those who like the smaller, non-plus variants of Samsung tablets, we are not getting that this year. So what's new? Well, it's mostly talk of AI out of Samsung's camp, which is pretty snoozy stuff and not that important or useful. Instead, let's talk specs, as these have big specs and some noteworthy changes too. I think the biggest change there is the switch from Snapdragon to a MediaTek Dimensity 9300+. We are so used to seeing Samsung use top tier chips from Qualcomm in its best tablets, so we'll be interested to see how these truly perform. In their press release, Samsung suggests "more than 18% increase in CPU, 28% increase in GPU, and 14% increase in NPU compared to Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra." Those are certainly impressive gains from last year's Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip. We also have massive Dynamic AMOLED 2X displays in both units with anti-reflective coating, quad speakers, and an IP68 water and dust resistance rating. That IP rating might be one of the most important specs of all, especially if you use your tablet while on the go or in settings that it could see some wetness. As for the AI stuff, Samsung is talking about Circle to Search, note taking summaries, handwriting help, image editing or creative tools, etc. It's pretty standard AI-related features from what I can tell. The Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra starts at $1,199.99 with 256GB storage, while the Galaxy Tab S10+ starts at $999 with the same storage. Pre-orders are open today with devices hitting stores on October 3. As a part of the launch, Samsung is taking up to $800 off via trade-ins.

Galaxy Tab S10+ and Ultra ditch Snapdragon for MediaTek Dimensity 9300+, start at $999
Samsung's latest flagship tablets have arrived, but with some significant changes including no smaller size and no Snapdragon processors, instead switching to MediaTek. The Galaxy Tab S lineup has, for the past couple of generations, included three sizes. A base Tab at around 11-inches, a "Plus" at 12.4-inches, and an "Ultra" at 14.6-inches. But, for the Galaxy Tab S10, that smallest size is nowhere to be found. Samsung will instead only be offering its super-sized Tab S10+ and Tab S10 Ultra options. That also raises the starting price of the series to $999. For that price, you'll get a similar package on both tablets. They're both using "Dynamic AMOLED" displays - 12.4-inches on Tab S10+ and 14.6-inches on Tab S10 Ultra - offer 256GB of storage at minimum, have 12GB of RAM, and run Android 14 out of the box. Samsung hasn't confirmed how many updates these tablets will see. The displays on both tablets also feature an anti-reflective design. Upgrades on the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra you won't find on the "Plus" include a 1TB storage option, up to 16GB of RAM, and Wi-Fi 7 support. But perhaps the biggest change is that Samsung is doing away with the usual Snapdragon processors found in these tablets, instead adopting MediaTek's high-end Dimensity 9300+ chip. Samsung says this will still be faster than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 found in the Tab S9 lineup, with an 18% boost on CPU and 28% boost to the GPU, as well as a stronger NPU for AI tasks. Speaking of AI, Samsung's Galaxy AI suite is still in play on these new tablets, with the keyboard cover even adding a new "AI Key" for written prompts with Bixby or Gemini. You'll also find some new smart home features in the software such as "3D Map View" which can help you control SmartThings gear. Samsung's new Galaxy Tab S10+ and Tab S10 Ultra are available for pre-order starting today and shipping soon.

Samsung's Galaxy Tab S10 series leaves the 11-inch model behind
This article covers a developing story. Continue to check back with us as we will be adding more information as it becomes available. While Samsung continues marching on with its (possibly ill-thought-out) Fan Edition series of smartphones, it's also unveiling a pair of new flagship tablets today. The Galaxy S10 series breaks tradition in quite a few ways. It's the first time in years Samsung has left behind its usual 18-month window between Tab S upgrades, as well as the very first time that the 11-inch model has been excised altogether. What's left are two extra large, extra expensive tablets that might leave consumers hoping for deals on last-gen models. The Galaxy Tab S10+ and S10 Ultra are sequels to their respective Tab S9 models first launched alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 5 last summer. Even as far as tablets are concerned -- never the most exciting of upgrades, to be sure -- these models seem like slim refreshes, keeping practically every spec unchanged with just a couple of exceptions. If you're a Tab S9 owner -- or frankly, a Tab S8, or perhaps even Tab S7 owner -- you can probably stop reading here, as it's near impossible to recommend this sort of purchase compared to what you already own. In no particular order, here's a list of every spec unchanged from the Tab S9+ or Tab S9 Ultra to their new Tab S10 counterpart: display size and resolution, chassis length and width, IP68 water and dust resistance, storage and RAM allotment, battery capacity, S Pen support, main and rear camera resolution, and the on-screen fingerprint sensor for biometric authentication. Phew. A new chipset is the big change this year Goodbye Qualcomm, hello MediaTek Close That does leave us with a few changes. Both models are a fraction of a millimeter slimmer and a few grams lighter: 10 grams for the Plus, 14 grams for the Ultra. The Ultra now supports Wi-Fi 7, as opposed to Wi-Fi 6e on the Tab S10+, should you have a fancy, expensive router that supports it. You'll find some very minor design changes too, most notably a swap to Moonstone Gray and Platinum Silver for the colors, as well as a new dedicated Galaxy AI key on the optional keyboard cases. Perhaps most notably, though, is a shift away from Qualcomm processors. Both of these chips are powered by MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ SoCs, which -- at least in benchmarks -- should rival what you'd expect from a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. It's a surprising decision to see Samsung moving away from its usual chipset partner without making a move to in-house Exynos chips, but it shouldn't make much of a difference in day-to-day use. Of course, we'll reserve final judgment for our reviews -- stay tuned. Even for tablets, this is a very boring year-over-year upgrade, one that seemingly exists to swap chip manufacturers rather than to lure any recent Galaxy Tab buyers into upgrading. If Samsung's entire portfolio of products is starting to feel a little stale, the Tab S10+ and Tab S10 Ultra are, perhaps, our most damning examples. Still, if you're due for a tablet upgrade, both are available starting on October 3rd, starting at $1,000 for the 12.4-inch model and a whopping $1,120 for the 14.6-inch model. If you're looking for an 11-inch slate, you'll need to stick to the Galaxy Tab S9 or the cheaper Tab S9 FE.

Samsung's Latest Tablets Ditch Snapdragon and Exynos for MediaTek Chips Instead - Phandroid
After much anticipation, Samsung finally announced the arrival of the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra and S10+, which continue its annual release of high-end premium tablets. While the tablets come with all the usual Samsung staples in terms of aesthetics and software, the company has decided to switch things around for this year, at least in one key area. For context, most of Samsung's previous flagship tablets used either its own Exynos chips or Qualcomm's Snapdragon SoCs inside, although this year Samsung decided to use the Dimensity 9300+, a new flagship SoC from MediaTek. It's a considerable change as MediaTek chips weren't usually known for intensive performance, although the Dimensity series has introduced big leaps in terms of overall power for mobile devices. With that said, the Tab S10 Ultra comes with a 14.6-inch, 2960 x 1848 AMOLED screen with 120Hz refresh rate, while the smaller Tab S10+ features a 12.4-inch, 2800 x 1752 display. For cameras, both tablets come with dual setups consisting of a 13MP main and 8MP ultrawide shooter, and 12MP front cameras (dual 12MP ultrawide for the Ultra). Another big difference is with the battery capacity - with 11,200 mAh on the Ultra and 10,090 mAh on the plus model. For software, both devices feature One UI along with Samsung's suite of AI features. As for pricing, the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra starts at $1,199.99, with 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB storage options, while the Galaxy Tab S10+ starts at $999.99, with 256GB and 512GB storage options. Both devices are available in Moonstone Gray and Platinum Silver, and for folks who pre-order the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra or Galaxy Tab S10+ at Samsung.com or Best Buy will het an enhanced trade-in value up to $800 off either device.
