Now, besides its ability to generate and edit text, Apple announced that its suite of AI tools will enable new features in Safari, the Passwords app and Messages. In Safari, Apple says the browser can monitor a tab on your behalf and notify you when a change occurs, like tickets going on sale. Safari is also getting new tab sorting and grouping features and the ability to create custom extensions for the tasks you do most often in your browser.

If someone is planning a weekend trip, for example, Safari can pull all of their travel-related tabs into a single topic. As browsing continues, Safari will slot new tabs into existing topics or create fresh ones as needed. Apple is also introducing a way for users to create custom Safari extensions using natural language. The company described the feature as "describe an extension," letting users specify what they want in plain English and having Safari generate an extension that adapts web pages accordingly. Apple's example was adding a toolbar button that saves and rates recipes from cooking sites. A new "Notify Me" feature lets users ask Safari to watch a specific web page for changes and alert them when something relevant happens, such as a product restocking or a price drop. Users tell Safari in natural language what they are looking for, and Safari sends a notification when it detects a matching change on that page. Apple is bringing a background agentic password-updating tool to the browser. Working alongside the Passwords app, Apple Intelligence can automatically navigate to eligible websites, sign in, and update weak or compromised passwords to strong ones with a single tap. When the web page is updated with changes that match your request, you'll instantly get a notification -- for example, when registration for an event opens, or when a product comes back in stock. Vibe code your own Safari extensions Most interestingly, Apple teased that you will be able to vibe-code your own Safari extensions, using a text prompt to add features to a web page, or to customize a page. It will be interesting to see how well this actually works in practice, but it sounds pretty cool. Let Apple Intelligence update your compromised passwords Safari will also integrate with the Passwords app to help you automatically update passwords for websites that might be compromised. Once the Passwords app flags an issue, you can hand over the task of actually doing the tedious part of resetting your passwords over to Apple Intelligence.
