In a study involving 20 participants, users were asked to replicate tasks from a demo video and then freely explore HandProxy's capabilities. The results were promising, with many participants expressing enthusiasm for the tool's potential. Some users were particularly excited about the possibility of using HandProxy for more abstract tasks that aren't limited to the physical world

Chen Liang, a doctoral student involved in the research, suggests that HandProxy could act as an intelligent agent, capable of executing high-level commands like "organize my workspace" by sorting and closing open windows autonomously

Challenges and Future Improvements

While HandProxy shows great promise, the researchers acknowledge some challenges in its current implementation. During the study, the software failed to correctly interpret 64 out of 781 tasks. These misinterpretations included difficulties in understanding contextual references and executing certain abstract commands
