"This era has moved beyond machines to machine learning. AI is taking centre stage, and we can see its application replacing conventional software. It is essential to make our youth future ready to tackle these challenges," he said, asserting that the government is committed to supporting young talent and fostering their self-confidence. In a ceremony celebrating Veer Bal Diwas, Modi remembered the "unparalleled" sacrifice of Guru Gobind Singh's sons, the Sahibzadas, who chose "unwavering courage and faith over submission to the Mughal Empire's oppression". "More than 300 years ago, on December 26, the Sahibzadas, despite their tender age, displayed unparalleled bravery and sacrificed their lives. They rejected every temptation and endured unimaginable torture, showing that for them, the nation's cause was supreme," he said, urging youths to draw inspiration from their legacy.

Veer Bal Diwas is observed annually on December 26 to mark the courage of the Sahibzadas, whose resolve in the face of oppression serves as an example of resilience. The PM paid tribute to the Sahibzadas, Guru Gobind Singh's sons, who chose martyrdom over submission to the Mughal Empire. PM Modi urged young people to draw inspiration from the Sahibzadas' resilience as they pursue proficiency in emerging technologies and uphold essential values. State governments across the country are rolling out their own AI programmes. While Kerala aims to become a hub for generative AI, Tamil Nadu focuses on AI for social development. Karnataka is integrating AI into education, and Andhra Pradesh plans to build an AI-driven city in Amaravati. Meanwhile, Telangana's tie-up with Meta promises more efficient governance, and Maharashtra's partnership with Google targets agriculture and healthcare, as Gujarat prioritises sustainable growth through Centres of Excellence. The central government is also allocating substantial funds to AI with an aim of positioning India as a global leader. India's AI efforts span two worlds - the tech-savvy urban 'India' and rural 'Bharat,' where smartphones are just taking root. Advanced AI powers fintech and smart cities in urban areas, but rural regions need simpler, more empathetic solutions. Organisations like Karya, NextWealth, KissanAI, and AI4Bharat bridge this gap and show that AI can uplift everyone.
