Workday's AI-Enhanced Platform Drives U.S. Enterprise Transformation

A new report from Information Services Group (ISG) reveals that U.S. enterprises are increasingly partnering with service providers to maximize the benefits of Workday's cloud-based human capital management (HCM) platform. The 2024 ISG Provider Lens™ Workday Ecosystem report highlights how Workday's recent enhancements, including AI-enabled advanced analytics and machine learning, are critical in enabling digital transformations that enhance flexibility, scalability, and cost-efficiency for businesses 12.

Employee Experience at the Forefront

One of the key trends driving Workday adoption in the U.S. is a sharp focus on employee experience (EX). Companies are leveraging Workday's user-friendly interface and mobile capabilities, which include personalized dashboards and self-service HR functions, to boost engagement and worker satisfaction. This improved EX is seen as a catalyst for increased productivity and better talent retention 12.

Interoperability and Custom Applications

U.S. firms are increasingly seeking interoperability between Workday and third-party platforms for core functions such as decision-making, financial management, and forecasting. This integration allows employees to access multiple applications without leaving the Workday environment, streamlining various tasks 12.

Additionally, enterprises are taking advantage of Workday Extend, a component that enables the creation of custom applications to address unique operational needs. Developed in collaboration with system integrators and consulting firms, these applications seamlessly integrate with Workday, extending its functionality 12.

Intelligent Automation and AI Integration

U.S. enterprises are at the forefront of the global trend towards intelligent automation, primarily enabled by AI. With support from Workday ecosystem partners, companies are carefully automating certain HR functions to reduce human effort, cut costs, and improve accuracy. The report also notes that both companies and providers are beginning to explore the potential of generative AI (GenAI) in their tools and solutions, while addressing associated security concerns 12.

Market Leaders and Rising Stars

The ISG report evaluates 28 providers across three service quadrants: Transformation Services, Deployment and Integration Services, and Performance and Optimization Services. Several companies, including Accenture, Cognizant, Deloitte, Huron, Invisors, PwC, Strada (formerly Alight), and TopBloc, are named as Leaders in all three quadrants 12.

The report also identifies CrossVue and Skillcentrix as Rising Stars, companies with promising portfolios and high future potential. In the area of customer experience, Invisors is named the global ISG CX Star Performer for 2024 among Workday Ecosystem providers, having earned the highest customer satisfaction scores in ISG's Voice of the Customer survey 12.

Challenges and Future Trends

While the report paints a positive picture of Workday adoption, it also acknowledges challenges faced by U.S. enterprises. These include change management during HR transformations and difficulties in customizing certain Workday workflows. The report offers insights and advice on addressing these issues 12.

Looking ahead, the Workday ecosystem in the U.S. is expected to see increased mergers, acquisitions, and partnerships among providers. There is also a strong demand for data migration tools and frameworks, indicating a continued focus on seamless integration and optimization of Workday solutions in the enterprise landscape 12.
