Singulr Bags $10 Mn In Seed Funding Round
India is home to more than 200 GenAI startups and 70% of them are offering solutions to enterprises. These startups have raised more than $1.2 Bn in funding since 2020 Enterprise AI startup Singulr AI has bagged $10 Mn (around INR 87 Cr) in a seed funding round co-led by Nexus Venture Partners and Dell Technologies Capital, along with participation from a clutch of senior executives. The Palo Alto and Pune-based company said in a statement that it has launched an enterprise AI governance and security platform which has already been adopted by companies operating in the technology, finance and healthcare sectors. Founded by Shiv Agarwal and Abhijit Sharma in 2023, Singulr AI aims to equip technology and IT and security teams with tools that can help drive their AI adoption at scale and with full safety. The startup claims that its governance and security platform help users to save cost on redundant use of AI applications in the company and track how AI systems, models and applications are being used by employees to avoid the risk of data leakages while files are uploaded or prompts are given in AI applications. "Through our extensive market research, we recognised that the broad use of generative AI technology is a complex problem needing an enterprise-grade solution to scale and secure. We started Singulr - to help enterprises rapidly adopt and operationalise powerful new AI technologies while managing costs and minimizing risk," said Agarwal. The latest round of funding comes at a time when a host of homegrown AI startups have attracted investments in the past couple of weeks. For instance, recently, platform-as-a-service startup TrueFoundry raised $19 Mn in its Series A funding round led by Intel's investment arm, Intel Capital to accelerate its development of a universal platform, which builds and deploys AI applications with "zero infrastructure hassles". Also, last month, another enterprise AI platform Atomicwork raised $25 Mn in a Series A funding round co-led by Khosla Ventures and its existing investor Z47 Partners. In the same month, Gallabox, a conversational AI platform for enterprises, also secured $3.5 in an extension of its seed funding round led by Seattle-based investor firm FUSE Partners. Inc42's The Pulse of Tech survey also predicted that investors will be betting high on AI and GenAI sectors. More than 50% of surveyed investors said that the sector is at the top of their investment plan in 2025. India is home to more than 200 GenAI startups and 70% of them are offering solutions to enterprises. These startups have raised more than $1.2 Bn in funding since 2020.

AI governance startup Singulr AI raises $10 million from Nexus, Dell Technologies
Some industry executives also participated in the round. The funds will be used to expand its engineering team, enhance platform capabilities, and scale its go-to-market efforts.Enterprise artificial intelligence (AI) governance and security startup Singulr AI has raised $10 million in a seed funding round led by Nexus Venture Partners and Dell Technologies Capital, with participation from industry executives. The Palo Alto and Pune-based company plans to use the funds to expand its engineering team, enhance platform capabilities, and scale its go-to-market efforts, cofounder Abhijit Sharma told ET. Founded in 2023 by Shiv Agarwal and Sharma, Singulr AI helps enterprises discover, govern, and secure AI usage across their operations. The company noted that businesses often deploy hundreds of AI services and models -- many of them redundant -- while over 75% of employees use unapproved AI tools, increasing the risk of data exposure. "There's a balancing act between AI deployment and security risks. We come in there and essentially guarantee that through the usage of our platform, we will not only be continuously aware of all the AI that is in use without any effort, as it's all seamless discovery, and also cover all dimensions of AI activity," said Sharma. He added that the rise of agentic AI has further increased the level of complexity, making enterprise-grade governance essential for managing security risks, compliance challenges, and operational costs. Singulr AI's platform helps technology teams optimise AI usage and reduce expenses, while security and risk teams can address AI-related vulnerabilities. It provides automated AI service discovery, risk assessment, and policy enforcement to help businesses maintain control over their AI environments. Enterprises can also request an AI audit report from the company's website to assess their AI exposure and governance needs. The funding comes as AI adoption accelerates across enterprises, bringing growing concerns around security, compliance, and redundant costs. Agarwal and Sharma previously built data centre security and operations firm Arkin Net, which was acquired by US-based software technology firm VMware. Singulr AI's engineering and product development teams are based in Pune, and it currently has 22 employees globally. Its platform is already deployed across technology, finance, and healthcare companies in North America. "AI is transforming business with a new technology stack, evolving usage patterns, and unprecedented risks -- forcing companies to rethink how they do security and governance," Jishnu Bhattacharjee, managing director at Nexus Venture Partners, said. "The Singulr team has a proven track record of solving complex, enterprise-scale problems and is launching a proven solution that enables businesses to efficiently and safely harness AI's potential."

Singulr AI launches with $10M in funding to secure enterprise AI adoption - SiliconANGLE
Singulr AI launches with $10M in funding to secure enterprise AI adoption Enterprise artificial intelligence security and governance platform startup Singulr AI Inc. today officially launched with an announcement that it has raised $10 million in funding to scale up its platform and enhance its AI risk management capabilities. The company was founded by Shiv Agarwal and Abhijit Sharma, who previously built Arkin Net Inc., which was acquired by VMWare Inc. in 2016. Singulr has been designed to help enterprises gain full visibility into their AI usage, mitigate security risks and optimize costs. The service seeks to address the issues wherein, as AI adoption accelerates, businesses face increasing challenges in managing unapproved AI tools, securing proprietary data and enforcing governance policies across diverse applications and models. It provides a centralized solution to address these concerns that ensures that organizations can scale AI securely while maintaining compliance with industry regulations. The platform offers continuous AI discovery that automatically identifies and monitors AI services, large language models and embedded AI within software-as-a-service applications. The AI discovery allows enterprises to track approved and unauthorized AI tools, providing deep insights into usage patterns, data exposure risks and potential inefficiencies. Through the use of real-time monitoring, businesses can also proactively detect shadow AI -- unvetted AI tools used by employees that may expose intellectual property or sensitive company data. Singulr also delivers automated risk assessment that evaluates AI tools and models based on factors including data security, compliance and organizational impact. The system assigns risk scores that allow security and information technology teams to quickly approve, restrict or flag AI services based on their level of risk, reducing manual oversight while ensuring that only secure and compliant tools are used within the enterprise. Additionally, the platform includes context-aware policy enforcement that allows organizations to define granular rules for AI usage. Users can implement policies to permit, restrict, warn, redact or trigger security workflows based on the context of AI interactions to ensure that sensitive data is protected, unauthorized AI use is minimized, and compliance frameworks are consistently applied across all AI-driven operations. "Companies are experiencing explosive growth in AI adoption across employees, partners and vendors - but this surge comes with mounting security risks and costs," said Chief Executive Shiv Agarwal. "Through our extensive market research, we recognized that the broad use of generative AI technology is a complex problem needing an enterprise-grade solution to scale and secure. We started Singulr to help enterprises rapidly adopt and operationalize powerful new AI technologies while managing costs and minimizing risk." The seed funding for Singulr came from Nexus Venture Partners and Dell Technologies Capital Inc., with a number of leading industry executives also participating in round.
