PRAGATI: India's First Integrated Robotics Cluster

The centerpiece of this vision is PRAGATI (Park for Robotics, Artificial Intelligence, GPU Clusters and Advanced Technical Innovation), which will be developed over approximately 75 acres in Noida

As India's first integrated robotics and advanced manufacturing cluster, PRAGATI will feature state-of-the-art facilities including a robotics testing and certification centre, rapid prototyping and manufacturing facility, AI compute infrastructure, motion capture lab, physical AI data centre, and startup incubation and co-working spaces

. The project will also establish a comprehensive industrial ecosystem comprising global manufacturing companies, component manufacturers, research and development centres, and specialized service providers

Strategic Location Drives Deep Tech Manufacturing Hub Ambitions

Noida emerged as the most suitable location for this deep tech manufacturing hub due to its robust electronics manufacturing ecosystem, excellent connectivity, proximity to Jewar International Airport, access to the Dedicated Freight Corridor, the Defence Industrial Corridor, and a strong industrial and academic base

. The project aims to make the state a national centre for robotics and high-technology-based manufacturing while reducing import dependence. Over the next five years, PRAGATI is expected to generate more than one lakh direct and indirect employment opportunities and ensure gross value addition of more than Rs 2,000 crore

U Hub Initiative Connects Research to Entrepreneurship

Complementing PRAGATI, the state plans to establish U Hub facilities as world-class Centre of Excellence platforms connecting research, innovation, industry, investment, educational institutions, and talent

. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath stated, "A robust platform should be created where technologies developed in research laboratories are commercialised, innovation receives investment, and young people get opportunities to progress from research to entrepreneurship"

Specialized Focus Areas for Each Hub

The Noida U Hub will concentrate on quantum computing, semiconductor design, physical AI, robotics, defence technology, and advanced biotechnology, while the Lucknow U Hub will focus on applied AI, GovTech, healthcare AI solutions for industry, biosciences, and agri-biotechnology

. An expert committee constituted under the chairmanship of the Director of IIT Kanpur has studied national and international deep tech ecosystems to prepare the concept, structure, and operational model for these hubs

Skill Development Aligned with Future Technologies

Recognizing that job generation requires appropriate skill development, the Chief Minister directed officials to develop world-class training and certification systems in artificial intelligence, machine learning, cybersecurity, cloud computing, semiconductors, and data science

. He emphasized that skill development programmes should be designed according to industry requirements, with better coordination established among technical education, higher education, industry, and skill development institutions to prepare the youth of Uttar Pradesh for future technologies
